I envy the fact that you have a working PS2.
what do you mean? you can easily find working PS2's and people that do maintenance on them in some countries.
Also R* released a note (Ledditpost)
Bigass Quote on R*'s Message said:
Hi everyone,

We want to provide an update regarding the unexpected technical issues that came to light as part of the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

Firstly, we want to sincerely apologize to everyone who has encountered issues playing these games.

The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.

We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.

A new Title Update is on the way in the coming days for all versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition that will address a number of issues. We will update everyone as soon as it is live.

In the meantime, it pains us to mention that we are hearing reports of members of the development teams being harassed on social media. We would kindly ask our community to please maintain a respectful and civil discourse around this release as we work through these issues.

While one of the goals of the Definitive Editions was to allow players to enjoy these games on modern platforms for many years to come, we also understand that some of you would still like to have the previous classic versions available for purchase.

We will be adding the classic PC versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas back to the Rockstar Store shortly as a bundle. Additionally, everyone who has purchased Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PC from the Rockstar Store through June 30, 2022, will receive these classic versions in their Rockstar Games Launcher library at no additional cost. We will update everyone as soon as these are back in the Rockstar Store.

Once again, we'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we work through these updates to ensure these games meet everyone's justifiably high standards.

Sincerely,
Rockstar Games
Who, what in the, why?
They acted like complete demented pajeets and expect NOT to be called a bunch of demented pajeets? as xpac would say; go back to reddit faggot.
that's what you get for hiring pajeets, get fucked, rockstar.

Well, this was unexpected:

Granted, Pewds spends his time just lurking and reading popular subreddits on Reddit, but he did jokingly refer to the fact that Metacritic might just hide their negative 0.5 and 0.6 ratings since they won’t handle the opinions of toxic gamers on their site.
Well, this fuck is a big name, so obviously he have a neutral opinion about the last thing you said.
But shitdit lowering this fucking mess called "definitive editions".
They can't drink more soy than the normal, i'm sure.

Fire GSG, R*.
I think GTA:‎DE's actually exceeding Fallout 76 in terms of botched launches, and that's incredible considering just how much more can go wrong with online games

I have issues with the modern over reliance on reflective surfaces in general, but this is just ridiculous.
What on Earth is happening on a technical level there? And why is it rendering pedestrians like that?

For what it's worth, my fat PS2 only lasted a few years, but I've had my slim one since 2005, and it still works fine. It's model SCPH-75001, and if you look for one, make sure it comes with its power supply, as it's proprietary.

Meanwhile here's me, played the game so many times since release I know where all the weapons and body armour are on the map and never buy weapons now on my playthroughs.

Pro tip - aggressively save cash in the beginning to buy the pad with the garage near the golf club in the early game. The early mission where you have to protect Diaz in the alley, his car is bullet proof (actually indestructible, I think you can only blow it up by flipping it). If you ice Diaz the mission fails but you can take his indestructible car. Fun to fuck around with but also very useful in the mission where you need to save Lance.
You can get it if you pass the mission too. The game doesn't despawn it when it despawns Diaz so it's sitting in the middle of the street and after the cutscene.

The reflection of the wall should be projected from the PoV of the truck but seems to be instead projected from the main character. That's why the reflected wall gets bigger as the MC moves closer to the real wall. No idea how the hell are the NPC calculated tho, it makes no sense to me.

I think this may have been fixed in later versions of the game, necessitating you to kill Diaz to steal it.

It was definitely possible in the launch version on PS2 though cause that's how I always got it. I'd just run into the street right after the mission and it was sitting there.

Vice City missions are pretty short as it is so I kind of doubt it. I know I've never seen one but I never looked either.
Yeah except for fucking Death Row

I pirated DE (because I am not giving them money for this disaster) and fooled around with San Andreas for a bit. The improved draw distance is pretty good. But they changed the flight physics. Why.

Here's something slightly off-topic but worth talking about: the fall of SWEGTA.

If you don't about SWEGTA, he's a Swedish gaming channel known for making Bully content and expanding into other R* titles. AFAIK, he fell apart for partying and has abandoned his YouTube channel as a result of poor decisions.

Yeah.

Good for him. I really got tired of his insane clickbaits about Bully.

It reminds me of broken ENB series reflections that reflect the HUD onto stuff.
