I'm surprised nobody in the comments is mentioning how they killed off Thad and Lizzie. :story:Just in case you forgot how utterly pointless as characters they were before.

EDIT: I somehow missed the part where they just miraculously get revived. Honestly would've been hilarious if they did just fucking die, if only to watch the inevitable fandom fallout from killing them off like that. Would've been an entertaining final chuckle.
(For the record if that drone at 1:58 that V killed wasn't supposed to be Thad it looked so much like him that I honestly thought it was. Lizzie isn't shown being killed on-screen at least but it's not exactly a leap in logic to assume they'd just kill her.)

This Glitch + The Living Tombstone crossover reminded me of a somewhat interesting finding I had.

Yep, those two in the same comment section, which belongs to a video named "Heavy Is 20." Makes you wonder what the video in question was about.

Here's a 10 second clip:

(full video on YouTube and on PreserveTube)

Old YouTube was different in a beautiful way. This makes me think if liking media from years ago like that could blow up in their face, as we live in a period in which people are easily cancelled.

Now speaking of the music video itself, I wasn't a fan of it. I didn't like the song. I'll just stick to my niche selection of music that makes me look like the king of autism.

Also, I noticed they didn't put J in the music video; they considered the dinosaur to be more important LMAO.

I'm telling you she unironically added literally nothing to the show. She literally just existed for Uzi to kill her and that's about it. :story:
I'm honestly convinced she was only brought back because she somehow has fans even though she did nothing else even after coming back to life.
No the fight scene at the end doesn't fucking count. Actually, I wouldn't even be surprised if they only had J there because they couldn't figure out how to make Cyn fighting everyone at once not look retarded.

I can get her appeal, but she's definitely underutilized in the story, similarly to Doll. Complaining about MD's writing mistakes is like beating a dead horse at this point.

On the other hand, J gave us that 18-year-old Russian zoomer who's busy building her in real life. Since my post about him almost a month ago, he managed to give her a jaw capable of biting and upgraded various parts of her, such as her arms. He was unable to make her able to walk, though.

Funnily enough, J had a bigger impact in real life than in the show, as she managed to hear this guy's neighbor calling for help when he fell out of his wheelchair.

I don't, Her character is literally just "Narcissistic bitch" on top of contributing almost nothing to the narrative.
Probably a remnant from when the series was supposed to be more comedy focused and Liam didn't want to just remove her even if keeping her was kind of pointless.

I still think this is pretty autistic and kind of funny, but at least it's the neat kind of autism. Engineering autism.

Also WOTFI 2025 came out, and no, they're still using it to end Arcs instead of it being a completion between Mario and SMG4. Though if it means this is the last of Mr Puzzles and that edgelord, I'm for it.
I haven’t watched SMG4 in years but I’m seeing speculation that it might be ending, or at least changing? WOTFI 2025 was a time travel plot going back to a bunch of past episodes (with the final challenge being the first episode) and SMG4 tearfully saying he’s lived a good life or something along those lines. Then in the middle of a party where everyone’s happy, it ends with him sadly telling everyone he needs to talk to them while looking right at the screen. No merch shilling, no fun outro music, it just ends on that with a credits scroll.

Outside the episode itself, a few people have said the merch page used to say “the final WOTFI” before quickly being swapped out for “the ultimate WOTFI”, and (I don’t know if it was already like this) Glitch Production and SMG4’s channels no longer reference each other. My guess is that Luke and Kevin will “move on” from SMG4 and let it be its own thing while they focus on Glitch full time.

Finally, the nightmare is over. Modern SMG4 is officially over. Honestly, I don't have high hopes for the movie; they'll probably retcon stuff at last minute, and there will be forced emotional moments that, as always, will disrupt the pacing, but knowing the Modern SMG4 fandom, they'll applaud and praise it.

For me, the real SMG4 ended in 2017. That was truly the very last good year of SMG4.

I'm surprised that Glitch finally decided to end SMG4, I suppose the show is no longer profitable for them. I just checked that the Murder Drones pilot surpassed Who Let the Chomp Out?, SMG4's most viewed video of all time, in views after 4 years.

I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I'm glad the series will finally rest in peace, but on the other, I'm really upset that they decided to end it so late, long after the series jumped the shark, hit rock bottom, and declined horribly.

My question is whether they'll reference SMG4 later on, given that they always avoid mentioning Sunset Paradise because of its association with SMG4. It's obvious Tari will continue to appear in crossovers, since the idea of Meta Runner existed before Tari was added to SMG4, but I wonder if they'll ever mention SMG4 in the future beyond only being mentioned in a strictly historical context, since it was what gave birth to Glitch Productions in the first place.

The choice was either letting it live and sucking up time and resources from whatever more profitable FOTM slop show they're working on, or keep it alive as a long dead husk of what it once was to appease the dwindling older audience (to an extent since SMG4 isn't even close to what it was before). The choice looks pretty obvious.
In other words, he's becoming even more of a sellout on GLITCH Productions and shilling to an audience who is only there to see his next FOTM production and not anything funny he could bother coming up with (by that I mean early SMG4). Would have been better if he never went past SMG4 back in the early days and just stuck to that, he was better at it than making any original shows anyways. Damn, whatever happened to just making videos for fun and not for money?

“the channel will be preserved as-is”

Minus the parts that were removed/censored in 2020, but…

For me, Classic SMG4 lasted between "Hotel Mario" to "If Mario Was In... Starfox (Starlink Battle For Atlas)" (inclusive).

I am reacting to this the same way I would react if "The Simpsons" finally gets a series finale.

You know, it's really ironic that you call the Lerdwichaguls greedy people who are only looking to make money, when many people, and not just the animation community, think that Glitch Productions is saving and revolutionizing the animation medium as a whole. And I mean it when I say that many people think that, because even stuff like Animation Magazine is talking about them now. Basically, Glitch Productions is the best Western Animation studio in the World right now in the eyes of many, they are supposed to be the antithesis of big studios like Disney or Warner Bros., their name is synonymous with quality animation; therefore, every series they produce is an instant masterpiece (except for SMG4, Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise, the mainstream doesn't give a shit about those).

When people say "Indie Animation is beating Corpos', "Indie Animation is the only way now" or "Long Live Indie Animation", they're really only referring to Glitch, and there's a good reason: compared to other Indie Animation studios, they're practically the only ones to have achieved this status. The creator of Lackadaisy knew this, and that's why he allowed Glitch to buy his show; otherwise, it would have faded into obscurity.

Seriously, look at everything else we have: Lackadaisy is theirs now, so it doesn't count anymore. Vivziepop is reaching lolcow status as many people are losing respect for her due to the terrible decisions she makes on her shows (and because, in general, she's a terrible person), to the point that the Homestuck pilot received mixed to negative reviews, even though she had no involvement in the production beyond financing it. Everything else has cult following or is straight up obscure: There's Monkey Wrench, which I keep forgeting; it's mentioned often, but it seems like nobody really cares outside of its small group of fans. I bet the creator would like to pull a Lackadaisy and let Glitch buy his series too. I mean, just look at this:

There's Space King, which I haven't seen yet, but I've heard good things about it. However, it's not very popular; the mainstream isn't interested. Everything else is hit or miss; many pilots come and go every month, most fail and fade into obscurity. Some get short-lived fanbases like that Pretty Please I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl thing. I remember that the main character received a lot of fanart earlier this year, especially crossover fan art where she appears alongside Pomni and the Murder Drones characters, but after a month, everyone forgot about it.

And then there is the black sheep of the Indie Renaissance: Skibidi Toilet. Seriously, Skibidi Toilet has grown and changed a lot; it has surprisingly good cinematography and animation, and now, DaFuq!?boom! is expanding the brand. He posted this on his Community tab a few days ago:

Screenshot_2025-10-30-08-27-18-10_f9ee0578fe1cc94de7482bd41accb329~2.jpg

It's a real shame that Skibidi Toilet is still known in the mainstream as that stupid old meme of the SFM toilets (One thing I should mention is that they stopped animating in SFM and now animate in Unreal Engine, although they still use the SFM assets), completely unaware that it has lore or even a plot.

Fun fact: Gooseworx hates Skibidi Toilet

Screenshot_2025-10-30-12-07-43-31_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12~2.jpg

And, to be honest, Skibidi Toilet made the transition from funny to serious much better than SMG4. In fact, I dare to say that Skibidi Toilet takes itself much more seriously than stuff like Murder Drones. Speaking of which, what do you think of this fan animation?:

Minus the parts that were removed/censored in 2020

They're going to keep pretending that Starman3 doesn't exist.
