Saw TADC after reading it was inspired by I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. After watching it, these are my thoughts:

It's just as awful as Hazbin Hotel.

Decided to catch up to episode 6 of Murder Drones since TADC reminded me that Glitch Productions was an actual thing.

I wouldn't say I dislike it, but it's a little rough around the edges in some places. The animation itself is good, and I would go as far as to say some select shots and scene compositions are great. It does a good job of blending relatively soft character designs with traces of horror elements. Replacing blood and gore with oil and organic circuitry keeps it viewable to all audiences while serving as a good analog to scenes that wouldn't be out of place in a 90s sci fi/horror film. The character interactions are usually light-hearted and played for comedy with more intense moments bringing the stakes back up during lulls in the action. Plot-wise, it feels like a weird mashup between a lighter Nier: Automata and The Thing. I'm not entirely certain, but there's two episodes in particular that feel like they play heavily into Sleepaway Camp and Carrie.

The BIGGEST issue is the amount of holes in the plot and the lack of tonal consistency. There's a lot of plot/lore that gets dumped/referenced early on and doesn't get revisited until later episodes (if at all), and even then only vaguely. As for the tone, character deaths can range anywhere between being a dire struggle to survive to being waved off as comic relief. The character development itself is alright, but a lot of actual information on characters' backstories is left vague, either intentionally or due to the nature of it being a "short production". This is compounded on further by unclear and unexplained events that happen between the episodes that can leave viewers wondering just how things have progressed from Point A to Point B between the end of one episode and the start of another.

Assuming Murder Drones runs for 8 episodes, they only 2 more to go to wrap up a bunch of half-finished lore and find a way to conclude it in a way that doesn't leave it feeling half-baked (which it could be). I'm being cautiously optimistic for what's left. Longer episodes would have greatly benefitted this show. Another 8 episodes couldn't hurt either. Episode 6 really left off on a hell of a cliffhanger and I'm excited to see where it goes from here.

Watched the digital circus because the jester girl is all over the internet and had nothing better to do.

- Premise is fine. In spite of being zoomer slop I'd like to know what happens. Not that hopeful they will stick the landing.

- Not being political or pozzed is why it's been so successful, everyone wants shit they can just enjoy without being reminded of current year.

- All attempts at humor not funny, but not offensively bad attempts. I somewhat forgive this because it wasn't made for me, it was made for tweens who are hearing these kind of jokes for the first time and will find it funny. Yes they deserve better media, "it's for kids" isn't really a good excuse, but setting that aside I'm not gonna get mad at lame jokes.

- Going along with the above, it's over-written. Someone mentioned earlier that Don't Hug Me I'm Scared did the same vibe better, and I agree, too much exposition tells me you don't trust the viewer to figure it out.

- Caine is going to be played up as the slightly sinister all-powerful guy keeping them all stuck, but the twist will be that he's just as trapped, or making the best of a bad situation.

- Jax is trope of the sarcastic jerk who deep down has a heart of gold, but the twist will be that he's actually an irredeemable asshole who will betray everyone for a chance to escape (probably with immediate karmic consequences).

- If C&A actually means Cain and Abel like most of the internet theorizes then that's retardedly hamfisted and the show is doomed.

- The fanbase seems utterly insufferable, as expected.

Info for the thread that I hadn't seen mentioned earlier: the creator has said the plan for the show is one season, 8 episodes, which is wise. Means they can go bigger with character reveals and/or killing people off, rather than needing to maintain a status quo for filler.

The whole thing is an obvious metaphor for the zoomer mindset: being born into a world offering fun and endless adventure, but feeling a strange desperation that you should be more free than you are. Giving up and embracing the fun that's spoon-fed to you is the only thing that keeps you from going insane. Looking up beyond your entertainment, you won't find anything but endless drudgery, cubicles, and death. The promise of entertainment (and the dull hope of further attempts at finding meaning) is the only thing that drags you back from the void.

What's funny is it's also a metaphor for the internet and living under the megacorp media regime. No Pomni, you're not allowed to say nigger. The show is an acknowledgement of the lame gilded cages and walled gardens everyone is stuck in, but since it's made by a troon it's not going to be smart enough to offer a real solution.

Streams over now, any thoughts?
It was decent, about what I expected it to be. Seemed a little bit awkward at the beginning but it was nice to see everyone involved having fun when they got into the swing of things drawing each other's characters. Even the voice actor "game show" segment with Saberspark I was fully expecting to be cringe ended up being a good time. It was also nice to hear some new info about TADC (including that episode three will apparently focus on Zooble, a character who I felt was sorely underutilized in the pilot).

Oh, and seeing the sharty completely fail to make any kind of impact whatsoever was pretty funny.

Yeah, the moderation looked really tight, but even if it wasn't, however many soyteens there were would've been lost among tens of thousands of normal watchers. And they probably would've skipped over any drill-fetish-related questions had there been any.
They did get a Discord server temporarily shut down, though.

The weak should fear the strong.
I much prefer the flowy style of vizie and I always get the feeling of "awwww this is so bad and retarded its kinda funny I like it" thanks to decent character design (or merely overstylization), but it is clear the premise of Cooper Goodwins show is far more appealing as it less defined into a theatre-kid niche. Expectations are it merely shits the bed by the end or comes out mediocre. It is not a self-proclaimed messiah of web media coming from the swamps of the missispi. It is but merely another way for certain people up top to keep gen Z sedated with entertainment than as Charls Carrol from the tap water segment puts it "Flipping cars and killing politicians".

It is even funnier to imagine that this show is pushed by the pentagon. The whole conversation between agents calling up YouTube to push this is better dialogue than whatever Cooper could come up with.

Holy FUCK I hadn't realized it was growing that fast. I just checked right now and it's gained 3M more views since your post 13 hours ago.

I actually can't believe the person who made 0% of Spaghetti has gotten this big, it's genuinely impressive and I'm really happy to see it.

It is a mere hypothetical but I could imagine it as:
"Hey Johnny! I got something!"
"It better not be that fucking stupid A24 shit I swear-"
"No look! This shit is gonna get us to meet our yearly qoutas!"
*intro plays*
"Your a fucking genius Craig... I'll call the supervisor. I'll need to call DARPA and the Indian guy who runs YouTube as well".

The closest you'll get to a glowie conspiracy is that Glitch gets grant funding from the Australian government.
The Australian government gives grants to every film project (even on the state level) due to economic desperation masked as "wanting to break out onto the scene". At least it does give jobs. I will give you that much.

I remember some clip of Charls Carroll where he describes that "why dont you just wait in the parking lot of your work and kill each employee that comes in in their cars?". I feel like that whenever I watch TADC. For some reason. Just feels oddly schizophrenic inducing.
