I think this trailer would have been welcomed with open arms ten years ago, a fun and funny trailer of typical GTA exaggeration, satire, and parody.

I mean this isn't surprising. Not only has it been one of the most beloved gaming franchises for 20 years at this point, but GTA V even 10 years after its release is still one of the most polished and technologically advanced games out there. The last game that was hyped up to be a GTA killer was Cyberpunk 2077 and while I love Cyberpunk we all know deep down inside that it was a fucking disaster. I think R* themselves are trying very hard to avoid a similar debacle, given the hype for this game is just as massive if not even moreso.

If you read the thread since the trailer they've also said they cancelled a Cops vs Robbers mode because of George Floyd.

First GTA 5 trailer for comparison, people aren't just yelling about ''niggers in muh vidya'' it's blatant over representation. 5 has a good mix of everyone while the 6 trailer basically only shows whitey being crazy or working in service jobs and everyone else is a POC.

Trad degeneracy like bouncy in cars with the ladies of the night disappeared from the most recent GTAs, I think. Burgulary barely outlasted SA. Everything distinctive has been removed (the Russkie sub in online seems to result in empty lobbies) while opportunities for online microtransactions proliferate. We do know what they're doing. Yes we don't know the exact story, but we know their mindset going in. A 'progressive' GTA is a fucking disaster in the making, and that's what they're planning on doing.

CJ fucking hated ghetto shit the fuck are you on about, and even if the game had a "black asthetic" it made sure to point out how they were all retarded for shooting at each other over petty shit, and victor/lance didn't act like ghetto trash outside of lance being retarded

CJ spent the whole game cleaning up the mess that the hood mentality caused. People forget that one of the main villains, Smoke and the Ballas, were also hood rats. Tenpenny was a corrupt cop that allowed the gang banging to continue to line his own pockets.

The whole game is very anti-banger and I don't think progressive Rockstar has the balls to pull a message like that again. Odds are the villains will be white spooks again or white rednecks.
