I'm not sure what would be funnier; invisible forcefields preventing you from doing le hecking hate crimes in a game where running down random people and robbing their corpse is part of the experience or if doing hate crimes magically brings the entire US military down on your head with an instant max wanted level.

GTA-verse America is such a horrid eeeeeeeeevil hellscape of capitalism and the American dream gone wrong but if you dare kill a gay guy then the President himself launches a tactical nuke at you.

I can see this happening and a bunch of retards will have a shit fit just like they did with the gay district of New York featuring rainbow flags in Spider-Man.

I don't remember people "throwing a shitfit" over the flags in Spiderman, though you could just be talking about nexuses of autism like the Farms and I wasn't on here at the time so idk.

In the normiesphere I saw some people complain about it, but they were a microscopic number to begin with and most of them just... removed it with mods then stopped talking about it. It didn't become a controversy until Nexus sperged out and nuked everything even resembling the de-gay flag mod from the site, banned users, made an entire statement about "not allowing hate on the platform" then locked the replies.

I don't think so, couldn't find anything after a cursory glance either. But I know there was a shitstorm on youtube and a few people got banned for posting clips of them killing her in creative ways. I remember cackling at the one of the guy walking up, waiting for her to finish her speech, and simply cold cocking her before casually walking away. IIRC Arthur even had a smartass voice line and that was the one that pissed everyone off and caused all the bans and media shitstorm lol.

GTA 1 featured on GMTV (good morning television) with Aemon Holmes - A tv presenter on a morning TV show in the UK, it's how I and all of my friends first heard about the game.

I'm not surprised by it considering the two groups have nothing to do with one another in the first place. Hare Krishnas are a Hindu sect rather than Buddhist, and even among Hindoodoos they're a weird niche (and an outright cult depending on who you ask).
