Also, since there will be another continuance, since I believe Barb is making the payments to 14BLC, I assume the bank will not be taking the house anytime this year?
Barb shouldn’t be taking care of herself, as the car accident clearly demonstrates, but the fact that she IS apparently keeping shit running should finally kill the debate of who’s spending habits where tanking the household finances on a monthly basis.

Hasn't he directly and proudly confessed to "soul-healing" his mommychu multiple times in his schizophrenic jail letters? If the prosecution gave a fuck, it seems like an open and shut case, so I'm not sure why the process is dragging on and on and on for him.
(Yes I do. It's because it's the US justice system, and therefore completely retarded and ineffectual.)

Your honor, my client clearly confessed to "soul-healing", not sexual assault.

Not sure if this has been asked yet since the thread has grown a lot since I left for work, but can't you only use a continuous 3 times? I'm no lawyer, but I feel like I heard that somewhere.

Those jerkops do not understand how important it is for chris to get back to barb and MLP.

You have a fine grasp of the situation. Chris and Barb have an enchanted relationship, and she's not getting any younger; they need to be back together. In many relationships, partners roll around and moan, thinking about other people they'd prefer to be with. Not so with the the Chandler-chus . . . as Chris undulates and whimpers on top of Barb's creaking form, her poor old synapses fire randomly as Chris imagines the fluffy orifices of Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. And they call this a crime? What a heartless world!

VERY FEW SHRINKS in the whole country have the toolbox to diagnose someone who is both Autistic as well as mentally ill.
Any shrink with more then a gender theory degree can handle such cases. Chris is not that special, he just very deep into his shit and never had proper treatment.

Only that shrinks are probably afraid to deal with trannies. Get Jordan Peterson on the case - now that would be epic.

I'm hoping at least people will write some letters trying to get Chris to reveal new info. Who am I trying to kid? It'll be the same merge/Jesus shitshow.

Here is the thing

"Some Autists" will behave like they have a mental illness because it fits their Autismo

"Some Mentally ill people" will also obsess like an Autist on things but not have the same autistic pathology.

In most states a Psychologist trying to do a diagnosis of Chris without the training would be at risk of their license.

Now IDK how the "Mental Disease or Defect" Statute reads in Virginia. It may not be relevant as I think Chris has demonstrated knowledge of right and wrong and understanding his actions have consequences. (which is enough in some states)

It’s been a while, no? We got 4-5 letters in a month or so, then nothing(that I know of, unless it was thread merged and I didn’t catch it). Odd for him not to correspond heavily during the holidays, if for nothing else but to reenforce the Christ roll play and beg for store money. I wonder if somebody stepped in? Something changed for sure.

Yeah. It's kind of fucked up to keep Chris in jail this long with nonstop continues. Either sentence him or let him go already.

This is the system working properly, actually. He's probably going to get a sentence of a certain length, he has nowhere to go, and he's willing to serve the time anyway (well, his attorney is anyway).

The defense gets to request continuances for various reasons. Psych exams, etc. This is good, rather than railroading the defendant through the system. Speedy trials are only good for the defendant when the government has completely screwed up, or when the penalty is small.

A court that rushes everyone through quickly and efficiently without giving them any choice in the matter is one built for authoritarian abuse.

Kiwi lawyers please enlighten me, is there a limit to how many continuances Chris' case can receive before a judge has to make a verdict? Or can the state of Virginia just bounce him back and forth between a jail cell and a court room till he dies?

Totally wasn't expecting yet another continuance.

So the big 40 is going to be in the Jail of Fail.

One thing to remember, a continuance doesn't mean nothing happened at the hearing, it just means they're not done with pre-trial stuff. It *could* be that nothing happened, but it could also be that various motions were filed for collection of new evidence, depositions, etc., then the hearing ends with the continuance, just a "to be continued..." is all it means.

Theoretically forever, although they can't keep Chris in jail forever. He can't be held against his will for longer than the penalty of the crime he's accused of. In the current court he's in, this is limited to one year. If he is upgraded to circuit court and charged with the full felony version of the crime, they could keep him in jail for up to ten years of continuances, though that would be an unprecedented amount of time.

If the case is not resolved after a year for some reason, Chris will have the option of demanding his release (and the state will have the option of upgrading the charges to immediately rearrest him). Even if he's released though, that doesn't mean the charges are dropped, and the case can keep on going as long as it needs to, years if need be (and Chris can be thrown back in jail if he fails to meet his court dates).

The judge also will get annoyed if the case doesn't move along eventually, and it's ultimately the judge's decision to continue to grant continuances.

And again, a continuance doesn't mean nothing happened, it just means they aren't finished.

EDIT: Also when @Peanut Head finds out when the next court date is, if it's soon (like within a week) that probably means we're almost done and they have a deal ready.
