Including one for Liberty City. The absolute state of Rockstar to even think of scrapping that.
I'm pretty sure Liberty City was the one that got the most work done, since pictures of it in the GTA V iteration of Rage were found on a LinkedIn profile or something. back in like 2016 or 2017.

That being said, I'd also bet money that it was always meant more for Online than a single player expansion.

If these were the original endings, they're kind of disappointing to me personally. A little to edgy for the sake of edgy.

If so, an $20 expansion to another city with updated visuals and GTA V style gameplay wouldn't be a bad trade. It could undervalue GTA IV by having a ripped version of a previous game onto another game. Unless they'd do a remaster alongside with it. Plenty of opportunity for this Liberty expansion, and I don't even work for R*.

IIRC the general consensus among people that followed it and *maybe* had some insider info wasn't so much that Rockstar couldn't figure out what to do with it, but that to actually pull it off would require too much work (mostly on the front of adding new pedestrians) on top of the GTA V iteration of RAGE just not being designed around expansions like that.

I think that is a reason Cayo Perico runs like shit, as well. It's not *just* the foliage. But I'm not an expert, I'm just going off shit I read probably 3-6 years ago.

But it's a known fact that Liberty City itself was ported over at one point. So there were tests being done at the very least.

Still kinda surprised there wasn't an ending planned to kill BOTH Trevor and Michael. Michael was the sole source of drama in Franklin's life and Trevor was completely insane and far too unpredictable to keep alive. Franklin cutting a secret deal with the feds to take them both down and end up the sole protagonist with everything would be a hollow yet fairly logical ending.

Why would Franklin work with the feds? He wants out of that mess. He just wanted to be a lucrative criminal.

Unfortunately they won’t get what they deserve for picking whoring themselves out instead of making quality content. They’ll just jingle GTA 6 keys and all will be forgotten.

Damn. We could’ve gotten Bully 2 in an era where it actually could have come out.

It'd be a much 'cleaner' way out than killing all the head honchos (you think they wouldn't retaliate?) and would be considered the 'greed' ending. FIB can give him the Michael life, he can use that to actually thrive in Los Santos, and as most of the bad guys were mostly after Michael and Trevor, he'd essentially be living in peace.

Unless you mean the subscription stuff or something. What's it got that PC doesn't?
Animals in free roam, Hao's Tuning, a Car Meet thingy for GTA+ that makes it significantly easier to acquire the cars they removed from regular pool, an entire car that's Amani Tech, special paint jobs... there's more, I believe, but I can't think of them right now.

So it is just Online stuff?

I don't know. I just can't understand how PC users still care about Rockstars Online shit when it is so utterly fucked for them.

I thought I was retarded for dealing with it on PC as long as I did tbqh. I can't believe people still care with all the hacking and security risks present.

Wasn't there a source code leak last year? I guess it was incomplete.
I definitely can believe they had a whole slew of single player DLC planned for GTAV(along with other projects) that they then all abandoned once Online got off the ground. Shame, but really, that Rockstar that wanted to make the content is gone, so even if they released it now it just wouldn't be the same. GTA6 will be the last remnant of that era simply due to how long the development has been taking, and even then it will have the nu-R* stink all over it, like with the Online content and even RDR2
Only good GTA games were the isometric ones and the 3D era ones, the series is vastly overrated. Remember how Saint's Row 2 blew GTA 4 out of the water?

Actually one thing I'm curious is whether this leak contains any info in regards to rockstar's RAGE engine since that's pretty closed sourced and tight knit from what I've heard.
There is a lot. Source code, documentation, scripts, changelogs, internal binaries, API documentation. You name it, it's probably in the leak.
There's a lot to be discovered.

The (apparent) full source and documentation of RAGE as of 2017 or something is included in the leak as well.

I'd like to see somebody TRY to run GTA 5 on a Switch. We know previous RAGE entries were ported over to the Switch; L.A. Noire and Red Dead Redemption. Maybe downgrade from the PS3/360 version onto a homebrew Switch, even so, there's more going on with GTA V than those earlier titles.

Here's some speculation of a what if GTA 6 NS port. I think it would go without saying that whatever new console Nintendo would release would not be able to run GTA 6, even with downgrades.

If this leak ever brings out anything for the fans (assuming R* doesn't have lawyers on speed dial for shit like this [they probably do]), is that I hope they could band together and finish the singleplayer DLCs that was cancelled in favor of online.
And if they need voices for dialog, AI voice tools are right next door and the dataset for characters is more than enough to fulfill a competent output.

Doubt it, all hands on deck for GTA 6. They'll go through business as usual. I would not be surprised if they're wrapping up online DLCs for GTA Online before ending support within the year.

Is there any info about Cops and Crooks?

Maybe i'm being cynical but how many of those 8 DLCs would have been real content vs cosmetic and item updates? For instance Bethesda says it released 6 DLC for Fallout 4, but 4 of those 6 were just content with maybe 2 or 3 quest who's entire theme was about introducing the cosmetics and items to you. 8 DLC is an insanely high amount for a AAA studio, especially in the 8th gen, when those have all but vanished from games. And to lead on from that point, how much of the content from those 8 DLC was shoved into the online mode instead? How many of the heists and missions from Online were originally part of a story DLC?

Also Bully 2 was still in early development meaning what exactly? Like they were still hammering out concept art or plot? I remember /v/ memeing up some stuff about a bully sequel with a woman protagonist around that time but overall it just felt like gooner fantasies.
