Rockstar has helped a they/them terminally ill fan play GTA 6 ahead of its November release date :story:

It could be clickbait, but:

it also could not be.
At first, I thought: "what leaks would be prevented from a digital release?" Then I remembered that files could be discovered from physical media. And it'd be harder to return/refund a digital purchase barring unplayable video games like Cyberpunk 2077.

If GTA VI would release physically, it's a guarantee that it'll release with at least two Blu-Rays. We'll see what happens. Oh, and I believe digital purchases allow a larger cut to the developer/publisher. Don't quote me on that.

Funny enough San Andreas was originally planned to be on 2 DVDs, but had content cut out to fit it on just one.

I'll reminisce a tiny bit about GTAV

Multiplayer: After I reached level 120, got the minigun and, my co-op buddies stopped playing/coming online, it felt like a 9-5 job replaying the same missions over and fucking over again. 1 hour felt like 15 minutes. I'd waste all my resources on killing random people in free roam after grinding for hours, but it stopped being fun after a while.

I stopped playing sometime in 2017-2018

I can understand NEETs who don't have jobs and need something to do, but who the fuck finds this shit fun? Why do people play on dogshit roleplay servers where everyone is a misery golem?

Singleplayer: thought the main "Save Everyone" ending was dogshit, but I enjoyed Michael and Trevor. Franklin seemed like he needed to be there.

I was wondering, what do you guys think of GTA Online?
I remember it being boring as fuck on console because the bank heist would net you around $300k per couple hours as host and even less if you’re not host. Not to mention how much time was spent waiting on randoms to fill slots just for them to demand like a 40% cut and leave immediately if you say no. Youd be grinding for days just to get a supercar that looked good and find out its actually super shitty. It was actually slightly faster to do the police standoffs for 30k every 17 minutes.
A couple years later i started again on PC and it was a lot more fun not only because of the hackers doing money drops in every server but also Cayo Perico actually paid out pretty well to the point that it was slightly faster than money drops and you didnt need to deal with randoms. You could actually buy things in the game.
That being said Rockstar is making moves that show they prefer the gtaRP crowd because they whale thousands into some server with mods anyway. The goal of gta 6 online will be to get those people to spend on vanilla content.

A while ago I lucked out and found a custom AFK mission where the enemies would blow themselves up with rocket launchers. You just needed to keep the control stick moving and kill one guy around round 10 or the game would kick you. Read a book/watch a movie or sport/play on another screen and have a string on the controller, kill the guy and then you don't have to do the stupid missions over and over. Grinding made easy. I bought a bunch of rare cars (my favourite was reparing old junkers, wish there were more of those ) I just drove around then I got bored and just did missions I wanted to do.

Should have just made myself a billionaire offline through the stock market, but there's no insuring cars offline. I need mods but I'm not tech savvy enough to install them with GTA, they're unintuitive. Games boring for me now. Need a new city.

More likely you can't do anything firearm related during the Gay Pride mission ala the suffragette march mission in Red Dead Redemption. Just boring escort/forced Marc through the route of the parade shit.
I can't wait for the mods that let you massacre the fags. I don't play on PC I just know I'll get a kick out of the malding homes screeching about it. I don't have any faith in cockstar giving the fans what they want and will placate and cowtow to faggots that are just going to complain anyway/ don't even play it at all

I can't see GTA RP being a breakout hit for GTA VI like how GTA Online was for GTA V. Where is the fun in roleplaying day-to-day life in an open-world game centered around action-packed criminality? It sounds tedious.

It's like the people that get a kick out of games like Harvest Moon (guilty as a mf). It's the seemingly normal stuff that makes it kinda satisfying.
But in HM you're actually growing a farm and whatnot, each day might throw a curveball at you. GTA RP you're just.. I actually have no idea, it seems like it's made for trolls to have fun and for fuddy duddies to get mad about.
The people that mod GTA RP are most definitely redditors since they take online shit as serious as real life especially the moderation aspect (a topic of deadly seriousness donchaknow), which in turn attracts the trolls because there is not much more fun or satisfying online than upsetting the turbogeek autism rangers that occupy reddit.

There's progression in those sort of games, which makes them engaging. GTA RP doesn't have that pull, at least for me. As you say, they take WAY TOO SERIOUSLY. That's an issue I have with some of GTA V's minigames. Why do I have to mop for prep? I barely want to do that IRL.
