For some reason autists like Chris and Elliot thought that just because girls can get bfs by sitting around and doing nothing that it would work the other way.
I blame society for things like this, people are taught that everyone is the same, that there is someone for everyone, that opportunity will just show up for you. Chris probably figured, according to theory, that there would be women bold enough to approach him out of the blue. That he merely had to advertise he was single. Like many people in the contemporary era, the popular tropes and memes presented to them when they're young is proven complete bullshit as a rule. How many American students are up to their eyes in student loan debt because every adult told them to take out loans no matter the cost, no matter the course and how many academic and financial vultures fed on that lie?
A lot of the bullshit in society messing with people is due to the often pushed myth of equality and hard work bringing success when in reality humans are different on many levels and working smart and not hard is the way to success. If Chris was told the truth that life for men and women is experienced in fundamentally different ways, he may have been more successful.
I'm a bit biased though since I typically feel bad for incels. They're often compared to coomers or "male feminists" but unlike political feminists whose only legitimate concern that they talk about (abortion) is a result of someone either being irresponsible or having love lost, the incel's primary concern is with having a legitimate relationship. Their hatred for women and "alpha" men stems from the fact that no girl would go to dinner with them, whether they sat waiting patiently for her to ask him out or took the initiative.
It's also one of the most socially charged topics because having any sympathy for loneliness in men is considered a reflection of oneself as male loneliness and any sympathy for it is seen as pathetic. Whereas with women it's seen as tragic. It's kind of why I think very highly of the trollsona of Ivy over the other e-girlfriends. The saga is a genuine what if of Chris having an authentic girlfriend experience (whereas the others, even Catherine were
more about fucking with him) and how even if Ivy was legitimate that Chris had little respect for her outside of what she could do to stroke his emotional ego. That Chris, at least of 2009, didn't deserve a girlfriend.
