Open world and Sandbox aren't really the same thing tbqh. One quick glance of both games would say otherwise. Crime story, open world, jack cars. Although, Mafia is more story driven than GTA.

Yeah, the aesthetic and story made up for the mediocre and clunky gameplay. Mafia 2's DLC removing the cutscenes made me give up on it.I don't like how Mafia II's DLC just axes cutscenes and adds unnecessary timers between missions. It looks cheaply made.
Sadie Adler would clock this chick in the face with a bare knuckle then hogtie her for the bounty money.Spanish Saddie addler is gonna be the gta 6 protagonist. Can WW3 just start already
She'd have been fine with some actual development. As it is she goes from sobbing about her dead husband to running down a Lemoyne Raider with a wagon just because she's having a bad day chopping vegetables. Peak woman moment though, when you stop to think about it.Well, their last attempt a strong female character was Sadie Adler from RDR2, and to be frank, she did not go over well.
She's not awful, but Rockstar really dropped the ball by not showing her development on screen, and by picking a voice actor whose voice is very, very annoying to a lot of people.
I just expect that some of the crunch culture gets exported to a India, hasn’t Rockstar been expanding there?I just love how being "progressive" would supposedly stop R*'s "crunch culture." Give me a break.
She does get some character development in camp, but it’s extremely out of the way and easy to miss, which is why most players don’t see it and are surprised to see Sadie Adler immediately emerge from her cocoon as a her vengeful self. Even one mission in between would have solved this.Sadie Adler would clock this chick in the face with a bare knuckle then hogtie her for the bounty money.

This was a similar thing in GTA V, where a lot of character moments were done when you hung out with friends. She does get some character development in camp, but it’s extremely out of the way and easy to miss, which is why most players don’t see it and are surprised to see Sadie Adler immediately emerge from her cocoon as a her vengeful self. I usually watch this channel for their shitposts, but this is straight up a shit take.
GTA's "transphobic" jokes about trannies being cross dressing hypersexual creepers with five o'clock shadows or "sexist" jokes about women being vapid strippers is no different than their typical radio ads where a white dude with a southern accent says something like "I have a small dick, hate immigrants and fuck my sister hyuck hyuck". The entire series is shock humor that pretty often veers into being eye rolling with how on on the nose it is. But that's what the series has always been and really these retards don't want Rockstar's humor and writing to change and evolve, they just want it to be the same lazy, crude humor it's always been, but only against people they hate rather their pet protected classes. And since they know that makes them look like thin skinned crybabies they're deflecting to an easy target like the fifty incels who got mad at a supposed female protagonist. If the female protagonist is akin to some of the female characters in Red Dead II, then I don't think there will be much to worry about. Generally speaking, there was nothing too objectionable in RDRII - someone like a Sadie Adler would make for a fine protagonist. Just so long as Rockstar don't get lazy and write a female character who can't go one minute without going all "fuck fuckity fucking fuck fuck", ie. le edgy routine that female 'comedians' resort to to make up for their lack of personalities. If the rumors are true that she's a late 30s crooked cop, hopefully that will bring an air of maturity to her character. I'm assuming Rockstar are going to stick with the trio protagonist system anyway and the other two will continue to be men.
In isolation, a female protagonist isn't the issue. It's the changing "no punching down" direction being hinted at which could potentially bury it for me. GTA has always been an equal opportunities offender, shitting on bleeding hearts and conservatards alike. I mean the latter is to the point where you even have breadtubers convinced that the GTA series (*which has coasted by for the last 10 years on Shark Cards microtransactions) has an anti-capitalist message. I always likened GTA's satire to something like Cum Town humor, where for example it would be jokingly critical of American's dogshit healthcare system in one breath, but then would juxtapose that with Faggio scooters, tranny superhero dolls with detachable parts, and mockery of vegans, new agers and weird sexual perversions.
If GTAVI is going to reign in its mockery of those more deluded aspects (of which could be considered as belonging largely on the modern left), and will just become yet another full throated conservative punching bag like plenty other media in the last 5 years, then that's frankly just boring to me. It's also pretty embarrassing for the so-called Rockstar Games, bad boy renegades of gaming, to feel something is now too controversial to joke about. Controversy built this company into what it was.
GTA V was the first game in the series to feature multiple playable protagonists in the main story, with three; Franklin, Michael, and Trevor. It seemed Rockstar was originally hoping to up the ante and continue to raise the bar with their next mainline entry by having four this time; not to mention having multiple cities in one game, which would increase the playable area for a GTA single-player experience to unprecedented levels. But it would seem somewhere along the way they realized such a goal would be too difficult to reach if they wanted to release the game in a reasonable timeframe.
The idea that a sizeable percentage of zoomers have only played III/Vice City/San Andreas
Shotguns and the odd handgun too. Maybe an old rifle here and there.
I'm like 95% sure Dan Houser has said Trevor was originally thought up/written to be an antagonist and not a playable character.ou could demote Trevor into a secondary character or non playable antagonist and the game would play off pretty much the same
I believe that, hell that mission where you go back to North Yankton gives off more 'final mission' vibes than any of the three last missions we gotI'm like 95% sure Dan Houser has said Trevor was originally thought up/written to be an antagonist and not a playable character.
Real talk, the best move they could make is just have no one bring it up. Like yeah, she can still be called a bitch and stuff, but just have no one specifically shit on her for being a woman, or even really acknowledge it.personally, a female lead wouldn't work even in the prime of R* cause what jokes can you ideally make without it being repetitive? at best you'd get "A woman doing crime work, how preposterous!" type jokes with similar variations of it but other than that? i got nothing
A latina protagonist opens up a lot of jokes to be honest. I personally would have gone the chola route instead of the leaks suggesting she's a dirty cop but assuming it's set in Vice City and she's Cuban I can see a lot of ways you could make a character like that funny. Which means they aren't going to do it of course.personally, a female lead wouldn't work even in the prime of R* cause what jokes can you ideally make without it being repetitive? at best you'd get "A woman doing crime work, how preposterous!" type jokes with similar variations of it but other than that? i got nothing
