One of the developers said they're going to cut back on the satire, because they're afraid of both political sides attacking them. I mentioned it before on here, but I don't think a Grand Theft Auto is possible to make nowadays. There's a reason why GTA 5 was mostly about bank heists and glowies, because there's not much "unique" crime wise about the post-2013 world.
You could put an easter egg in where killing any black man instantly activates riot mode.

My thought is that people may just stick with GTA V because they have all their shit on there though. Especially if the Online doesn't have nearly as much to offer at launch.
I feel GTA V will still climb the Top 40 or whatever sales charts when GTA 6 releases. Multiplayer will launch one month after, which will get people to talk about it. Maybe the storyline will involve importing your character from another flight to Vice City. I guarantee you there will be 80s cosmetics for sale as a "homage to GTA: Vice City."

I would much rather play a barebones GTA Online 2 as long as possible for balance reasons. Once they start releasing updates, it'll be unbalanced and practically unplayable for a time.

It’s unfortunate, but it feels like GTA V was released at the perfect apex of what would make a good GTA game. The ‘no punching down’ comment is enough of an indication that current year culture war bullshit has infected and destroyed yet another great piece of media.

Outside of that though. The wave of microtransactions and releasing half baked games for too much money is enough of a reason to balk. What really kills it for me though is the political slant. It’s not even that GTA didn’t have a political slant, but whatever they do to satisfy the twitter mob won’t feel genuine and will be the same faggotry that gets shoved down your throat everywhere else.

If they want to win me back, they can do a public radio parody bit where a panel of persons of gender come on and talk about how they should have a god-given right to manipulate and molest children. Until they can promise that, which I know is an impossible demand for current year Rockstar, I’ll pass.

At least I have unmolested copies of the old games that they can’t possibly fuck up with shitty remasters that take the satirical bite out of them to avoid offending some group. I’m sure they’ll try with shitty remakes, but you wouldn’t have much of a game left.

The older I get, the more I understand why talk show radio segments exist. They make for great background noise to hear people discuss random things.

just wanna share that killing unarmed civilians in a video games should put on the FBI watch list. killing cops is fine though since we all know, cops are not real people. i dont think even Jack Thompson went that far.

it seems games now days (atleast AAA titles) dont allow you to kill or outright punish you for going postal. Starfield with its named script NPCs. the new Assassin creed giving you a game over for killing too many none hostile NPCs. i think Baldur gate 3 is one of the few games were you can kill 99% of all characters and get away with it but dont quot me on that.

also the publisher of the new GTA 6 game thinks gamers should be charged HOURLY to play their games.

I've only seen a handful of videos of his over the years, but Gmanlives seemed pretty inconsistent with his take on video game violence. I remember him taking about how great stuff like Postal 2 is, letting you set civilians on fire and then piss out the flames on their corpse, but something like JFK: Reloaded was so upsetting he could only play it one time for footage, because it's based on a historical event (with a lot of comments pointing out "Hey, what about all those games based on wars?") I guess GTA 5 is bad, despite being totally fictional (like the other violent games he likes), because it's got more realistic graphics? Is something like GTA 3 less offensive for letting you do the same thing (maybe not in a hospital), but with fewer polygons? Seems silly.

Gman's opinions change randomly and have no logical consistency, this man said positive things about MoonMan Doom yet almost pulls out a ACAB tier opinion about some guy shooting up the hospital in GTA 4. Trying to understand his retardation is a losing game.

Using an interior to cause mayhem = put on a watch list. Okay.

Not quite, he's saying that his proposed value proposition for video games should be based on its campaign completion. Even so, that's bullshit. Theoretically, you could spend forever playing online multiplayer games. That doesn't mean I should give all my money to play it.

GTA 3 logic: blow up cars with a grenade/rocket launcher, have peds punch you.

Gman is scared of being demonetized or deplatformed so he will pretend to be indignant to anything that he thinks may be controversial as to avoid trouble.

Makes sense coming from Strauss Zelnick, he used to work as an executive in the music industry. This is the guy that sent private investigators to modders homes to intimidate them into stopping their projects and suing them.

A Typical kike reaction, they better not send them to the wrong house or it'll be just like in GTA IV where you can camp by your bed in your safe and just keep shooting feds as they ether in until you stock up on assault rifle ammo to fill up a military base.

GTA has been fairly liberal but nowhere near faggotry cringe so things are much different 10 years after the release of GTA V. 2013 was the last year before outcries about Gamergate and implementation of micro transactions in AAA games and gaming has been plagued with all that SJW bullshit and pay walls ever since 2014. I know Microtransactions were implemented in GTA Online but it didn't effect the base game.

Current Year Rockstar has been pretty shitty, far-left leaning and sometimes even malicious. 2023 is very different from 2013 to the point any dissent of Liberalism is compared to an atom bomb. So many people have trooned out and past Rockstar games would be considered "far-right" by today's standards. So I have low expectations for GTA VI.

So what do you guys think about the future of GTA Online? Will Rockstar shut down it's servers once VI's online is up or they will simply leave it in an abandoned state?

It depends on if it's generating income.

If people are playing it, but not spending money on it, they will shut it down to try and boost GTA VI/Online 2 engagement.

If people are playing it, and spending money on it, they will keep it up as long as it is profitable.
