I was on the Glitch subreddit and found this Virgin vs. Chad meme that puts N in the Virgin place, while putting Rocky from Lackadaisy in the Chad place (since Glitch now owns Lackadaisy, people started posting Lackadaisy stuff on the subreddit).
0 upvotes and 14 comments, I don't like that. I didn't bother reading the comments section, I've seen what happens when someone says something even slightly negative about a Glitch series on the subreddit (and yes, this also applies to Modern SMG4). Here's the full image:
Why is this guy angry that Glitch always promotes N as a cute, adorable and innocent person? They always promote Cyn as a cute and quirky villain, even though she's supposed to be a pure evil, powerful eldritch abomination. That alone should indicate that Murder Drones' marketing never takes anything about the show seriously.
Speaking of Cyn, I remembered that the cockroach alien from Men in Black 1 did the "monster wearing a human skin suit as a disguise" much better and more convincingly. I always appreciate the detail of the skin rotting throughout the film.
You say that, like that's a high bar.

I mean, I guess maybe to the retarded children that think Murder Drones is Citizen Kane, maybe, but to anyone with a functioning brain Murder Drones is pretty dogshit. It looks nice, it's a gilded turd, but still a turd.
Believe me when I say that there are many people over the age of 20 who genuinely think that Murder Drones is a masterpiece. But as I said in the Digital Circus thread, most of the praise Murder Drones receives comes purely from the Glitch association. I've said it many times, but for the animation community, Glitch Productions is sacred, and everything they create is an instant masterpiece. Glitch is saving animation; they give creators complete creative control, they shit on corpos, they're anti-AI, and they gave an animation industry veteran a second chance to create a cartoon. People don't care if a show is poorly written as long as it's made by Glitch.
This became something like the "Place, Place Japan" meme, but instead of Japan, it's Glitch Productions.
"Here's an 8-episode cartoon with bad writing, a convoluted plot, underdeveloped characters, and numerous plotholes"
Almost no one likes it... (at least it looks pretty)
"Here's an 8-episode cartoon with bad writing, a convoluted plot, underdeveloped characters, and numerous plotholes, made by the people who made Digital Circus"
This is a Masterpiece!!! These Guys are Saving Animation!!!
(Meme somewhat related here)
Kind of a less-misanthropic Invader Zim.
You know, you remind me of something I read on Twitter a while back. There's this indie studio called BlipToons that plans to create indie shows for kids. They say they want to recreate the "magic" of shows like Steven Universe, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and other kids shows that were popular with adults in the 2010s, as well as keeping children away from Vivziepop and Glitch. In theory, it's a noble idea, but in practice, it leaves much to be desired.
The pilot hasn't even been released yet, but from the few things they've shown, this looks painfully average, at least in my opinion. My biggest problem with Zipped Up is that it relies too heavily on other popular indie series. I'm guessing that when they said they wanted to make an indie shows for kids, they meant a super-restrained version of a Vivziepop show. The animation feels very Vivziepop-esque, and that jester character looks like he was ripped off from Helluva Boss. It becomes even more apparent when you see the old art style this series was supposed to have; it looks even more like Vivziepop's artstyle.

See that robot with yellow eyes and teeth? He's voiced by Michael Kovach. Yes, that's a not-so-subtle actor allusion there. It feels like this show is appealing first to the Indie Enthusiasts first and then to children.
In the part of Twitter where people can actually think critically, they began to point out the flaws.
And then, someone made this comment:
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the reply I was looking for, but I remember there was a reply in this thread saying something like "No kid under 10 should ever watch Murder Drones, do you know how much death and eldritch horror is in that show?". Everyone started calling out that user, telling him that Murder Drones isn't that scary. One specific reply said "Many kids shows get away with messed up things. Invader Zim had an entire episode about harvesting human organs".
Some adults in the animation community genuinely think Murder Drones is a very scary show, I mean, most of them tend to be cowards anyway; you have adults over 30 like Saberspark shitting their pants over Digital Circus. Personally, I don't consider Murder Drones to be a scary show, but rather something more edgy than a full-blown horror show. Murder Drones falls into that "edgy but quirky" category that Viclis mentioned. There are other examples of "edgy but quirky," and I found a Spanish meme that compiles some of them.
I found this meme shitting on Murder Drones and other similar "edgy but quirky" media months ago, and the translation literally says "You know the product is going to be shit when the characters look like this".
Besides Murder Drones, you can see:
Omori (2020):

The Coffin of Andy and Leyley (2023):

Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea (2013):

Mogeko Castle (2012), the oldest here and by the same creator as Wadanohara:

Fundamental Paper Education (2024). The only reason I remember this is because the creator had the same fate as the creator of Sprunki:
he made a video blaming smg4 for his channel not being popular and he has a meltdown over tadc. i guess this sm64 machinma community showed fm the video. He privated it but i'm sure someone has an archive somewhere. MM also made a video a few years ago cursing at smg4 in morse code because he didn't use his collab entry so he's hated by the smg4 community
Ah, that explains this:
i remember when the smg4 fnaf episode remake came out someone on twitter who helped with it said they only saw the security breach video
I wonder if they know that Luke infamously ended up hating making FNAF videos during the Golden Age of SMG4 because people kept asking him to make them, to the point that he REFUSED to make a FNAF 4 video and didn't make a single FNAF video until 2018 when Ultimate Custom Night came out, and he took the opportunity to use the game's plot to cover all the FNAF games that SMG4 skipped during the time gap between FNAF videos. The video even begins with a joke about SMG4 only making another FNAF video due to popular demand.
You can tell that Luke stopped being involved in writing for SMG4 when the channel started posting FNAF videos again after Security Breach came out.
So little update on Knight of Guinevere.
The show has still not been greenlighted, despite being three months after the pilot release.
This isn't helped by the fact that the pilot has peaked at 16 million views, which shouldn't sound bad until you compare it with Knight of Guinevere's views and the other pilots at Glitch Production.
Even when you compare it to The Gaslight District, Dana's pilot had 5 million views less than that show.
Made even worse, The Gaslight was confirmed to be greenlight, and considering the only character that most people like is the robot girl, the character-based Disney princess that Dana wants to heavily criticize, yeah, things don't look good for her show.
All the charas aside from Guinevere and her creator are ugly lesbians. No one wants to watch that crap anymore. Plus the merch sucked. I wanted to buy something to support the pilot but all of the merch had the ugly MCs and the Gwen-only stuff looked like shit.
Sucks to suck.
I told you everyone, Guinevere is everyone's favorite character and the only character people care about the most. But I don't think Glitch will reject Knights of Guinevere, it would be too risky for them. The fact they they gave an animation industry veteran a second chance to create a cartoon is one of Glitch's greatest achievements, if not one of the greatest achievements in the history of indie animation, and if that happens, the animation community will lose its mind. "How could you, Glitch! We thought you were better than the evil mouse corporation! How could you not let that gem of animation become a full series? Now we hate you! Poor Dana Terrace! Animation is doomed!"
I always felt that the very existence of Knights of Guinevere was a gimmick: An animation industry veteran is making an indie show with the studio behind Digital Circus, and the show exposes the dark side of The Walt Disney Company, which has been in terrible condition throughout this decade. There's nothing substantial beyond that, except that it's Glitch's first 2D show. At least Shrek, another piece of media that mocked Disney, has much more to offer than just mocking Disney (friendly reminder that Lord Farquaad is a caricature of Michael Eisner, Disney's then-CEO, and he's killed at the end), and that's why that movie stood the test of time and is still widely loved and discussed after 25 years.
Speaking of Shrek, I found another Spanish meme, this time dissing the people who praises Knights of Guinevere simply because it made fun of Disney. The translation says "Can you stop mentioning that the series humiliated/destroyed Disney? For just five minutes?"
At the end of the day, Dana and Glitch got what they wanted: they were applauded and cheered across the Internet for shitting on Disney.
Also, hadn't Dana already confirmed that Andi and Frankie are just friends? A bizarre choice, considering she created one of the most famous LGTB kids' shows of all time, but that's her word.
Not to sound like an industry stooge but talking so much shit about Disney after they let you make The Owl House doesn’t seem like the best move. Ditto for the NPC-looking lesbeans.
Someone said this in the Cartoon Industry thread last September:
It is funny to me how Dana Terrace got her own show, a once in a lifetime opportunity that is the dream of every cartoonist, just had to put kid lesbians and gender in it, got her show axed by Disney (maybe not as a direct result, but it probably didn’t help)
and her immediate next move is making an indie show with a “fuck Disney” theme.
Really salting the earth on top of burning bridges here.
I found it funny and ironic that now, when Dana has total creative control, she decides that Andi and Frankie are just friends.
Dana's next show is going to be about her seething at Glitch.
If that ends up happening, that would be historic.
I was looking through old Vailskibum videos and found this:
If she's this angry with Disney for canceling her show so soon, imagine how angry she'd be if Glitch rejected the pilot. Even worse, if she leaves Glitch, Glitch would likely retain the rights to the show, which would only add insult to injury. I don't know if Glitch would dare to do that, that if a creator leaves, they would keep the rights to the show they created for themselves, like corpos do. For example: Imagine if Gooseworx leaves Glitch, Glitch would retain the rights to Digital Circus, and Gooseworx wouldn't be able to work on anything new for the characters they created because they don't own them.
If Dana makes a Knights of Guinevere but makes fun of Glitch instead of Disney, wouldn't that mean she'd have to mock Luke and Kevin? I mean, she's mocking Walt Disney, so the logical thing would be to mock the Lerdwichaguls. Furthermore, I wonder what the equivalent to Princess Guinevere would be? The obvious choice would be Pomni, since she's Glitch most popular character, but I'd prefer if she used SMG4 the character, since he's basically Luke's avatar, and if his design is based on the redesign, that would be great, because I hate Modern SMG4's face.
Not too surprising. Owl House was watched, and I use that term loosely, by the tumblr crowd, so it’s not like she had all that much of a successful show to start with. Spending hundreds of thousands, and wanting 5 million more to rant about a company, one that let you make your show, isn’t going to endear the normies, nor is the shitty character designs going to bring people in. And creators really need to tone down the trippy flash back dream sequences, for the love of God. It’s not deep just annoying and confusing.
The animation community is still mourning the loss of The Owl House. Watch this video from Saberspark.
I don't think The Owl House is a bad show, infact, I actually enjoyed some episodes from season 2, but Saberspark gives The Owl House far too much credit than it deserves, even going so far as to say that it's a perfect alternative to Harry Potter for those who hate J.K. Rowling. And it's not just him, many cartoon reviewers have a very high opinion of The Owl House.
To end this post on a positive note, look what I found on TikTok

Honestly, this looks SO MUCH better than the official show. I'd pay to watch a version of Knights of Guinevere with the actual Disney characters.
