Just saw that the newest update is once again a spy/military/future shit update. I will continue not to play GTA Online.

I've also realized that I think I don't give any shits about GTA VI anymore. Never thought I'd see that day.

If R* doesn't care about the legacy of their franchise, why should anybody else?

I want to ask, how do you make a crime game "woke?" Then, I realized they made a WWII game "woke," so this will be a sight to behold.

Short memories, huh?

And here is the list of awful games that still have better metacritic scores than this piece of shit

What game is that? I've never heard of that title.

GTA 6 is going to be a massive copefest in more ways than one. We already see a preview of what's to come with woke elements of RDR2, this is just going to make GTA to be a shell of its former self.
If you want to seriously be anal, engage in murder with a White NPC vs. a Black NPC and see how fast you'd receive a wanted level.

Maybe it'll be like the Japanese version of GTA: SA where shooting a bullet at civilian NPCs immediately triggers a wanted level.

Saints Row Reboot did something far worse than being "woke" or outright bad, it committed the crime of being fucking boring. And buggy as fuck at launch from what I've heard.

And it rightfully killed Volition for good, just as well since it was a bunch of retards wearing the skinsuit of a company dudes who gave a fuck founded and nurtured into something good.

Is anyone surprised? They went back to remove some meaningless background item in GTA5 years later because it made fun of troons, a doll or an action figure I believe(last gen versions still have it, lmao).

I can't believe they waited too long to release an HD Vice City game, as a fan of that one it hurts.
Was RDR2 ever woke though? The writing is anachronistic sure as in viewing 1899 through the lens of 2018 but I don't remember Orthur sucking Micah's dick

It had hints of it, and mind that is coming from someone who still loved the game.
While some of the accusations against it are in my opinion wrong (Like how some claim the Arthur is a proto redditor wholesome anti racism activist who does things like mocking the eugenicist you can find in Saint Denis when that could be better explained by Dutch and his ideals being based around 19th century anarcho-primitvism so its not unrealistic to have Arthur not hate negroes for example) but for every one point that can be defended there are a few more that are valid criticisms.

Abigail shooting Milton came out of nowhere and like Arya destroying the white walkers robbed Arthur of that part his character's journey when she previously had not interacted with Milton before that mission. Sadie Adler is ultimately a sociopath who would be treated little better than Micah if she was a male. The gunslinger sidequest has every man be either pathetic liars who were never skilled or irredeemable scumbags but the woman is a girlboss who doesn't need your help to evade the army of bountyhunters after her and is the only one who will cooperate with you. The last one I can think of is the old slaver hunter side quest which felt less like a story of finding out a old man your helping did some messed up things in the past and more like the writers wanted to insert the strawman they wrote years earlier in a "I owned this heckin chud and everybody clapped" post.

Most unforgivably of all is how they at times really leaned heavy into the safe edgy trope of racists too scared to say nigger, with almost every instance instead being a anti chungus baddie calling someone a "darkie"... The sole exception for this is in a single mission, which is the one any only time a son of Yakub says le n word, yet even then the devs felt so scared by it that they made it so you would only hear it if you send Lenny out and then don't do anything for a painfully long time until the NPC finally says it, knowing fully well that practically none of the playerbase would ever see their problematic creation and either meme it or throw a hissy fit in their DMs.

What wasn't woke about it? Diverse gang. Sadie turning into a ridiculous girl boss. Indians portrayed as the good guys who were suppressed by the evil white man. Constant sperging about the "stupid, racist, inbred southerners", Bill is suddenly gay now, all the PoC are nice, intelligent, educated people (even Javier who was nothing but a monster in RDR1), killing the KKK gives you good karma, killing Norris Forsythe gives you good karma, killing the slave hunter for no reason at all gives you good karma. at the same time you can't even really insult the suffrage woman in st. denis because even with the negative response, arthur will ultimately agree with her cause. And thousand other things.

I just finished GTA:SA today, I think it does some things better than IV, but overall I still think 4 and its DLC are the best GTA games. Decent mission variety, engaging gunplay, driving etc. way better experience compared to 5's cramped mission design.
I grew up with the Original three never played 4. Replaying those games made me realized how pozzed gaming has become. SA probably is the best of the 3. Sure, the flying mission are frustrating, but fuck is it fun to explore that world and see how much love they put in that game back in the day. They definitely made the remasters a lot better compared to before, but fuck do I miss the feel of a PS2 controller and my big fat PS2.

Arthur virtue signals about feminism and anti racism in the game, the Indians are portrayed as noble savages while the US Army is portrayed as evil genociders, The KKK is in the game just to be shit on even though they only reformed in the 20's, Sadie Adler, None of the non white gang members are ever portrayed in an unsympathetic light and so on and so on...

Just watch this video if you want it in exhaustive detail:

That's the Saints Row reboot, a game so awful that being woke is the least of its problems, it genuinely has no redeeming qualities outside of having a more visually distinct map than Steelport

I actually wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, for some reason. Initially, I thought hey maybe there is some charm to it, and maybe the customisation is quite cool and in-depth. I wanted to see the annoying quirky Marvel-style of writing as heartwarming and different. Maybe the premise of needing rent money wasn't that bad. Maybe it just was taking a different approach where funny little normal people could run around and be humorous and wholesome.

I didn't get very far with that delusion, though. After the tutorial finished, and you get the mission to drive home and whatnot, I still maintained some and thought 'huh, this is actually a pretty nice looking map'. I don't think it lasted a second longer than the store robbery mission, after which you just get thrown into the boring, terribly-made, characterless, soulless open world with nothing to do and very little feeling of life. The phone missions were all terrible, boring 'challenges' and nothing like the hilarious Saints Row activities we all love (like Septic Avenger). I didn't even bother with the next story mission, I just got bored and stopped playing. It just feels like a shitty unfinished pre-release or leak of some kind.
