that one poster is still right: you still aint got a chance with her (she died back in 1982 at 67)
That breaks my heart. *sigh*

What I am surprised about (take this as a thread tax of sorts), however, is the fact that Cockstar have dumped more money here in total than it cost to build the Burj Khalifa. On a fucking video game. How the fuck do they expect to make any return on that sort of retard-money investment by now?
That's what happens when you get overly ambitious and cocky. They put themselves in that situation.

At least GTA SA had some peds, but isn't the same as Elvis has left the building!
I'm too young to remember THAT, but old enough to remember those Zombie Elvis newspapers flying around.

I'm watching The Professional's GTA LCS 20th anniversary playthrough. I just noticed how after some missions, the radio broadcast would cut to Liberty News to give a recap of your missions and their cause and effect. I know it did that for GTA 3 and Vice City for lore reasons of why the bridges are closed. I love that touch; I need to pay more attention.

What are the chances that the delay was to get GTA6 running on SteamOS ready to drop it on the Gabecube?
As much as I love the Gabecube/Steam Machine, that would mean porting it to Linux. GTA V technically doesn't even work with Linux anymore unless you remove BattlEye anti-cheat.

It's weird how easy it is to miss a ton of context in GTA games. Many of them had the issue of conversations in cars being cut short due to you getting to the destination earlier (usually an issue in IV and V in my experience), and a ton of news broadcasts can be easily missed if you either turn off the radio or swap stations during ads.

Also with IV and V, missions had second sets of conversations if you had to replay them from mission failed.

This has never been a truthful statement, and almost always a prelude to a horrifically buggy release.
I guess we'll find out.

I just remember some dialogue after failing missions in IV before retrying from the phone.
Not in V. Mission failed appears before anything and just exiting makes you out of the mission near instantly.

V does have them, it just so happens that most of the mission failed cutscenes are in the tutorial missions that no one outside of the mentally handicapped would fail. Also I have a feeling that the mission failed cutscene for By the Book was the original ending for the mission before being retooled into a mission failure cutscene for being too dark.

No lie, The Long Stretch gave me trouble from the police chase since I was not used to how aggressive the police were in V.

This basically went away with GTA:SA due to SA having a completely different radio system. Before that, every radio station was a single pre-baked audio stream, and with SA it was finally dynamic. Everything was randomized. Song order, DJ chatter on the intro/outro, DJ chatter between songs, commercials and so on. That's when all the in-game news was moved to WCTR where you'd have extra lore.
Of course there were more touches like this in SA, like Lazlow interviewing OG Loc, or various radio hosts commenting on the LS riots, all thanks to this new radio system where previously you had it completely cut off in the middle of listening to give you a lore explanation of the closed progression bridges and so on.

And then of course with IV you had Weazel News since most people missed WCTR so instead you had those lore news segments inserted into every radio station.
