GLITCH Productions - From the guys that brought you the Super Mario 64 bloopers

It seems Robyn has responded to Jasmine's statement.

And she also released a video regarding the whole controversy.

You're not the only one to have noticed this and have a problem with it. It's especially bad with superhero movies. To me it comes across as almost a form of insecurity - "See, we know the premise of heroes with superpowers is ridiculous and childish too! We're just having a bit of fun!", but then they also expect you to take the overarching plot threads (that span multiple movies) seriously.
Yeah part of it is the fact that they half ass it and that's why it's annoying. You do one or the other, there is no in-between. But the problem is they keep trying to do an in-between and it doesn't work.

In my opinion there's only two ways you can do it. You either play it serious or you go all in balls deep and just embrace how fucking stupid it is. None of this insecure bullshit. It's part of why for instance something like Devil May Cry works (and what the reboot didn't understand.) Devil May Cry doesn't pretend, it knows how fucking ridiculous it is and doesn't care. The humor isn't meta but born from the fucking absurdity within the world itself and that's why it works.

Basically, they need to learn to stop half assing and go all in. One or the other, you can't do both. You either own it, or you don't.

And this in my opinion is an issue with Murder Drones. It's trying to be this serious kinda horror themed show but then you have all this unfunny meta bullshit that doesn't really mesh well with the tone. Again some humor wouldn't be a bad thing if it was done organically but most of the time it's unfortunately not. They expect me to laugh out loud but most of the time I just roll my eyes. Though it's made worse by the fact that the show is clearly meant to be some kind of horror thriller or something so the jokes seem even more out of place.

Okay unfortunately a double post because I took too long and can't edit the first one anymore, wish this came to mind earlier. Maybe staff can edit this onto the previous one or some shit.
But another thing that bothers me about the humor in Murder Drones is how "dated" it is. This is an issue in some other sci-fi things too with millennial writers and I hate it.

This universe takes place in a distant future yet there are jokes and memes and references to the modern day? In a setting where that would be considered ancient history? Very fucking odd and it always bothers me. But that might just be because I'm a worldbuilding autist so that kind of shit bothers me very particularly.

There is nothing autistic about that, you just have common sense. You make a good point and it shows you have more hindsight than the people in the writing team.

Anytime something gets really popular or starts to take off, people either invent controversy or take something relatively small and blow it the shit up for drama. This is nothing new.

Kevin has finally released a Statement.

Here's the full thing.
A cautionary tale on having a production team and leading it comes with great responsibility within the owner shared with the people inside the production team and there is always that someone, or if not a good portion, or someone from the outside of it that will turn things on it's head. I've seen this happen many times and I was expecting this situation to happen as well. So what I have heard was the allegations that Tari's voice actor being replaced without the original voice actor knowing and another one has had to do with allegedly very strict deadlines. We'll see where this goes.

I do notice how hard they're shilling The Amazing Digital Circus and trying to capitalize on it's popularity.
I would ask "Do you think this is where the sell out arc begins?" but honestly it's already begun. No point in asking.

And the second episode isn't even out yet. (First episode if you still count the 1st one as the pilot even though they're calling it episode 1 now.)

Double post I know. But we are apparently going to get some actual Murder Drones related news tomorrow beyond just the news that Episode 8 is being delayed.

Maybe they'll finally clear up the confusion of whether just Episode 8 is delayed or Episode 7 too. Forgive me if I missed anything but there's been a bit of confusion as of late since the teaser during GlitchX implied that Episode 7 and 8 would either be dropping at the same time or very close to eachother but the statement regarding the drama only mentioned episode 8 and not 7 so people, including myself, are unsure whether both episodes are delayed or if it's just episode 8.

Hopefully they'll make that clear with this announcement.

Reactions: Ether Being

So it turns out I was correct and it is a trailer. Episode 7 will be released on the 29th it seems. So I guess this means that only Episode 8 was delayed then. At least I assume.

That's it. No other news. Still no word on whether there will be a season 2 or anything though given their previous habits like with Meta Runner they probably won't announce that shit until like a year or two after Season 1 ends.

Anyway, I assume back to our regularly scheduled shilling of The Amazing Digital Circus merch. (Please buy it! We are in crippling debt, they're going to take our kneecaps if you don't!)

Honestly, I'm even more confused than before. I kind of hate how almost every episode I just get more confused on what is going on rather than actual answers.

Also
I was kind of hoping the theories about the earth being destroyed somehow being a ruse were true because I swear to god the earth being destroyed in sci-fi settings is so overused. It feels like every sci-fi setting these days has the earth either destroyed or a barren wasteland. I'm a bit tired of seeing it actually.

Overall though, they still haven't fixed any of the pacing issues, everything is going by so fast and as always it's very hard to decipher what the hell is going on. At first I gave the benefit of the doubt and figured okay, maybe they'd get better as they went but it just keeps happening. I'm really hoping if there IS a season 2 they're allowed to space things out more. Because it's getting very exhausting. I'm at the point where I'm done trying to decipher the story myself. I'll just wait for some youtuber faggot to explain it.
But it still won't fix the issue. I'm gonna say it, I shouldn't have to watch a youtuber break it down just to have an even basic idea of what the fuck is going on.

Literally so far I've only been able to decipher one thing for certain and that's "Solver is some kind of eldritch entity, I'm guessing something akin to the flood from Halo and it wants to eat the universe or something. I guess." every episode just brings more confusion and I'm tired of it.

The recent episodes go back and forth between fighting and lore dumping. They've tried to turn MD into Gravity Falls it seems but didn't have nearly the capacity to pull it off. And now that they had all those lore questions to answer and a plot to advance they had no choice but to speedrun through it all.

I'm pretty much convinced that the writers only had a faint outline of the story and that they had to make stuff up on the fly. Moreover, they had quite dramatically changed the direction of the story after E3 and Liam himself even admitted to that on the GlitchX stream.

Saw those comments under E5

I have some more complaints but I'm lazy.
I'm not really looking forward to E8 anymore. I'll probably still watch it but I'm certainly not staying up late for this shit.

Again I really hate how this show does storytelling. The best way I can describe it is it feels like I'm watching the show out of context. But no, this is just how it is.
The furry asking about whether there's some extra material we aren't aware of makes so much sense. It really does fucking feel like we're not being given any of the context for what is going on beyond vague implications, almost nothing solid. Then just when you think you might have an idea of what is going on the next episode just goes "Nope, fuck you, you were completely wrong. Even if it doesn't make any sense. Live with it nigger." I don't know if it's just Liam himself writing it or if he has people helping him. Maybe he just writes a rough draft and it's up to someone else to fill in the blanks? I have no idea, but whoever is writing this shit does not know what they're doing. Or at least that's how it all comes off to me.

Here's hoping The Amazing Digital Circus feels more coherent in terms of story. For once, I am praying the Tranny Janny knows what they're doing.

It really does feel like they got over ambitious. I don't know where I heard it or if it's even true or not. I might have even mentioned it in the thread before and just forgot but I have heard whispers that originally the show was planned to be more comedy focused rather than story driven before they ultimately decided on what we have now. You can really feel it when you watch the pilot and then the rest of the series. The tone in general feels very different from the rest of the episodes. I think even N's voice actor Michael Kovach said that they intentionally wrote N to be more sinister in episode 1 before seemingly dropping it.
The show suddenly changing direction would definitely explain quite a lot. And I guess it must've changed direction even moreso later. All bad signs in terms of writing.

Now I'm no writer, but typically from my experience not having at least a general idea of the over-arching story you want to tell is usually a warning sign that you should probably stop where you are and reconsider. It definitely explains all the bizarre contradictions present in the writing. They're doing this shit Star Wars Sequels style and just making it up as they go.
I'm sure it'll work out swell for them. It worked for Disney right?

Binged Murder Drones earlier because why not.
Honestly I do like what they're doing with Solver, that's about it bc i like techy stuff as well as eldritch stuff.
The series really just confuses me more than anything in the end.
