If you have a PS1 copy of GTA 1 or 2, inserting it in a CD player will play some of its soundtrack. Nifty feature. Not every PS1 game has that feature.

GTA 2's soundtrack is underappericated. I see where the inspiration with Head Radio and self made music came from.

I wonder why they didn't come out with a San Andreas Stories unless it was because GTA IV was right around the corner.

Nah, they made GTA: SA The Introduction movie at expense of another game.
Both LCS & VCS were made by Rockstar Leeds, basically a bunch of newfags with the supervision of the main team.
At least they're done right. And GTA: CW is their magnus opus, no doubt.

That makes sense. I know the timelines don't match up (SA was set in 1992 and LCS was set in 199
, but I would have loved to have seen Toni Cipriani run into CJ or even Ken Rosenberg even if just in passing.

The Introduction was literally released with the San Andreas soundtrack like a week after San Andreas released. I don't know where this idea that they specifically cut a game to make it comes from. The Introduction predates the Stories series by at least a year.

I personally like how self contained each game in the 3D era is. That is difficult to do with any franchise.

So Grand Theft Auto IV is 15 years old today
As always, I like to remind people that there was a 16 year gap between when Vice City took place (1986) and it's actual release (2002) and next year GTA IV will be that old and we still won't have a GTA VI.

GTA V is also 10 years old this year and it's sad that we will never have GTA VI until, I'm assuming, 2055.

RDR2 is five years old this year if you can believe it.
I tend to think that if GTA Online hadn't been such a smashing success for Rockstar and brought in so much money we wouldn't wait so long between projects. I don't think it should be a regular schedule type of a thing where we get a new game from Red Dead, GTA, or Bully every other year like clockwork, and I'm good with waiting until a project is done before it gets released, but it is frustrating waiting for a decade and then some for a new game. At least with RDR1 and GTA4 we got side games that came out (Undead Nightmare and TLatD and BoGT respectively), but we didn't even get anything like that for GTA5 or RDR2 (and both RDR
and Bully are both dead projects at this point). I would have paid for DLC or a game set in the same territory that wasn't the main title, mostly because I don't play enough and consistently to make online worthwhile to me. It's just single player for me.
But because GTA has been such a huge moneymaker for Rockstar I think they just don't feel the need to really push new projects forward. And, of course, given the environment we live in these days, Rockstar can no longer stuff their games full of tongue-in-cheek humor because we just know someone will be offended and that is a consideration (although they have been giving in since they took the Haitians out of VCS and replaced them with Mexicans because the Haitian community in Miami complained about stereotyping).
I am sure that there are people out there that can replace the Housers, but whether those people are working on GTA6 and whatever comes next is the question. Those are huge shoes to fill, but we won't see until the game is released sometime between now and the heat death of the universe whether they got the right people or not. But with Lazlo gone, the Housers gone, and several others who helped shape the tone of the games (and not just GTA but also Bully and the Red Dead series) it's going to be hard to do.

oh we'll get gta 6 dont worry. but i dont expect it to come out until, at the earliest, next year, and at the latest, 2026
GTA VI will be out in 2030 at the earliest. It'll make Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens Colonial Marines look polished.
