Problem, like you might pull that off in Iran (which I guess is already swimming in money and have cops driving on fuckin' Ferraris), Iraq pretty much got wrecked into the stone age (which is common for the USA gov to bomb everyone's shit, but never bother to really rebuild it much), and Afghanistan is a losing battle. Since the number of 1st world Muslims outnumber those in Afghanistan, seriously that place is such a rathole, that they'll gather in a Mosque where they'll watch TV about a beauty pageant and discuss which woman is a whore. Fuck, after WW2 they had so much money that they wanted to build a damn, but nearby villages river dried up and those fuckers never bothered going down a few blocks to see a big ass damn being build.

For me, it's the absurdity of the entire premise that this concert was put together on within the context of the game. Mary-Sue extraordinaire Fang is somehow important enough, that somehow there's a concert playing while the end of their civilisation is about to hit their location.

Civilization would fall months before the meteor hits anyway, with world-wide riots, massive shootings and rapes, the fact that none of that happened and a lot of people decided to go to Fang's concert, instead of, you know, being with their families in their last moments reeks of "main character syndrome", Fang truly is the center of the world, the people who wrote the story surely live in a bubble.

I don't understand how GBVH's storyline was even accepted in any way. The premise itself is interesting enough and KO_PE fucking squandered it.

If they removed the meteor altogether so the plot would be like "Bunch of genderspecial teenagers feel anxiety because they're about to finish highschool" at the very least i could understand GVH having some appeal to some people.

I think someone mentioned in this thread that KO_OP wanted GVH to be a one-off thing since the very beginning, so they decided to kill the entire cast, that's probably the reason why decided to go with the meteor, despite it making the setting and plot a lot more retarded.

That's what I've been saying. While their small fanbase is hungry for more content, they make it clear that there's nothing left for them to add. I'm sure the reason being that the Cucknadian government won't give them money to lose again, and it took them six YEARS to create GVH, which I may remind you, they averaged an hour of gameplay per year.

Part of me wonders if it was one of those ideas that was more fleshed out in the original ideas and script, and it ended up a casualty of them ousting the old writer and all. I can easily seem them pulling a Life is Strange and having it be some big event where your choices actually matter, maybe by choosing love over the world or whatever. If they wanted it to just be a one-off, they could just not follow it up, closing the setting definitively (or "definitively," since you don't see everybody get turned into dino chunks at the end) just leaves money on the table.

Gris, a game that I disliked because of its boring and lackluster gameplay (and waste of breataking art) and little misfortune do offer slightly more reayability due to the hidden collectables, Little misfortune (another "your choices matters, except they don't" that I don't like but would rather re-play instead of GVH) still lets you more control over the character and thus over the game's pacing.

It was painfully boring, at least a terrible game can stick out in your mind for how bad it is. But this... I don't remember anything that happened besides Fatima acting like a cunt and actively pissing me off.

There was even a scene of Nasar mocking his parents accent, or somethin' like that.

There's a line in the game I recall vividly in spite of everything, it's something about Fatima having to pick between "her family and her culture" or "her true self" and how much she had to weigh that, nevermind that she didn't even get zipper tits or get on T or anything like that. Troon (lite) over family, in short. Throw everything else that made you who you are in favor of becoming a gender banshee. The game was terrible but since it's a self-insert fanfic you can glean a lot about the creators from what the characters are saying. They're mouthpieces. No love was put into this writing-wise, though I feel bad for the artists because some of the backgrounds looked absolutely gorgeous.

Stuff like the Owl House where its own creator admitted it was wish fulfillment about fucking high school.

It definitely speaks to the idea that these people are leading unhappy lives and unable to find self-fulfillment with who they are. As such, they shove these weird 'what-if' fantasies into modern media to try and make society fit their needs instead of the other way around. Controversially there was actually one really good scene in that game that did actually make me feel a little haunted even though I think the majority opinion is this scene was stupid, but it was the scene where Fatima was browsing her phone and there was a hint that there was going to be an asteroid impact. As she continues browsing there's pop ups of messages that are kind of dated memes on some social media app (I can't remember what it's called), but they all have that "doomer" tone to them that the world's going to end. She keeps browsing and the messages are now crowding up the screen and the screen starts turn to static implying a panic attack and then it goes black and Fatima is just like "...I need to go lie down."

It's like one scene they nailed the premise down, but afterwards it just gets sidelined for narcissistic bullshit.
