It would have been Life is Strange tier trash, but GVH being such a disaster was the best possible outcome for everybody involved anyway.

KO_PE, and by extension, the rest of the world, got a very expensive lesson on how important narrative cohesion and versimilitude are to a game.
Snoot Game likely wouldn't have been such a success if GVH wasn't this bad.
The Fucking Leafs got one more thing to put on the scale of "funding DEI is retarded".

Call me optimistic, but I just hope KO_PE's next game is a disaster of similar amplitude, maybe that'll wake up the canadian government.
KO_PE Ceo:"Huh, the government sent us some flyers for MaID"

I really don't see any of their games succeed, they don't have the people that could make a success.

Their other games are boring looking puzzle games and other stuff you'd see in browser games sites during the early to mid aughts.

It also doesnt help that a good chunk of their team have left, thus leaving em with barely a skeleton crew.

That's extremely bad news for KO_OP. True to their name, they're a worker co-op.

I can't help but find it extremely ironic that KO_OP would accept money from the Canadian government, as worker co-ops are a left-wing libertarian idea.

Also a hilarious case study on why worker co-ops tend to fail. Mainly because few people are interested in joining one except for woke leftists, and we all know how woke leftists are at being productive or making good shit.

From what I recall, a good chunk of the team left because they constantly had to scrap and restart GVH, plus other team members left because they liked Snoot Game and said it achieved what they originally wanted, but with less a budget and constant hassle.

That's hilarious, and genuinely makes me wonder what Cavemanon would need to do in order to obtain the rights to GVH for real.

"Everything you've made so far has been a banger" says the delusional tranny wolf. KO_OP's CEO made this tweet which I'm pretty sure confirms that GVH bombed, it's not a surprise that they're moving on from gay dinosaurs into something new.

A part of me thinks its kinda sad but most of it just makes me laugh, these people got a spotlight in the PS5 reveal conference of all things and their game ended up being a complete laughingstock for years, and its only kept relatively relevant because some furries made a parody shitting on it

They'll hold onto it until the bitter end to spite Cavemanon, the only way they'll ever get their hands on it would be if KO_OP closes down and pawns off their IPs.

Why would they need the rights to GVH? outside of selling another game they wouldnt really need to own the IP to keep doing what they've doing, and arguably snoot game is done outside of fanfictions, id guess the one thing they could get out of it is some Snoot merch, i thought they had sold the chibi stickers at some point but i think those were from an artist

Sometimes i do wonder if KO_OP regrets having their game at the PS5 reveal, like you said, it became a laughingstock because of how out of place it felt, i mean imagine having a low-budget movie game about gay dinosaurs in the very same conference as the Demon's Souls Remake.

I would say a sequel to either Wani or Snoot, as they take place in the same universe.

But now that I think about it, the real reason would be for shits and giggles. Because they can.

I don't know what's worse, Wolf Nanaki STILL having snoot game live rent free in his brain, or the mouth breathers in the comments playing revolutionary and saying how Cavemananon will regret being in the wrong side of history

Everytime I see these people throw that sort of talk, I read it in Chris Chan's voice and it fits like a glove.

Also Carl from ATHF is in it.

I can't imagine anything made by KO_OP gaining any traction nowadays after GVH flopping. I mean, ¿Who are the audience for whatever KO_OP makes next, the dozen giga-autists that liked GVH but didn't buy it?.

This shit is being mostly funded by tax payer money to produce woke slop so I doubt that an "audience" is really that required.
maybe that'll wake up the canadian government.

Imagine a fucking game being what "awakes" (whatever the fuck that means) the canadian government.

Imagine thinking that the canadian government doesnt do what it does 100% intentionally.

Iirc there is a mod for Fallout Tactics thats...well, just look for yourself (funded by the canacuck bucks)

Anarchist lefitsts accepting money from the government to make art. That shows the government either is insanely stupid with what they do with tax payer money (its not like its their money) or are doing this intentionally
plus other team members left because they liked Snoot Game and said it achieved what they originally wanted, but with less a budget and constant hassle.

I wish I could be the fly on the wall when they had that conversation, when they said "Snoot Game is doing our game better than us, we cant keep pretending otherwise..."

The shitshow would have been majestic

to be fair, both games were equally gay made by similarly ideologically subverted groups. And both games will always live under the shadow of the originals (Snoot game and Demon Souls PS3).

Maybe buy the name and use it as the title of their newest beach theme dating game so a lot of pretty dino girls in bikinis.

If they do, please for the love of god, have the characters being adults, i'm getting tired of these "coming of age story set in high school", maybe i'm getting old, but to me that setting is getting kind of stale.

If anything, seeing Nanaki having an autistic breakdown over SG/Wani having a sequel while GVH becomes a dead IP would be worth it.

Yeah, i think some users have pointed that out before, KO_OP seems to be like a glorified adult daycare, that mostly produces shitty games nobody wants to play, if it wasn't for the Canadian government they'd have gone under years ago.

I wonder how Ko-op is doing these days, there's barely any news from them after they released that Knock-off of snoot game, did they went bankrupt already or something?
Not really, they did announce a new project they started. But, my guess it'll prob be some small indie or mobile game type thing.

True, the why i avoid VN, though cavemanon did a amazing job, is better not to poison the well, good thing they are working on their original IP exit 665 now

he is going to need lot of diapers

Just woke Canada things

Most VN appeal to the high schoolers anyway, so thats why its mostly set in high school. There is also the fact that the genre thrives the most in Japan and that country has a disturbing obssession with glorifying high school, mostly due to how society and culture works. Its actually rather sad to think about it, adulthood in Japan can be extremely depressing, with you needing to overwork yourself to near death or else you will be considered a failure, leading you to barely having any time for friends, love and mental health...which is why a lot of japanese media is set in high school and its almost always nearly perfect and formulaic...it was the last time they were happy (or at least happy compared to their current living situation), its peak escapism. Hell, this is the reason why nearly all modern isekai do not have the main character even entertaining any desire to go back home (as to most classic isekai at least have them wanting to do so even when it was impossible).

When you keep all of that in mind, you almost cant help but feel like its all of a subtle call for help.

With that said, when a VN isnt set in high school, its usually something more exciting like a detective mystery or maybe the characters are kidnapped SAW styled. Its rare to see a romance VN not set in high school and following actual adults.

I have a different theory. High school is such a popular setting because it is an almost universal experience, the vast majority of people have been through some kind of education in their teenage years so its a setting they feel familiar even with factoring in the differences there would be between a Japanese and the reader's school.

It's really mostly about the nostalgia. Your first love, childhood innocence and naivety and the whole aspect of pre-Salary Man rose tinted days. Yeah high school is pretty universal because the human experience is pretty universal but I can't think of another country with as high a suicide rate among working adults as in Japan, or percentage of hikikomoris and NEETs.
I feel like a VN/anime adaption of a VN like Clannad perfectly encapsulates that type of nostalgia and adds a twist of bittersweet that I won't reveal if you haven't and want to experience it.
A lot of escapism from Japan, and South Korea and some Chinese titles as well, is about the return to high school because that's when a lot of people "peaked". Which is actually pretty black-pilling to me.
