Godzilla: King of the Monsters - Long Live the King

Just saw the one brother preordering tickets for March 31 and noticed the theaters have been filling up. Expecting a good-sized audience that night. I want some high energy.

EDIT: He got to March 31 too late, April 1 is movie night.

Anyone else gonna try and see this on opening night? I totally forgot it's March 31st. I haven't been to the theaters since Joker I think so this will be a nice outing.

I got my ticket for the night of the 31st. Also my theater is doing social distancing, so I won't have to deal with anyone sitting near me.
 
Ok back from the movie. I'm not good with words, so here is my short review. The human stuff wasn't as jarring as in the previous movie, the fight scenes were really good, a real spectacle for the eyes, worth seeing in a theatre. One thing i'll add is there was some pretty wacky stuff with the hollow earth stuff, but like 2-3 weeks back I was watching Godzilla vs Biolante and Godzilla vs Space Godzilla, I am perfectly 100% fine with wacky in my Godzilla movies. I still haven't had my Kaiju fix knowing that Singular Point will be out soon. I really liked this movie, but I can't wait for Singular Point for more freaky I'm a natural disaster birthed by Satan Godzilla like in Shin Godzilla.

One of my favorite Godzilla films is Godzilla Vs. The Smog Monster, and I also love the Showa Gamera films...I love wacky! lol.
 
All I really cared for at this point were the kaiju battle sequences, and if they're really good, then I'm happy. Hnnnngh why is a week so far awaaaaay.

Not to be a sad kunt but this actually worries me. I'm personally waiting for audience ones, they're always more reasonable and not backed by financial pledges.

Not to take away from the excitement, Skull Island was one of my favorite monster flicks in a long time, but audience scores and critic scores always seem to inverse each other.
 
The "critics consensus" practically spells it out this is a monster flick, you all know it's a monster flick, and you're going to get your monster action. Which is interesting given what they said about KOTM, but in the other Godzilla thread a Kiwi had early access to the film and had positive things to say about it. So still gonna remain cautiously optimistic.

I'd call bullshit if it was a certified fresh, honestly. There's only 29 critic reviews, as the number grows, the rating will drop to a reasonable percentage you'd expect from these people.

To be fair, KOM resonated with the capeshit consoom crowed like Movieblob, so a high critic rating is actually relevant to us this time.

I gotta show this off here, this is really sick. Prime 1 Studio is making a Godzilla bust, and the level of detail on it is so insane it will cost you an arm and a leg. The base is of his temple, so this is the clearest way we may ever get to see the wall art, statues and the podium itself.
