ok, I finished one of the endings of snoot game, its alright, I am not really a fan of these kind of visual novels tbh but I guess it was enough to hold my interest.
Writing is alright, some of the art is good, and it can be funny at times.
On a maybe controversial opinion, I actually believe that if the actual Volcano High game manages to deliver onmaking every choice count, I think I would actually enjoy it more than this one tbh, I dont think they will be able to, but I want to actually judge it fairly

Ending 4 of 4 is the True Ending, 3/4 is the bittersweet one, ending 2 is just a total downer and ending 1 is a masterpiece in how far to push things into insane territory and still be somewhat classy about it.

I'm mostly satisfied with it. But it does show that Lucy never did grow to be her own properly, she still has a strong dependance for emotional support, though instead of Trish's toxic retardation she swapped to a much more down to earth Anon, but it doesn't change that without him she is for the most part frozen in place. She at least relies on family now and god knows Nacer deserved some consiliation with Lucy, guy is a total bro.

I still file it as a good ending, just with extra steps since Anon will eventually get her to give music a proper go again plus getting back in contact with some of the old gang. I hope they have plenty finned human monstruosities as well. Though this ending could have been pure horror if she ended hitched to somebody else.

On the circumstances, would have appreciated more of a reason why Anon had to go into the army, also, I expected a lot more fallout from his weebness being exposed, it was a non factor the next day, maybe in another route. I also thought breaking all social interaction with Rosa and Stella was weird since at a minimum I would expect Rosa to at least get a proper apology plus star gazer plan going. But I get this last bit was to make the end game situation cleaner.

Looking forward to doing the other routes and bonus stories.

As for the rest, music is pasable but does good on the more intimate moments. The art is alright though there are a few bits that really standout, the Fang full hug is adorable for example.

Definitely enjoying it. Also played Katawa Shoujo in it's time and playing Pokemon Clover and enjoying them, so it's a surprisingly good batting average for these 4 chan passion projects.

As for GVH... even if it comes out, I cannot see it not making Fang a raging cunt, no matter the situation. The moment the most important thing in their discord is to grandstand on how non binary she is, that pretty much tells me all I need to know. Hell, they might go full tranny since non binary is like the most milquetoast gender retardation you can go with.

Also prefer Snoot art a lot more.

GVH won't be able to deliver at all on that, I'm willing to bet that its just going to be an almost entirely linear story with choices that end up with the same results.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the opposite though since non binary dropped off hard in the genderspecial totem pole. So basically initially non binary but now the "good route" would involve going full zipper chest and not ending on a 41%.

Ending 3 is great in particular because it not-so-subtlety shits on people who play it purely out of being reactionary. IE

The way the game decides your ending is with a points system, you earn Anon Points and Fang Points and depending on how many of each type of point you have you get a particular ending. You earn points by choosing actions which allow Anon and Fang to grow as people and self actualize, Ending 3 is what happens when you get full or near full Anon Points but miss Fang Points. Ending 2 is by missing Anon Points and gaining a lot of Fang Points and Ending 1 is being functionally retarded and picking all of the worst options.

Although in Patch 7 they roped Ending 4 off behind a special flag, to get Ending 4 you MUST select "remain silent" at all three spots during the rooftop conversation where you catch Fang "preening", you probably earned enough points for Ending 4 but chose one of the "Interrupt" options and locked yourself out.

Edit to add: @ShitLurker the weebiness exposed matters more the worse route you get. In Endings 1/2 it matters a lot in Endings 3/4 it's a non-issue.

Well that got somber fast. I expected the school shooting ending to be more of a meme, but it was very fucking raw. Only part that annoyed me was the vapid whore Trish having Anon as an excuse to ignore her own fault of that tragedy happening.

Next will be to hunt for ending 2 and finally 4. Also quick question. Better to do the bonus scenes between endings or power through at the end? Mostly if they are route context or generic. For example I've unloked a Naomi bonus story but it's a different thing if it's pre route lock or if it assumes route 1 or 3.

It honestly threw me for a loop. Once Anon started playing the pronoun game I thought the end was him becoming a betacuck. So it kind of came out of nowhere how he told her it was all bullshit due to daddy issues while drunk (though there was a catharsis to telling "fang" to her face in such a raw way). Once they broke up, well, pretty much what I expected to happen to Lucy if left to her retard friends, same deal with anon just being an aimless loser if left on his own. Seeing the options I'm firmly in team tradwife on my way to ending 4

The whole theme of the game is learning to self actualize and take responsibility for your own actions and personality, every character fails to do so in one way or another in every ending that isn't Ending 4, and this is Trish's issue throughout the game. If you ask around on the /trash/ threads there's a wal kthrough that can guide you to the different endings if you're just looking for completion. And yeah, it's amazing that some fucking /v/ spergs can write a school shooting scene that is graphic and raw while simultaneously being emotionally impactful and even tasteful on some level.

Most of the bonus scenes are basically addendums to Ending 4 so I'd wait on them until you unlock that.

Sure, it is a hell of a lot better than ending 1 and 2, but Lucy, as many of you have pointed out, never really resolves her dependency issues. She seems happy, but you can't be sure. Cleverly, the game never points this explicitly out, so I'm sure there are some posessive players out there, who think ending 3 is the bestest of all.
This is something GVH won't be able to pull off in my opinion, because the devs would never allow "wrong think" to exist, so I expect the game to be incredibly hamfisted, if it ever sees the light of day.

Honestly, it was pretty much a constant sugar high from divergence to end, specially after the hell holes that were ending 1 and 2. The visit to the Aquarium was adorable and unlike in route 3. Lucy didn't become emotionally frail when confronted by Trish and that allowed things to get cleared up oh so much better, that simple "you humilliated my boyfriend, I'm pissed, fuck you and give me time to cool down" conversation on the roof avoided so much bullshit. Hell, the route even managed to get me to kind of warm up to Trish (though something tells me a real life equivalent would have been a lot harder to get off the Kool Aid)... and when she's an adult she is a fiiiiine looking Trigga.

It also had those great pangs of humor. Naser's Monkey jacket got a huge chuckle out of me as well as the "no Mr Spears, I'm just taking the word back" and "Homo History Month". Also, the Ye campaign joke with Naomi hits SO MUCH MORE today than when it was originally added

Though I liked Chadnon more, Lucy is definitely at her best in route 4, hell, that she managed to patch things off with Naomi speaks volumes.

As for other characters. Naser is my favorite supporting character. Finally got the deets about the crippled wing and was kind of surprised that all of Lucy's trauma pretty much came from that single event and it all just spiraled out when she stuck with Trish and the stupid bitch found Tumblr. At least now I know what Naser and Lucy talked about in Moe's joint during Route 3. And well, he is just a bro no matter what route you are in, even though he's a huge doofus at times.

Spears is also an awesome time, if schools had more principals like him a lot of stupid shit would just be cut from the root.

Reed is probably the character that disappointed me the most. He seemed like the wise stoner but pretty much in all the routes he just defaults to going with Trish's bullshit even when it's obvious it's not a good for anybody. Guess he was just a stoner that had moments of brilliance and a crush on Trish.

As for Rosa, she was fine for what she was needed for, though I expected Stella to be a bit more relevant since she does seem the pseudo 4chan stand in. But it was a fine ensemble, I did get a special liking to hot dog lady and taxi guy.

Now I just have the bonus scenes left, specially looking forward to what Metal Gear Raymba has to say

I'd file it as "good enough" ending since you can see it becoming ending 4 with a few extra steps (and no Trish, there's no repairing that bridge) assuming Chadnon sticks to what he says. But yes, it's definitely bitter sweet, not good. Hell, the real tragedy of that ending isn't so much losing her friends circle from school (lets not fucking kid ourselves, tons of people never interact with anybody from school after they finish and are perfectly fine, and a Trish that doesn't admit her fault is a Trish you do not want anywhere near you, specially if Reed will enable her), it's that she stopped playing music, that's the real sad part of the ending.

Lucy dropping the punk rock is just a teenger a phase and getting out of the gender retardation is the equivalent from escaping from a cult, those were just a part of growing up, but music is at the core of her, without her music so much of who she is and what she's poured into becomes hollow. Hence why she is completely aimless once anon leaves and manages to find some solace in taking care of kids. Well that and she always felt like she never showed her true self to the world, her solo song in the Prom was the first time proper that she beared her soul at others and they acknowledged her. Ending 1 and 2 were unable to show their real soul, just a parody from all the confusion and angst they had, and Ending 3 did find her soul, but instead of showing it to the world, she hid it in the deepest patch of her heart till Chadnon came back.

Hence Route 4 Lucy best waifu.

Yeah ending 3 can be expanded upon. It is implied Lucy still has a little Fang in her, which could lead to many outcomes, based on Anon's actions.
If he keeps the status quo, Lucy could lead a happy, but somewhat unfulfilled life. She may turn to some light drinking to fill the hole that was left in her by abandoning all her dreams.
If Anon pushes his luck and becomes more and more like Lucy's father, they could end up getting divorced.
Anon could also encourage Lucy to take up her old hobbies again.

Well, it's hard to not be superior when you exist and the competition doesn't. But the most important thing about Snoot Game is that it stands on it's one merits. Have no relation to GVH and call it Anon's scaley fetish and it's still a good time.

GVH on the other hand is fucked from the outset since

1. It's still a laughinstock and a meme.
2. It will never be something honest and heartfelt. You can't be honest and heartfelt the moment you have to fear stepping over eggshells over what you can say or do or show.
3. It's taken too long for what it was supposed to be. So now they are stacking extra pressure since, like how Lucy knew deep down that 2 bass on a band was too much for her, they will add junk to ty and standout, fail miserably and become even more of a laughingstock.

I certainly look forward to this thread creeping back up on 2025 when they release whatever crap they manage to tape together.
