I don't like GTA 6 having a female protagonist. She feels really out of place.
Your average GTA protagonist is already unrealistic enough in that you have a guy singlehandedly killing entire armies of trained professionals and or law enforcement, or those plot scenes where your guy can be sarcastic to a mob boss's face and having the only response be stuff like "Ill let that slide this time" "Youve got guts" etc

That shit is gonna be even harder to believe with a girl protag, and while the unrealistic shit comes across as funny or cool when you see it in Niko or Trevor for example, i cant see it being anything other than obnoxious with your stereo

Female villains/anti heroes can work. I still want my Jean Harlow protagonist.

Oh im not saying they cant, i just doubt they'll write a compelling character to wrap an entire GTA plot around. If modern writing has taught me anything is that women cannot under any circumstance struggle against anything in media, unless it's a plot device the writers can use to virtue signal in real life

Yeah, agreed. I think Rockstar will playtest this to death, and the outcome is predictable: she will pierce disbelief if she handles like a man, and be completely unlikable if she acts like a bitch. Best case, she will be Honey Bunny from Pulp Fiction. Interesting for a few lines but grating more than that.

If Rockstar winds this back to one protagonist they will catch some flak but they should do it anyway. Three or one are the magic numbers unless the two are attached at the hip.

It isn't like there have never been female criminals in GTA before...

GTA VI might suck, but I bet it's more due to microtransaction bullshit than a lady being in it and "ruining the story" or whatever, as if GTA hasn't had shit/unrealistic stories for the majority of the games.

What WILL ruin the story would be the poor writing and plot holes since Dan Houser and Laslow left R*. Take a look at GTA Online for a taste of what's to come.

I don't mind latina lady in concept. It wasn't like the franchise was never going to have a lady protagonist after running through every possible kind of criminal man they could find. Like everyone else has said though the rumors that the game is going to be 'episodic' and cost over a billion in dev costs means it is going to be fucking RUINED by microtransactions.

I'll just keep playing GTA 4 on my Steam Deck. That game never gets old.

So, for something that isn't bitching about the current state of GTA, a while back I couldn't get any of the unofficial patches to San Andreas working right since the installers dumped some checksum errors on me. Granted I was using a pirated copy because fuck Rockstar taking those down, but any advice or solutions for the next time?

SilentPatch? Try running the game without the patch. If possible, try another copy.

Oh, NOW I get it!

Michael gaslights Trevor into believing he's a hipster since Trevor goes out his way to BE menacing and antiestablishment. Trevor's behavior isn't unoriginal as he think, especially since he boasts about living off the grid and dresses like a maniac. Now that you think of it, Trevor is a meta caricature of the casual GTA player with his drive for mindless chaos and violence.

Add insult to injury, Micheal is a hypocrite but he does have a point.

I still believe that all three V protagonists are shallow as hell with character development. Lamar has more character than Franklin and he's just a supporting character.
