You got lost in Bone County? Huh, first time I've heard that.
I've heard plenty of people say they found Red County annoying and getting lost from LS to SF though.

That said, I agree. Bayside is literal dead space. What a waste.
The connecting highway with the tunnel and Back o' Beyond is horribly designed IMO. The roads connect together with no landmark to distinguish them from. The rural parts were underappericated unless you've done the trucking missions. A lot of detail around those parts.

SWEGTA's post about Trevor got me wondering about something. What's up with R* and male rape?

Sure, it was funny hearing James Woods putting the fear of God in CJ about Sweet but they just kept going further with it.

>Niko and Packie (I think it was Packie) have lengthy conversation about rape in jails
>Trevor is implied to be raping Wade's cousin
>Arthur can actually get raped

Maybe I'm overthinking it but it seems really weird.

I don't see the problem to be honest. Nothing wrong with male on male sexual assault.

I find it odd bloomberg said so much about gta 6 even without any official news since the "yeah we making it lol" tweet, is a official trailer approaching soon?

Im concerned about the talk about updates, since it seems they are going to release a half finished game and flesh it out eventually, hell with them cutting the cops and crims update because fake dollar banana man, will gta 6 even have anything fun to do? im sorta excited for LCPDFR in gta 6, but thats if taketwo doesn't go hard in with killing modding for gta 6.

Then I guess he doesn't realize the inherent contradiction of wanting a dumb slutty character who runs around nude, but also has intricate character arcs and real depth. That's like wanting a porno to be on the same level as Shakespeare or something, isn't it?

Not trying to make a big thing out of it btw.

That doesn't make the character interesting, that makes it fappable. I'm not salty at all, don't be so defensive.
Sorry, my anger wasn’t necessarily aimed at you personally, just that there are people on here that lose their fucking minds if you express thirst over video game women and I don’t want this to wind up like the Street Fighter thread.

I guess I worded it wrong, what I meant was either make the character interesting or make them fappable, though I don’t think it’s one or the other, it just depends on the character.

A female Boss in old Saints Row games could dress slutty while commuting crimes and even streak and that’s a lot more amusing than bland watered down Woke bullshit.

It's cool, no problem. And it's okay to appreciate the female form, pixels or not. Graphics are so realistic now anyway that it'd be kinda gay not to.

I'll take literally anything over woke shit at any rate, fucking anti-joy dogshit.

Okay, who (besides @Dom Cruise) is upset about GTA having a female protagonist?
The reason people have a problem with a female protagonist in a GTA game is that it's simply not convincing. In the real world men commit the overwhelming majority of violent crimes, the idea of a woman carrying out armed bank robberies and carjackings just doesn't feel believable. If they made a game about poisoning your child and leaving them bedridden so you can be showered in sympathy by people on Facebook then yeah, a female main character would make sense.

You're onto something there. Really the only women I can think of who actually did this shit were Soviet trained terrorists during the Cold War.

Newsflash: GTA is not the real world. If it was, it wouldn't have things like laser guns, jetpacks, orbital canons, and street-level thugs being able infiltrate top-secret government bases.

Look, I'm not gonna deny that women don't usually commit violent crime irl, or that they usually don't have the strength to pull it off. I'm just saying it's really fucking funny how none of you had a problem with the realism of GTA until a female protagonist was announced.

Most of the whacky stuff you mentioned is in the online mode, which has always been less serious than the single-player campaign. People play GTA Online with a different mindset, where the expectation is more about goofy fun than a believable world. It's like saying that something whacky happening in Half-Life 3 would be fine because whacky things happen in Garry's Mod.

And yeah, there are some whacky situations in the single-player campaign too, but within the context of the game they never felt out of place. You weren't infiltrating a top-secret government base straight away, the characters start out as street-level thugs but they evolve beyond that by the point in the story where you're flying planes and blowing up buildings.

GTA is meant to be about crime, not futuristic military shit.

The point still stands.

GTA is a world based on parody, chaos, and exaggeration. If you are that serious about realism you should've drawn the line a long time ago, and not when they announced a female protagonist.

I think you're describing Saint's Row more than GTA. GTA IV in particular took itself quite seriously. Even the more light-hearted games were still trying to do something more than what you're describing: Vice City was a tribute to 80s Miami and pop culture set there like Scarface and Miami Vice, San Andreas was a homage to the classic era of rap and hiphop.

They tried to build a world that was immersive and believable, and part of that was having protagonists who matched the story and setting. If San Andreas was about a sweater vest wearing accountant named Glen but was otherwise exactly the same it would have been ludicrous. I'm not sure how Rockstar will be able to do this with a female protagonist, but if they do I will be impressed.

CJ, a poor gang banger from the hood, becomes a secret agent for an unnamed agency, then steals a jetpack from Area 51 to then steal Alien Goo from a government train convoy, and also ends up having to do a parachute drop to take back a rappers mansion from a gang banging drug dealer said rapper was in debt to.

Let's not act like San Andreas, and the entire GTA series, hasn't been ludicrous from the start even when they went "grounded" for one entry. GTA VI may suck, but it's not going to be because GTA suddenly stopped taking itself seriously.

Yeah, this is why the biggest complaint for the past decade has been that Rockstar cancelled the GTA V Zombie, Alien and Government Conspiracy DLCs.

To take down a drug syndicate and free his brother from prison. Only to go back to gangbanging. That's actually my favorite part of SA.

Just because he goes back to gang banging doesn't suddenly make anything he did to get there grounded or realistic. If anything, CJ going back to the hood after becoming a music manager and real estate mogul just because his brother calls him a bitch is really unrealistic.

If you don't want to play a woman, that's fine. The idea that it will result in wokeness is perfectly acceptable and believable, but some people really need to stop acting like a woman comiting crimes will destroy some weird serious pedigree that the GTA series has never been known for.

I believe the government conspiracy DLC was reworked in The Doomsday Heist. Poorly, I may add.

I think that started from Battlefield V or Life is Strange.
