Goodbye Volcano High - "The Future of Gaming", The Parody Game of the Beloved Snoot Game Franchise

That just proves how much more personality Snoot has over GBVH. SHOESTRING BUDGET OF 1.5 MILL LEAF DOLLARS! YEEEEEEEEEEAH!

Depends on if anyone has the gumption to open up Ren'Py and get cracking.
Once I'm off work for the weekend, I'll pop the bottle and try my hand at it. I still need to plan out the entirety of this project though. I'll also probably need artists and composers because I can't draw for shit and I'm not familiar with any musical instruments.

As much as i like the idea of a post-apocalyptic story in the snootverse. I think i'd enjoy more either a mod or fanfic about the meteor before it hits earth, and the characters coping with end of civilization. You know something that really bothered me in GVH is how nobody cared about the meteor, the teenagers and their first-world problems were the focus (that's why i hate most media aimed at teens and young adults), and i'm sure the Snoot game cast would handle things differently, just imagine characters like Moe, who has connections to the mafia, Ripley who is Chief of police or ending 3 Anon, who is a soldier, all of them trying to deal with all the riots, mass shootings, and all chaos on Volcadera because an asteroid is going to hit earth in less than 6 months.

That would be a much better story than whatever the hell GVH was trying to be.
I wonder if the devs intentionally made the ending of the world the only possible ending in the case of it becoming popular enough for people to ask for a sequel, they can be like "nah bro, they're dead."

I'd love a Shadow of Chernobyl/Children of Men/The Road style sequel to this shit. It'd be absolutely hilarious watching KO_OP squirm under the strain of attempting to write actually dark subject matter.

Considering that GVH was released as a buggy and incomplete mess of a game, i wouldn't be surprised if KO_OP just wanted to release the game and be donde with it, i doubt they'll touch the property ever again. And that's a good thing, if Cavemanon wants to use the Snoot Game cast again, let's say say a direct sequel set a few years after ending 4, they'll just need a few redesigns and name changes, i doubt the people at KO_OP would care anyway.

Despite this being a one-off game, they sure did let Snoot Game rustle their jimmies.
If they go the route of basically abandoning the property as you suggest (I think it's likely) that would still be a stupid move. They're known for being the company that took way too long to make a Canadian government-funded scalie visual novel, and that's their only claim to fame. The rest of their stuff is just little appstore games that no one really cares about.

Even if they do that im sure they wont allow snoot to have their fun, their pettyness is boundless, dont forget the shittaku (kotaku) article

Again, it's wasted opportunity. Make a few animated shorts to put on Youtube, put some cutesy character plushies in the store, and you'd have a cashcow.

And then there's the normalfags that will just ruin everything they touch within like a month or two once it becomes popular.

That's sounds really disconcerting, but it's true. I guess the reason why the Snoot Fandom seems to be somewhat "sane" it's becase Snoot Game itself is still pretty niche, i mean, it's a visual novel based on a interactive movie about LGTV+ dinosaurs, can't get much more niche than that.

But imagine for a moment that Snoot Game/I wani hug that gator gets big enough to turn into an animated web series, and it reaches the same levels of popularity similar to The Amazing Digital Circus, i... just can't imagine things ending well. Some things are just better off staying relatively obscure.

One word:

Snootsonas

Alright I've made some further plans with this project I'm working on. Here's what I'm going to do with some of the characters:
Fang: Is going to be a "rockergirl". Basically she's a nomad (think of the nomads from Cyberpunk 2077) who drives around with her husband Anon and they perform at live shows in "tunnel cities" (underground cities) while also doing merc work for human hubs. These are going to be the main characters that will work with the protagonist (undecided on who protagonist is at the moment). She'll have an 80's sort of metal style get up along with Anon. You'll see some people in tunnel cities wearing VVORM DRAMA jackets kind of like SAMURAI from CP2077.

Reed: A total chem addict. Lost his eye in an unreliable story about a firefight. Has a "theoretical" degree in astro physics and mans a powerplant alongside his buddy Sage in one of the tunnel cities. Basically he'll be mostly the same from the Snoot Game canon with maybe a wink and a nod to Fallout New Vegas' Mr Fantastic.

Ms Roberts (GVH Canon): The mother character for the protagonist. The party's diplomat. Still developing, but I honestly wanted to add her into my canon.

Sage: The disappointingly unused character from GVH to Snoot Game. He's basically Arcade Ganon. He's the straight man to Reed's chem fueled antics. He'll describe Reed's antics as just "randomly mashing buttons when they light up. That's really all he has to do." He's kind of a know it all and a redditor. Will probably have an Arcade Ganon sort of look to him.

Anon: Basically Johnny Silverhand. "Wake the fuck up worm, we got ourselves feds to burn." Wears a mask everywhere he goes that obscures his face. Performs live with this mask as well. Calls himself Anon.

Stella: I don't know what to do with her yet.

Rosa: Again, not sure yet.

Naser: Possibly the main antagonist of the entire story. Is a Pangean Resurgence fed who's trying to hunt down Fang and Anon and his group of nomads from spreading rebellion against the Pangean government.

Naomi: Former doctor who worked for the Pangean Resurgence (basically the Enclave from Fallout 2). Now works as a traveling doctor with Fang and Anon. Still developing.

Trish: The most bullish member of the nomads. Doesn't trust outsiders at all. Will actively antagonize the protagonist and get into arguments with him.

Protagonist: Unsure what to make him. I thought about making him a Joshua Graham style character where he wears bandages around his face from the Asteroid hot cloud. He'll be ex-military because I like writing ex-military characters. He'll also be human.

Anyhow, these are just some ideas I'm brainstorming. Would love to hear feedback.

Some discords servers already fears it might happen with the surge of popularity of snoot

Id ask what popularity, since this is still a VN game with furries and those are dime a dozen.
Especially VNs with better writing and more interesting character designs. That are free or far, far below 30 dollars. Also depending on your tastes, they can be NSFW or as SFW as degenerate video games can be.

I'd love a Shadow of Chernobyl/Children of Men/The Road style sequel to this shit. It'd be absolutely hilarious watching KO_OP squirm under the strain of attempting to write actually dark subject matter.
This implies they'll even muster up the energy to make another game. These devs seem to be some of the most laziest I've seen in recent history.

I briefly skimmed Cavemanon's stream of GVH and everything about it looks so low-effort for what's supposed to be a 'passion project' (yeah right).

When the trailer came out back in the day; viewers had the impression that at least the game would be like an interactive cartoon and almost everything would be animated. But alas it's the pseudo slideshow we got as-is.

It's practically a miracle how this game came out (to very little fanfare, of course) and how this didn't ended up as yet another vaporware project.

well spanish side had many known streamers play it and it has a new fandom there, is the english side is the same small but tame and i wish it stays that way
Again, I doubt even on the English side it'll gain that big popularity. Might get more notice, but it wont hit a huge level of popularity, since as I said furry VN games are dime a dozen. Franky, with NiTW existing, I doubt Snoot game will reach those levels, but even NiTW was a lightning in a bottle.
