Called it. This game is going to bomb and R* are pushing it as close to next gen as possible to sell it on PS5, then PC, then PS6 in the space of a year to try and claw revenue back.

This is going to be the biggest bomb in history.

Oh, how much I wish I could believe this. But does "too big to fail" ring any bells? After Cyberpunk was able to be successful launching in that state, I don't think even the most catastrophic of shittyness would be able to make this game flop, at best it might underperform sales expectations.

No such thing as too big to fail and with a $2 billion dev cost, they have to sell this thing for $99 and hope 40 million customers buy it just to break even.
Here's the rub, GTA online makes a billion dollars a year, so they have to make at least 1 billion a year in gta6 online - which wasn't releasing day and date with the launch game (it will now IMO), meaning the year GTA6 launches, R* have to find 1 billion in revenue because people will jump from GTA5 to GTA6.

They've fucked it and in the process they've fucked Sony. I said a while back that this game will crash the industry and i stand by it. Only Nintendo will come out unscathed.

Companies should take note that Apex Legends, widely believed to be one of the worst games to play, completely cold dropped on platforms with no prior marketing and singlehandedly funded EA for quite some time.



Dont set a firm release date. It's done when you see it on the store. This is how it should be.
