This is only telling me that the entertainment industry has gone to shit
TADC isn't even that original or, dare I say, "amazing". Yet it's gain 100m in less then a month. Not even marvel trailers get this many views anymore
People are dispirit for something that has love and soul put into it, and the million dollar companies aren't offering that
I don't see this as a positive though. This might just be the jaded boomer side of me speaking, but mediocrity shouldn't be rewarded with this much success
It's just another "trapped in another world" type show, but with an kid pix aesthetic and backrooms elements ( you can't convince me that endless office wasn't inspired by that shit )

A thought that occurred to me earlier is that the character of Gangle doesn't really seem to align with the "the characters are humans trapped in cartoon avatars" element of the show. So she has two masks, a happy and a sad one, right? Is she sad because she's wearing the sad mask (as in, she can't be happy when she's wearing it)? Because that trait seems distinctly non-human and AI-like to me. What about if she's angry, or stressed, or any emotion other than happy or sad? Can she express those emotions? My point is Gangle's personality seems tied to their avatar in a way the other characters aren't. It's not made very clear in the pilot and I have a feeling it won't be in the full show either.

She's probably bipolar or something.

This production has more red flags than Tiananmen Square. Like I said in the "Digital Circus" thread, being made by a troon TROONS with fucked up fetishes, woke evangelism, and massive viral attention -- this feels like the final boss of everything wrong with entertainment in *current year*. Almost feel like avoiding it out of principle.

I look at it this way if this show somehow avoids all the red flags, then we get a decent show out of it. In the likely event that the red flags come true, then we get a hilarious shitshow.

Either way is a win win for me. The most sub optimal outcome is that it turns into a boring mess, which is the least likely at the moment.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it that. If anything, the thing probably deserving of that title is either High Guardian Spice, MCU Phase 4/5/6, The Rey movie (if it ever gets made), Forspoken, or Indy 5.

I'm late as fuck but I watched the digital circus pilot recently. Aesthetic interesting, pomni cute, yadda yadda. I found Jax to be the worse characters. The "funny asshole" archetype has been done in every popular indie animation and he doesn't bring anything new to the table. His design look like every 13 year old kid's generic oc. Not only that but the tim creator simp for him and use him as a self insert so I fear he will become increasingly more obnoxious. View attachment 5495910View attachment 5495911View attachment 5495912
I prefer the fan interpretation that he's secretly an insecure loser.
Anyway, I overall liked the pilot, especially the psychological horror moments involving pomni. I hope the show live up to its potential.
Self-quoting so I don't repeat myself. I don't think there will be any tranny shits in this show, my biggest fear is that Jax will get increasingly more faggy and invasive because the creator want to suck his dick. He drew this too. Tumblr_l_15232229471113.png
While I did enjoy the pilot, I felt in my guts that it was a magnet for autism and elsagate content. Idk, the kidcore aesthetic coupled with the adhd pacing and thinly veiled fetish fuel gave me a bad feeling. This show seems to appeal to both the YouTube kids audience and tumblr. I fear that we're in for an internet storm bigger than undertale and bronies combined.
That aside, I still think the show has potential and I'm curious to check it out when it come out.
