I WAS gonna say that we're not getting it because the voice of Niko started shit about payment with Rockstar, but so did the nig that voiced CJ and they still redid (I don't wanna say remade) San Andreas.
The cynic in me thinks that Rockstar knows GTA IV is beloved and if they remake it they'll get people wanting similar games, and if any of the news about them is to go by, Rockstar is pozzing the fuck out and GTA IV style comedy/story telling is a no no these days.

Yes, a few years ago they removed content that was deemed 'transphobic' from GTA V: crossdressers, drag queens, tranny prostitutes, certain objects like action figures with interchangeable genitals.

True, they could make the obese twerking sheboons in the trailer into something very amusing but I don't see it happening that way. They probably want to appeal to the same annoying black gamers who were cooming over the inclusion of 'grills' as a customisation option, rather than isolating them with racial humour; however, a lot of those people are black men and they are not always entirely hostile to jokes about black women.

I'm not sure if anything was really censored from the GTA SA remake (even though it was a technical disaster anyway), but I remember GTA IV humour being much more edgy than the relatively mild stereotypes of GTA SA: money-grabbing treacherous Jewish diamond merchants, fake 'activist' crackhead black/latrinx preachers, insane sheboons, illegal immigration, unstable roidmonkey retards, lascivious homosexual circuit queens, North Korean spies, Asians eating dogs, crazy Westernised Arabs with expensive cars and their conservative Islamic family, Irish criminals, Slav prostitutes and mail-order brides, one of the main mail services being called 'Post Op' and basically the entire game. It is feasible that they could just pass it off as a remake of unedited content, but I really don't think they would.

Not SA but in Vice City Phil Cassidy had a rebel flag on his shirt that was removed from the remaster and replaced with a skull.

People still use the PS4, and the PS4 can obviously run GTA IV. They'll at least have it cross gen. Then again that probably points out how fucking retarded the PS5 is.

I saw recently that Max Payne will be getting a Resident Evil 2,3,4 style remake.
I really dug RE4 remake so I'm interested in that.
But much like Resident Evil 5 remake, we probably won't be getting a GTA IV remake.

Haven't played Alan Wake 2. Or Control yet. To me, Remedy games look to be your average third person shooter with some supernatural gimmick to progress the story.

they'd been working on it in the background since at least 2014 though it officially started development proper after rdr2 was finished because its kinda hard to work on two really big games at the same time. I'd say nearly 7 years by the time it should release.

Based on what we've seen of the map and what buildings are and aren't there in downtown Miami, they started the groundwork on the map circa 2018 due to the complete omission of the brightline train and several new prominent Miami skyscrapers since Miami is in a ultra construction boom.

That pisses me off. One, all "news coverage" of GTA 6 just milks off the footage from that ONE trailer with speculation. Two, the lack of viral marketing is insulting to the fans as T2 believes that we don't deserve ANY kind of updates and transparency on an entertainment product WE helped become mainstream.

The level of arrogance that R*/T2 has is astronomically asinine. Hate on EA, Ubisoft, Activision all you want, which THEY release their AAA titles, there's regular updates over time to continue to make their games relevant.

GTA is such a cultural phenomenon that they know they don't have to update anyone.
They could release GTA 6 half finished tomorrow and they'll still have record breaking sales. EA, Ubisoft, Activision doesn't have that amount of sway, clout, swag, whatever you wanna call it, especially not Ubisoft. They did the same shit with V, so they don't see a reason to change now. The only thing that might happen is some people (few) might not pre order, or buy day one due to all the talk of them dialing down the offensive humor.
