What ARE people expecting from GTA 6?
A complete trainwreck, but one where the trains are propped back onto the tracks by Coping faggots and media shills to say "See, it's just as good as it has always been", followed by awards and thousands of 10/10 scores.

In reality, I expect the humour the be Reddit-tier, Marvel-style quips, sarcastic-laden, politically motivated rants about huwhite guys and offensiveness. It will break the fourth wall by trying to explain how "not being edgy and offensive in 2024 doesn't mean something isn't good", just like those boring fucks who go on nights out and don't drink because "they don't need alcohol to have a good time".

I don't know what the story will be about, but it will be boring. OTT violence, muggings, drugs and prostitution; the staples of GTA, will be swapped for quirky-action and OTT 'woah bro' set-pieces. Muggings will be a good thing because stinky republicans will get mugged, the drugs will be weed-related, current-year stoner jokes and prostitution will be seen as guurrl-boss motivated, career driven and lucrative.

TL;DR - the game will fucking suck. It will be unfunny, boring and people will tell you how it's teh bestest thing evaa. I expect that the game will be largely forgotten by this time next year.

My guess is that the same will somehow be worse in terms of gameplay mechanics versus what the leaks showed last year.
It'd be funny if it's the case plus the reddit-tier stuff; shills coping will be hilarious.

Granted I do hope it succeeds, but it will probably be an online hell hole at best (didn't R* buy FiveM to possibly put RP into 6?).

I just want to point out the fact that it will only take 4 days just to give out a trailer, even after me making a lukewarm post on here with a Tommy Vercetti eyebrow glitch gif. It’s both making me nervous and confused at the same time.

It seems rather early to give out a teaser trailer like this. If anything, I was expecting it to be later in December, like before the first day of the Winter season and before Christmas.

Nice artwork, though.

The Professional said it may be because of the stock market.

I'm morbidly curious of the next GTA. After that comes out, how about GTA 7? And vice versa.

The HD era was truly a mistake. The 3D GTA games are clearly superior and they should have continued with the same concept.

It's sad to think that those games are the best we'll ever get. Some of the most fun moments playing GTA is listening to the radio, what the fuck are they doing without Lazlow in a Vice City game?

I've had more fun in SAMP and MTA with my buds than we ever had in GTA V. I know a lot of people haven't had that experience so they see GTA V as the staple of multiplayer GTA, but what we have now is a far cry from what once was.

Let's face it, all the good writers and devs that made the games what they were have left. I don't trust that Rockstar hired people who were genuinely inspired by them and who could continue their legacy, and I doubt those people are ever coming back.

This is a pipe dream, but maybe with this new wave of retarded millionaires we'll get some rich video game nerd to start buying these companies, putting all the proper people back in their places and releasing good games again, or somehow they get a board that actually loves the games.

I'm still of the opinion that this isn't even going to be called GTA VI and the big reveal is that GTA is now a "platform" that they will continuously build upon.

This kind of idea was stated all the way back with GTA Online before it even came out, and it seems like not properly planning out for this was one of Rockstar/Take Twos biggest shames.

Never would have happened. The 3D Era GTA's are a product of inexperience and technology of the time. Dan and Sam Houser always wanted to make movies, so the second technology allowed the games to become more realistic and "cinematic", they went for it.

The "openness" of early 3D era GTA games wasn't a design choice, it was a product of inexperience. The fact you can come up with goofy ways to complete missions in GTA III and Vice City is only that way cause they hadn't really figured out or thought things out. You see these elements disappear with each subsequent game.

What would YOU call it then? GTA: City of Vice?
It would just be "Grand Theft Auto"

Similar to what Activision has been half ass doing with Call of Duty. When you boot up Modern Warfare II (and now III), you are greeted to an opening title shot that is just "Call of Duty" featuring characters from all the post MW2019 games (maybe even a few shots from WWII, I can't remember for sure).

Then you're taken to the "Headquarters" where they list *all* of the games/modes you can play. Modern Warfare III itself is a glorified expansion of Modern Warfare II. S

Now I wouldn't bet MONEY on this happening. It will probably still just be "Grand Theft Auto VI", but it's just something I could easily see them going towards, especially if they are wanting to blur the distinction between story and online modes

They're doing something similar with the Rockstar Game Launcher, GTA+ with R* titles being available to rent for the monthly fee AND GTA: DE releasing on Netflix. I know I remember hearing about GTA 6 having an "evolving world" akin to Fortnite. Games now aren't products anymore, but services.

They already added a subscription service to GTA Online. What's next, always online GTA? Forced co-op akin to Watch Dogs 2?

The pessimism regarding the next GTA is a sight to behold.
The game looks shitty just from the leaks, and even going off of GTA5 as a base that game was a downgrade from GTAIV. People have every right to be pessimistic, especially with the writing and humor likely being just as awful as nu-Saints Row

There is footage of a leak of the game from Tik Tok. I'm not sure if this is real or not but I'm more on the real side as apparently Rockstar is taking down the leaks.
Also the leaker is said to be a son of a Rockstar employee. :story:

If it weren't for that massive leak in 2022 I would write this off as fake, But anything seems possible now. It seems too high quality to be a slap together in Unreal or Unity, but I could also see this being a Cities Skylines map Not gonna lie.

If the uploader is the son of a Rockstar employee than good job on getting your dad/mom fired dip shit, GG.
