The Professional has earned so much money that he's hit an integer overflow glitch and can, realistically, never earn the billionaire trophy now.

That's actually impressive. The Professional loves GTA Online so much, he made a side gig from it involving strategies, tips, news and persistent grinding.

This isn't even unusual for him. He has 100% GTA IV many years ago and printed a special plaque from the Rockstar Games Social Club.

You know, replaying GTA IV, I find it funny that Niko is more of a gangsta than CJ. CJ eventually decides, "Yeah, I should do more than just go around shooting niggas",
"Gangsta" would not be the word choice I'd use to describe Niko. "Hardened criminal/contract killer" would be a better description. Both want to get out of their life, but their lives are on different levels of the criminal spectrum. Niko has been through a lot that would make CJ's character archetype and history look like schoolyard hijinks.

I feel like Niko and Dwaynes hang outs really enforce this kind of thing.

I was just thinking that, but CJ is younger than Dwayne. Actually, I remember one hangout where Niko chastises Dwayne's complaining by sharing his desolate childhood.

Dwayne was complaining but not having a color TV as a kid, Niko countered that by saying he had no electricity in his village until he was 12 years old. Really puts things in perspective.

Niko doesn't do that to one-up Dwayne; he wants Dwayne to redeem himself from being a perpetual victim. You are right; Niko and Dwayne complement each other.

Watch as it gets delayed further because of the RAM shortage.

Will it make sense? Lol, no, but Rockstar will def. use it as an excuse.
And how old as hell Amanda looks.

Women of her kind tend to age like absolute shit so its fitting.

To be honest, that did sound like shit that wouldn't work so it's good that it got canned. Consider the fact that RDR's Undead Nightmare was an entirely separate storyline in the style of EFLC and it was a one-off self-contained alternative reality. Trying to do the same, but in GTA V with all three protagonists? The whole three protagonists thing wasn't working well to begin with, and to try and make three separate DLC's based around that system with the wacky sci-fi storylines was a recipe for an illogical disaster.

I cant say for sure given how we dont know much about the alien and zombie DLC but I'd assume that each DLC would focus on each lead specifically. WIth the plots either being self contained or AUs at most.

The agent one focuses on Trevor
The alien one possibly focuses on Micheal (given he apparently he has fear of them)
The zombie one would probably be Franklin

All probably satires of the genre, likely even giving the black guy the horror theme one as to likely have a "Black Guy dies first...or does he?!" sort of recurrent joke.

Im not saying it wouldnt be shit but we cant be sure either way. I think that even if they werent as good, I'd argue that people would still much prefer them over more Online content.
GTA VI gonna still suck.
All the hopium you can inject in your balls don't gonna work.

Here, have one.

The half life community has plenty of these to spare after the great "Freak the fuck out. It's FUCKING over" of 2025 at TGA
Who is “there” for Toni? Almost all the mission givers were there for strictly business and/or died or disappeared.

That tends to happen when you trust this lovely mug

Wccftech: CWA Canada and Local Toronto Game Devs Protest at Rockstar Toronto in Solidarity with 34 Fired Workers (archive)

Wccfkek has exclusive coverage of this little protest.

David Carcasole seems to be the wokest person on staff lately and they love shitting on him. He's covering the union busting but also stuff like these:
Hasn’t it been confirmed that the fired employees were disclosing secrets?

. Niko has been through a lot that would make CJ's character archetype and history look like schoolyard hijinks.
I know, still, I don't remember him really even trying another way. "Maybe I can try another thing." Sure, sure, he steals cars, but he could try something that doesn't involve directly commiting the crime. CJ can get money from the Casino if one day he decides, "I am too old for shooting."

However, accepting missions to kill from a random person on the phone does make the "How much you get paid to kill people?" line hit hard.

Unrelated, but I find it funny that people here seem to like Johnny, or at least, like him more than Trevor. You would expect a different opinion about a jew who gets cucked and fights white supremacists (the other biker gang). Granted I only find Trevor meh, but surprised no one in the woke games thread mentioned Lost and the Damned.

Been replaying RDR 1 and 2 these days, and I gotta say, I like how 1 gives the feeling of "this world is dying, and you are alone." At least Niko can still call his friends after his game ends, and while NPCs just disappear in 99% of open worlds, you can at least think, "They are still there" for Tony and CJ.

Jack meanwhile got nothing, all of his father's allies either die or move out of the region after 1911, You got a single unique mission for the epilogue, where it is clear that he got nothing to live for (and since you can't kill the Fed you talk up in Blackwater, he will be identified as the guy who killed Ross). Everything just feels empty. Civilization won, the West is dead.

I also replayed GTA IV, and I still don't get why some people like Johnny. He and his DLC feel the most "not great, not bad", but nothing really clicks for me. Sure, killing a protagonist in the next game is a weird move (they could have just used another past NPC, as LCS did for Avery).
It wasn't even like it was the first time we ever saw a protagonist die in a GTA game since Vic's death was at the very beginning of Vice City. We just didn't know he was going to star in VCS at the time was all.

The lore from VCS was not established then with VC's release. And, the protagonist did not canonally die in their own featured game.

Yeah, again, I find that killing him like that is weird, we already got another GTA IV character that gets killed (Rocco), which is like Avery in LCS (Iirc a result of his VA being an asshole during the production of VC)

Finished RDR1 again, the game got its problems (I am ot a fan of half the Mexico missions thanks to escort and turret missions being ass), but it is still a great game, enjoyed more than Episodes from Liberty City as a whole. I do wish GTA IV gets a bone, even if it is not my favorite, come on, how hard is to port it to consoles now?

Yeah, I agree with the main problem of V's story being that the focus of it is off, with Franklin, despite having a lot of missions, playing third wheel to Michael and Trevor, I hope they learned the lesson for VI.

By that standard Johnny didn't die in his own game since he snuffs it in 5.

The biggest issue I have with characters dying isn't that they die, just that by the end of their game they have crawled over enough bodies and "won" and more or less did it on their own terms and hopefully learned something along the way. Claude learns not to trust girlfriends, Tony learns not to work with partners, CJ learns your best friends will still screw you over, Franklin learns that still breathing at the end of the day is as much of a win as anyone is entitled to, etc.

What does irk me is these characters you have spent so much time with and learned to love are just used like toilet paper, not because the stakes are that high, but as a shock value for the gamer. Oh shit, Johnny ends up a tweaker and oh shit Trevor just stomped his head in! This guy Trevor must be a psycho! Oh shit, That's Vic Vance and oh shit! He just got killed by some guys during a drug deal! Things are really touch in Vice City. Oh sit! That's Marnie and Oh Shit! she's joined that Epsilon Project cult!

I find interesting that despite people treating Claude as someone who betrays everyone he meets, he only really betrays Kenji, the other people betray him first.

Toni however is smart enough to give shotguns to every other guy in the mafia area

He didn't die in TLaD.

I can sorta forgive that recton since the GTA lore was beginning to be established over time. However, it sucks knowing Vic's fate ahead of time, then they establish his character as anti-drug dealing two years prior.
