Catalina wasn't military/police trained, she was just that hard-headed, balls-of-steel, and lucky until her luck ran out.
Catalina had an abusive father from some dialogue given form one of her missions. I feel that's why they didn't give much background for characters for the trilogy. Give a bit of information, then have the player fill in the blanks themselves.

Can't wait for mods to make her look decent. I hate muscular women.
Doesn't look promising - been playing GTA: O on and off and my good-will is all used up and I don't even mean the predatory monetization - GTA IV probably being my favourite game overall.

Or worse, in-engine gameplay like Watch Dogs, Rainbow Six, honestly just goobisoft in general. "Product shown does not represent the final product" shit.
Don't wanna justify Ubisoft completely here, but Watch Dogs only happened because they realized the hardware of the PS4/Xbone were worse than they thought and they didn't wanna piss off console players by making the good graphics PC exclusive + they didn't have enough time/couldn't be fucked to optimize the game. Ubisoft realized that they can keep lying after, though.
I don't think it's fair to call GTA Online a cash grab considering it costs literally nothing and is a bonus on top of a full singleplayer game. It gets minimal updates, but there is no subscription fee. Some of the updates are quite nice. All the heists were pretty cool, especially the Casino Heist and the Doomsday Heist, and the general story around Avon. Selling ingame money and GTA+ are things I don't like, but quite honestly, I don't get the mentality of someone, who would even consider spending real money on ingame currency. Money is easy enough to make in the game. At times you can earn a lot through certain activities. There's even passive income. You can literally make a million or two a day just from playing the game however way you want to and looting your safe.

In the beginning I only played adversary mode and all those things they put on the front page. There was a game, I think it was called Mystery Box No.5 or something, where there was one bike, and the objective was to stop on top of it for as long as possible, and other players would ram you with cars or attack you with hatchets. That was the funniest shit I've ever played in any stay. Games like the RPG vs. Insurgents or Snipers vs. Panto. I would make millions just playing these games all day. The Assault on Cayo Perico or Assault on ATT-16 would sometimes give you around 300k$ for a win, when they were featured on the frontpage with double or triple money. I don't think I've ever gotten that much value out of a free game, even with all its flaws.
I think GTAO being called a cash grab was warranted prior to stuff like Cayo Perico, where it was a pain in the ass to grind money as you basically had to have a group of friends to play heists with, or you had to pay up. Yeah drug selling and gunrunning were things but they're side stuff, so you don't get that much money from them. If you wanted to enjoy stuff like vehicles, you had to grind for a whiiile. Now it's not so hard.

Worst thing about Online that it encourages griefing and vehicles like the Oppressor Mark II or the Deluxo are way too overpowered.
User-made gamemodes are amazing, it's just too bad not as many people play them as much.

To be honest, I play GTA Online for the car count alone.
With potentially no street shitters left to outsource to
If the nuclear fallout doesn't reach Bangladesh, they've got that those guys left for outsourcing. Plenty of third-worlders.
beat the shit out of a jock and toss him in a trashcan.
Or dunk him into a toilet!
that it won't be full of jeetcode, but time will tell.
indians are making the map and object models specifically, not actually programming iirc. still could fuck up it but they've also been at rockstar since RDR2's development so i don't think they'll fuck it up too much
Let's appreciate how the beer in the beer bottles is rendered as actual carbonated liquid.
The only other game that I've seen do this is Half Life Alyx via a shader, and that game didn't allow the liquid to escape the bottle.

Heists prior to Cayo Perico weren't that lucrative. And drug selling and gunrunning give a lot of money for a moderate time investment. Full stock sale of gunrunning gives you 1 million $ (that's 500k profit if you buy the supplies) and depending on the mission you get it only takes like 20 minutes. Cocaine and Meth are also really profitable. The Nightclub gives a lot of passive income and you can sell goods, that are acquired completely passively. Just do sell missions every now and then and get over a million for a short sell run. I really don't see how the game can be called a cash grab at any point. Even back when money was harder to acquire, things were also less expensive, and there were less things to buy. People, who have been playing the game for a long time, have run out of things to buy, and when something new is released, they tend to already have enough money and can simply buy it. That's how easy money is to make, even before Cayo Perico. There's just a ton of people, who have absolutely no sense for making money in games. They won't even look up anything online to help them.

You're one of those people, that complain in chat, whenever I kill them, right?

Just being killed every now and then is not griefing. If they pin you down, stalk you and kill you over and over again, preventing you from actually playing the game, that is griefing, but that is relatively rare, and can be counteracted by going into passive mode or switching sessions. You can even go into an invite only session, if you hate other players so much. I know, it's an online game, but there really isn't any reason to hang around with other players, if they only bother you. You can enjoy your cars in a private session where you are completely alone.

The game does encourage killing other players, and that's fine, cause that's the point of the game. There are bounties, that can be put on players, the game tells you when someone sells something and actively tells you to go mess with them, sure. Which is also why that's not griefing. It's part of the game. It's a PvP game. It's about gang wars. You can recruit other players and prevent rivaling motorcycle clubs or CEO companies from doing their business. Some of the most fun comes out of that. Even recruiting other players is just temporary. It's not a game, where positive interactions with other players are necessary or even wanted. You don't drive around Los Santos and when you encounter someone, start a conversation with them. You'll most likely kill them, if only because you might fear, if you don't, they will kill you first.

But the game does not encourage griefing. You can report players for griefing, you can vote them out of a session. Not that that does anything, but that's the opposite of encouragement. And there is no reward for it. Griefing is its own reward. It's the tears in chat, that incentivize these people.

The Oppressor Mark II and the Deluxo are not that powerful. Hate for the Oppressor is widespread, but people would probably feel better about it, if they knew, that with it, I end up killing myself more often than others. Flying against lampposts and buildings, getting flipped over and falling to my death, accidentally blowing myself up, because I can't lock onto the car and have to aim, while chasing it on the ground, and the Oppressor is pointed slightly downward. If someone gets out of his vehicle, I'm toast, cause the missiles won't lock on. And I have to wait 5 minutes to resummon it. If I want to stop a car, like a drug vehicle or a Gruppe Sechs van from a random event, since I can't blow it up, and I can't use any handheld weapons while on it, I have to get off it, get into a normal car and then continue the chase, losing precious time. The lock-on missiles are complete and utter dog shit. I have blown all of them on some targets without hitting once. The ones of the Deluxo are better, but the Deluxo is a lot slower and I'm often too late to destroy shipments, because I literally can not chase some vehicles. Helicopters are way faster. They always outfly me in my Deluxo. The Deluxo also flips over constantly. Often other players have blown up my Deluxo, while it was laying on its back like a turtle, trying to flip over.

And I'm relatively ok with all these weaknesses. Without them, they probably would be overpowered. It's annoying, but every vehicle will annoy you in slightly different ways. Different vehicles have different strengths and weaknesses, and the Oppressor and Deluxo are certainly really, really good in a lot of ways. But if they were that good, literally everyone would be using them all the time. A Nightshark can take so many hits, I would run out of missiles on my Oppressor and would have to resummon it to get new ones. And even then, it's not guaranteed I will finish it off. But if they are so overpowered, you can just use them. There you go. Now you are on equal footing with everyone else, who uses them, and have an edge over anyone, who doesn't.

I know it sucks, if you enjoy other vehicles more, because they look cool. As a Zhaba-enjoyer, I really feel how much it sucks, that the vehicle is so slow and hard to control. I'd also like to drive my Fränken Stange more often, but what's the point if I get blown up immediately anyway?

That's a you problem. Mk2 is ridiculously easy to use - most of the hate from PvPers come because it absolutely outclassed all the helicopters while requiring multitudes of less skill. Deluxo is only sort of broken when you know how to abuse the missile lock-on, but that's until the first explosive sniper shows up.
Imagine writing all that shit for some predatory piece of shit online game who legit killed storyline content for the main game
I think we could have both, honestly. But GTA V had a pretty lame story, so obviously they didn't have another story DLC in them and why I'm very blackpilled on the VI.

The real question I have is that why does a crime game have to have militarized vehicles or a supersonic space cannon on demand for players to use in an urban environment? Is this GTA or a military exercise?

Do you think VI will have single player expansions? I want to say DLC, but that could just mean cars or weapons.

or have some sort of consequence system where you can fuck up the MCs relationship via cheating and debauchery
People were talking about there being a system in place like that but it will probably be half baked.

I don't appreciate stuff like this because it's pointless bloat that just makes the budget insane and the system barely able to run the game.

Nah, not happening. GTAV was going to have expansions until GTA Online started making lots of money, then they scrapped it. Not worth the investment for so little return. It probably also didn't help that the two GTAIV expansions never did as well as they should have.

TBH the two GTAIV expansions were Xbox exclusives for a while, which probably depressed sales and poisoned Rockstar’s priors.

Very unlikely tbh. I think they'll try to replicate the GTA V - GTAO model. So base game, with re-releases for next gen and then just milk online with content drip feed.

I really don't get the people, who are disappointed there was no GTAV main story DLC or expansion. What was it they originally planned, something with Trevor as an officer? If you want to see the main characters, some of them actually appear in GTA Online. There is story content with Lamar, Franklin, Trevor, Lester and Ron, on top of tons of new characters introduced with tons of new story content. There is an entire heist with Trevor. That is probably more than you would have ever gotten in any DLC or expansion.

The entirety of the Doomsday Heist together with the ULP follow-up where you go back into Mount Chilliad, and you have to see Avon's cyborgs is some of the funniest and most interesting story and gameplay I've seen in video games in general.

And you all get that for free in GTA Online. For singleplayer DLC or an expansion you probably would have had to pay.

I'm glad they keep adding content to GTA Online, which I can play for free, But somehow they force you to spend your life savings on shark cards, even though they shove money up your ass at every opportunity.

I have zero interest in GTA Online. When I tried it, it was garbage. It literally runs worse than Multi-Theft Auto, which was actually fun.
