Goblins - Bad Webcomic wants to be a cartoon feat. Billy West, Jim Cummings, Steve Blum. Creator trooned out

Funny that Mary Cagle got mentioned too. A while back she was making fun of the art of some Chinese gacha game or moba game or whatever and surprise surprise the actual artist caught wind of what she was saying and was basically highlighting her hypocrisy and mean spirited jabs while she basically floundered about looking like a complete ass. Never did apologize as far as I know or give a sincere apology. Don't have it archived cause it was a twitter slapfight and otherwise she doesn't have much lolcow in her unless I'm mistaken somehow.
Nothing I'm aware of other than being a fat childless weeaboo femcel spouing the current year politcs. So background noise at this point.

Imagine lacking this much self awareness
It's like that 4chan cap about how every fetish evolves into a more exaggerated and outlandish version, except we've just discovered that it all converges into hormone replacement therapy. Kind of a disproportionate way to treat your pornography addiction don't you think?

I thought I'd check and see if anything funny was happening with this guy.

... Well. Looks like there are no brakes on this train.

What's the deal with the animated series? I just noticed the website still says they're working on getting a 5 minute TRAILER for it started. I'd have thought they'd have the pull to get this shit up and running with those big name voice actors attached to the project.
It's finished (announcement of the completion was just shy of the 4 year mark), but the animation is considered subpar, so it will not be released to the general public. Stated plan is to show it to the people that they are making their pitches to, and explain to them how the art will be better if they are given a ton of money for season 1 of this.

Apperently this can be a valid thing to do, since releasing a subpar animation can taint it to a future audience, but it just comes across as just being an absurd decision, in my mind. Not even a warning beforehand. They must have known they would be doing this for awhile now, but they waited. I honestly can't imagine Goblins being the first western webcomic to ever make a major studio deal. Why would they pick that, as opposed to something like Girl Genius? Then again, I don't understand how Thunt managed to get so many high profile people to help make the animation in the first place.

So where's the Animation?

Well, in a word...

We're not releasing it yet. We can. But we're going to hold off. Here's why.

We still are not fans of a lot of the animation that was created, and even though the second animation house fixed a lot of the most glaring errors, we are simply stuck with some of the things that the first house produced. We debated alternatives to continue pushing toward the original vision, but the issue is that the animation is finished. This makes it hard for us because if we release this thing wide, it will please our audience because they are receiving the thing they helped create, but it will not be what we want the final show to look like, and once people have a completed vision of something it is very hard to say, "but what we want it to look like for reals is this over here..." especially when the voice work is so on point, the music is amazing, and the jokes are landing because it is so well acted. This also muddies the waters because the internet is the internet and once a genie is out of the bottle, it is impossible to put back. So even though the animation is right here and only a click away, you guys will have to hold on a bit longer as we do the run of the studios and streaming services to get Goblins out to market the way we want it to be. So, I'm afraid for the time being we must ask you to be patient.

I've recently been looking around for other forums talking about Thunt. I've been reading Goblins since just before the end of book 1. My avatar is actually one of the creatures from the start of book 2. I've been a pretty heavy critic of Thunt for the majority of this time, but I've stuck to complaining about her on the Order of the Stick forums until now (after I decided that complaining on the official forums was just going to get me ganged up on. Early days, I was always talking about the need to switch to a one page update schedule, rather than multi page updates, which eventually happened, although not with any consistency).

I just found out about the deletion of all the Tempts Fate comics from the website. This has been something of a breaking point for me with shedding the last ounce of respect I had for her that I wasn't aware I still had. So far, I haven't seen anyone else being especially upset about it though. One person suggested that there was some sort of tax troubles around them? Another person posted some links to BadComics forum that talks about it, but the links just went to the last pages.

There is some wild stuff just in the recent posts. A new Gofundme was started.

https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-ell...ow-1&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer

I did actually know about that earlier, and was mad because she failed to thank everyone after raising the amount needed (she did do a quick twitter thank you at the 60%ish mark though), and not closing the Gofundme. I haven't seen many of these but I would assume that they are generally supposed to be ended after you raise enough money. She never ended her previous Gofundme either.

What I didn't know was that Thunt's father has been posting there in the last couple dozen pages. I remembered reading her complaining about him on twitter, so that, along with the content of the posts makes me feel that this is actually the dad, and I was blown away by the revelation that the "great guy" Thunt's mom started dating after being raped was him, and she never mentioned this to the father? I never had reason to not believe that story before but now?

I'm somewhat surprised Thunt does not count as a lolcow since the transition. The stuff on her twitter was just so over the top. One bit that has always bothered me is she would complain about Scarlett Johansson playing the roll of a trans character, cause LGBT must be played by LGBT you know, while ignoring that the voice actor for Big Ears, a gay character, is straight.

-Then there is all the hypnosis stuff. I remember when she was being ripped up online for that hypnosis joke, and now she just constantly does them.

-She also fetishizes her breasts. Not only making lots of barely covered pictures, but all these mentions of always playing with her breasts, as if she is a horny teenager that got transformed into a girl for a day.

-She asked her own twitter followers if being called cis is offensive, and some actually replied that they actually didn't like the term, which surprised me. She acted sympathetic at the time, but then promptly decided that she didn't actually care, because it's totally not offensive at all, according to TRAs like her. She even went so far as to beg William Shatner to please try and be more understanding to all those poor trans that call him cis, cause it's really not offensive at all, you know? Thunt was so hurt that Shatner turned out to be a transphobe, due to not agreeing that cis isn't an offensive term. Boo, fucking, hoo.

-I remember when she was a guy and she said she doesn't respect being trans if you don't put in the work. I will respect that she has personally put in the work, but that is just her. She constantly talks about how you don't need to put in the work at all. Just because you are trans now doesn't mean you need to just dunk into the deep end. I know she understands that Jessica Yaniv gives all trans a bad name but what does she actually disagree with. Yaniv is the manifestation of everything these people want for their movement.

There was so much of this stuff on her twitter. Posting has slowed down, but it was just a flurry of stuff for a long time, and it's not like it has stopped.

Your post is quote bugged.

Also, Thunt=she lol

Will confirm this is a 100% legit strat. If the product is dogshit, you take it to the studio heads to show you've got a concept especially if the audio is good. Thunt being able to pull it off is whole other thing.

As to how he got them involved, simple: Money. He paid premium prices for a short shot of voice acting work. If he gets the series approved, likely the main cast would get some replacements.
I had a friend who got together with 10 people to get Jen Taylor to do a custom Voice Mail message for them as Cortana, cost everyone $5, and Jen made $50 for 5 minutes of work at the end of session. Its locking down a VA to series work which take a bit of doing, and even then "Money" solves nearly all your issues.

Honestly, if Thunt plays his cards right, he could (lie and) pitch his shit as "Goblin Slayer from the Goblin's perspective" and probably get greenlit for a pilot.

I've been reading Goblins since just before the end of book 1.
The important thing is to seek treatment for you condition now, even if you should have been treated sooner.

Thunt has been a lowcow forever. But he's been tard wrangled by someone else and what I can only imagine is a lingering sense of shame into having brief episodes of complete cowdom and then complete radio silence.
I guess start a thread if you think there's enough content to sustain one?

I just found out about the deletion of all the Tempts Fate comics from the website.
I have no idea WTF this is,care to enlighten?

Um, it all looks fine to me. Is it the links?

Tempts Fates is a character in “Goblins” who endures risky adventures for the sake of risking his life. . Ellipsis said the point of the Tempts Fate was to generate revenue to cover her cost in creating the comic. Tempts Fate must overcome several challenges per story arc. The goals are displayed either at the top or bottom of the Tempts Fate’s web page. If the donation goal is met, then Tempts Fate will obtain his goal. At first the goals were financial but starting with Tempts Fate 7, goals may include solving a puzzle.

You can still see them in the archives. Older archives are actually done better than more recent ones.

There were 12 listed fundraisers on that page. Technically, there were 13. The original Tempts Fate 9 was a very cool RPG donation drive where you could create a character and then send it into a dungeon. Everyone was excited about this. A lot of posters made characters and did a forum roleplay of it. One of them, a user called Worst Case, even made a comic featuring everyone!

I don't care what you think about Goblins itself, but this was a very fun webcomic that took a lot of work to draw and I will always appreciate her having done this. Thunt promised to post it on her website, but that was a lie. She also deleted a lot of fancomics that she had actually posted on the main page in the early years, back when she still felt guilty about not posting comics more often and felt she needed some sort of content during her "breaks".

Anyway, the original TF9 was canceled an hour or two after it launched, supposedly due to high demand. Thunt wanted everyone to be able to play, so she said it would be done later on. Because she didn't want to return the money donated. She created TF 8.5, and added the money donated to that instead.

In fairness, there was a person that was working on a way to help automate things, and I actually talked to that programmer and was told that it was finished. However, she still deleted all her work on the project, and launched a more standard Tempts Fate 9 donation run.

Tempts Fate 11 is the one most people talk about, because she never released a comic page that she was supposed to. She even has a little comic stating that it would be finished at the end of TF11, which she eventually deleted when she realized that she didn't want to bother.

Nowadays, she can just beg for money on patron and gofundme, so she doesn't need Tempts Fate anymore, and I just found out the entire thing was deleted a few days ago. I'm pretty upset about it.

No, its a forums bug. Nothing you can do, I'm just telling you replies to your post will be fucky because it doesn't have a reply button.

Thunt is doing a new fundraiser. This time to help a friend that is apparently being abused.

The bit that interests me is this.

"100% of the money gained will go to June and be used purely to get her into her new home. I'll be posting updates on June's situation to all donators, so you can join me in watching her and Bob get somewhere safe and happy."

I'll confess to not knowing at all how GoFundMe works, but I know Thunt hasn't bothered posting anything on her twitter account about her previous two GoFundMes, so I've been assuming hasn't been updating anyone. You don't give your email for GoFundMe either, right?

There doesn't seem to be an update page for this either, but maybe there is an option. I feel like she is talking about updating on twitter instead.

In related news, Thunt's previous GoFundMe is still up, by the way. Like, why is it still up? She organized both of these, so it's not like could forget about it, since the information would be right there when she logs in to make a new one.

- If June is such a wonderful person, why not put them up in your house since you're close enough to hold them while they were crying?
-If not June, why not foster Bob so she can get to a women's shelter and back on her feet and able to get bob back and visiting when possible?

Answer: because then there is no grift.

The downward spiral continues.

Thunt's first sexual encounter with a man and first cockslap to the face (going right from 0 to 90 apparently):

Barely-censored nudes:

Fetish roleplay roll call:

I literally just finished looking at the twitter thread, and was about to post. Jesus Christ.

This isn't being supportive anymore (assuming it ever was), Danielle is enabling a toxic relationship. FUCK HIM. I don't give a shit about respecting your gender identity anymore, you absolute skank. Thunt is garbage. Pure garbage. How the hell can you justify doing this to the woman that has had your back DESPITE ALL THIS SHIT. Get over your BDSM fetish and start thinking about someone else, FOR ONCE IN YOUR FUCKING LIFE.

I've hated a lot of things Thunt has done over the years, but cheating on his wife takes the cake. I've officially reached the point of feeling complete contempt, and disgust, for the man. I'm sure he got permission, but who is the one pushing for an open marriage? You don't have to answer, we all know. Since when was Thunt into men, anyway? Being trans is not an excuse to start catching up on all the gay sex you missed out on as a lad, you know, and to act like it's some sort of empowering act of transness... What is wrong with these people? His marriage will end badly, and the sooner, the better. His wife is too good for this moron.

Who would have guessed it would end up like this. I remember back in the say. Thunt made a joke about hypnotizing all the women of the world, and some woman freaked out, which lead to a massive sandal and he ended up donating money to a woman's shelter. For a joke. How tame those days were. After that, he shut up about his hypnosis kink.

That is, he shut up until coming out as trans, and now feels emboldened to just go hard into the BDSM culture.

As for the photos. I had already seen those. Not the first time it's happened. More interestingly, the same day as those nudes went up, she had posted, "I'm feeling really unpretty and dysphoric. I look at those two pics I just posted and all I see is... "him". It's hard not to cry."

The previous pics not being the nude ones. I suspect that the nudes were specifically taken to counter the bad feelings that came from the clothed pictures. I suppose that was probably the reason for doing it the previous times as well. Fishing for complements by showing your nude body to feel like a "real" woman.

In other news the gofundme got the money. No announcement of the goal being reached yet, as per the usual.

On a different note, I no longer think Goblins even has a CHANCE to be made into a cartoon at this point. Imagine some big company that is thinking about investing millions of dollars into a Goblins cartoon. You think they won't be doing a check on how the author acts in public? Does a company want some exhibitionist that cheats on his wife as the sort of trans icon? This has public relations disaster written all over it, and no amount of "but trans" will be able to paper over just how terrible it would be to back a guy like this. Thunt is at the point where his public personality will actively hurt any major project that comes from him.

Did it ever though? They'd have to write entirely new material since the original comic has such a focus on scarring, mutilation, disfigurement, and dismemberment. And new material is out of the question for a guy who can't even write his own comic anymore.

I've hated a lot of things Thunt has done over the years, but cheating on his wife takes the cake.
"Cheating" barely even begins to describe it, but I don't know what a better word is. What with that entire stable of "submissives" plus the gay man and who knows how many others, he has a vast extramarital fetish life, which seems to take up most of his mindshare. "Abandonment" is maybe the word.

Did it ever though?

I honestly have no idea how likely the cartoon creation has or had.

I always felt it was extremely unlikely. To my knowledge, there has never been a single American webcomic that has broken through to a studio backed animation. Some people mentioned a show called Hazbin Hotel, but that was built, from the ground up as an animation, so it doesn't count. Even something like Girl Genius, which has had novels sold in local stores, hasn't broken through.

All that said... I would assume that there is SOME basis for all this talk about a studio picking it up. I also heard that some of those big name voice actors were fans of the comic and didn't want to get paid to show support? Someone mentioned that recently in the bad comics forum.

Plus, you can get a lot of mileage these days just on the basis of saying you are LGBT. I wouldn't have been surprised if the fact that the artist is trans, and is moderately successful, was enough of a reason for some company to throw some money Thunt's way.

But with all this absurdity? No way. Any deal made will involve a complete scrubbing of that twitter account, cause no one is going to want to use Thunt to advertise yourself to the public. How can a person be THIS tone deaf to the damage
