the second trailer was a hack job hurry up job and killed my entire hype for this game
Would it? If anything, with how popular GTA V was and is with conventions, the sex appeal from Lucia would definitely captivate a larger audience for obvious reasons. Don't tell me that the second trailer with T&A was not intentional from R*. Key point: conventions. I'm sure the participants keep all the money from merch.

IGN did an interview with Dan Houser yesterday at LA Comic con, it seems like it was supposed to be about his new stuff but they talk about games mostly. He confirmed he's had no involvement in the writing of GTA VI, which I think most of us assumed but I've seen people on other parts of the internet seem surprised.

He talks a lot about the development of GTA III. He brings up stuff I knew about like nobody in the gaming press giving a shit about GTA III at E3 2001, but I never realized just how dire it was for Take Two. They were apparently so broke that they had to find a motion capture studio that would pay them by the second, they could only have 3 people at once in the cutscenes, they didn't believe they had the ability/resources to make Claude speak (he doesn't refer to him by Claude btw). The whole thing reminds me of how Morrowind basically saved Bethesda.

Take Two was apparently so broke they couldn't afford to meet the demand of GTAIII, which was why it was so notoriously hard to find copies of GTAIII that holiday.

One thing I never knew was that Take Two was broke when GTA III released and it sounds like it didn't have enough cash on hand to physically meet the demand of the game which was why the game was notoriously sold out all the time.
If that’s the case, how come there’s ample third party copies out in the wild? Not even Greatest Hits?

No, they couldn't meet the demand in the moment. They had to make more disks as the money came in, basically. They couldn't just continuously print new copies.

After finishing the interview, it sounds like Dan never actually had contact with corporate people at Take Two. Which kind of surprises me. It really does seem like Dan just quit because he thought he got it "perfect" with Red Dead 2 and had nowhere else to go with gaming.

PSA: don’t let the timeline fool you. The actual interview starts from 1:08:50. It’s IGN doing those stream starts in X minutes for the rest. I hate that.

Lucia is gonna make Sadie saddler look like no one the way she's gonna girlboss her way thru the game. Honestly just wish they'd release online. Story is gonna be sony/ubisoft tier slop

I haven't heard of different things (then again I've never paid much attention) but the definitive edition on Steam was perfectly fine for me, 100%'d it with no issues.
I don't think there were many changes tbh. I might be wrong but I think they might have eventually patched the purple nines glitch and there might have been some subtitle changes?

Most of the changes were in the ports to other systems. I think some early copies *may* have still featured the blue LCPD cars in the opening credits, but even that I'm not sure about.

What is the best way to play that? I've heard different things about the various versions.
Pirated original PC version. Best lighting with all DLC, although definitive edition does have more physics objects and NPC models, but that's it. Can't even buy the original version legally anymore (there could be a few steam keys lying around), it's DE that's sold digitally on all stores now. However, which one is better seems to be a point of contention so I recommend checking for yourself. Either way, the game is still great no matter which way you play.

He's such a fucking midwit. One of the hallmarks of actual intelligence is curiosity. The thing that literally spawned his career, such as it is, and was a massive global phenomenon certainly warrants enough basic curiosity to check out what the fuss is about and try to understand why it's so popular. Again especially considering that piece of art is what turned him from a nobody into at the very least a "hey it's that guy!".
GTAV really is shallow though and the idea that it is artistic is laughable. There's nothing to really be curious about when it comes to GTAV's success, in fact the more you learn about it the more cynical you get regarding popular videogames. It's just normies and kids automatically consuming and then gushing about it because it's  the sandbox crime game, essentially a household name. To be a fan of more substantial art but be typecast as the GTA guy must be frustrating, though taking it out on the people who admire you is a bad move. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt in saying that maybe he was trying to constructive by offering a piece of art he really appreciates in his replies, though there's no need to be a dick about it. (Or maybe there is after the 200th time you've been asked)

Since Dan Houser and Lazlow are not with R*, this leaves me concerned about the writing quality for VI onward. If GTA Online is any indication, it'll definitely be weaker from previous entries. I doubt a re-write is in the works now from the last delay. It's probably just going through beta before reaching gold status for manufacturing.

the writing in GTA has always been, if it's there and it's good then all the better, but i really doubt people enjoy the games because of it, even if they claim to. i think the bigger worry is the music choice on the radio stations without lazlow. GTA V was weak in a lot of areas, but it's biggest draw, at least to me, was the music. IV, SA, VC, 3, all had amazing radio stations. i think that's genuinely a bigger part of GTA's success than their writing. and the nostalgic part of me will miss hearing lazlow's voice on the stupid talk radios.

on the other hand, i hope houser leaving has taken the mission hand-holding with him. in that IGN interview he gushed about RDR2 and GTA V's writing being his proudest work, and while it's undeniable those have better narratives than the rest of the series, i can't help but picture how much those two games railroaded you into playing a certain way just to meet the plot. GTA used to be really flexible with how you completed missions, and i think it's because the writing was more vague. ever since IV, which houser said was the turnaround, it's really felt like bowling with gutter guards, and i think that's a consequence of the series giving too much weight to the writing. that all being said, i'm not worried about VI without houser.

This! The story was good up until Trevor coming im then you become the fibs bitch. Biggest crime is having boring ass Franklin over lamar as a protagonist.

gta 5 doesnt have a heart, you cant root for anyone

the bar for 6 is low as fuck if they cant copy point break/bonnie and clyde then whats the fucking point
It has a pair of tits and a le thick latina so you will buy it anyways. For everyone else, it has Vice City memberberries so it will sell well no matter what. The entire game could just be the dude and his girlfriend having their nightly romp, then waking up to watch in-universe equivalent of Netflix for a few hours before the credits will roll and it's already GOTY material without a single ounce of gameplay. Not like GTA games are known for their gameplay outside of sandbox, the missions are genuinely more linear than COD campaigns.

You got to remember that this game has been in the pipleine for a decade, so there is still Houser influence all over the game. It will take until their next game to see how his departure has truly effected the studio, GTA 6 will be the same boring GTA IV/5 esque sandbox slop but browner and with Florida man jokes.

The male protagonist will have zero personality and be the bottom bitch in the relationship.

The GTA fanbase will finally be able to play through a relationship with a BPD hoe.

The one thing I will applaud Rockstar for is if they manage to have enough discipline to not include a single DRUMPF reference.
