Shit, it's been so long since I touched that game I almost forgot the huge shitshow over how much content got cut from it thanks to T2. I have a feeling they did that because they didn't want that game to impact the sales of EFLC.
Real shame too. It's a damn fine game, but I bet it could have been the best open world game of the PS3 era.

Les Benzies leaving was a huge blow, but I'm certain that Dan leaving is the death knell for Rockstar as we knew them. Say what you will about the policy of putting all studios on one game simultaneously, rather than letting them make their own games like they used to, or the occasionally-pretentious/preachy writing, but at least the games were ambitious and strove to be achievements from a non-economic point of view as well as breaking sales records. Please no-one mention that Sam's still there, because I guarantee you he'll be happy to have Zelnick's hand up his ass all day telling him to put more staff on crowbarring a shitty MTX-stuffed online mode into every game. They'll be nothing but Take-Two's lapdogs from now on if you ask me.

It's sad on another level too because as I understood it, Dan was the one pushing to get Bully II off the ground for years and years as his pet project, only for it to get cancelled multiple times.

Yeah, weren't there rumors that Sam is pretty much still with Rockstar simply as a face and is more focused on music production or something else outside of the studio?

indeed, he has now EDM music label called Circoloco records
No wonder they've been so unproductive for the past three years, how can they get work done when the head of the studio is barely around to give them direction? God, something seriously needs to come around and punch Rockstar to get them back to reality.

TBF, I don't think Sam has ever had that much of a hand in the development side of things. I always got the impression he was business guy, Dan was the creative guy and Leslie was the get shit done guy.

Bully II would also have been perfect if it showed Jimmy as a college student exposing the “safe space” trend that made universities into indoctrination day care centers.

The mental image of Jimmy having mock dyed hair college students and SJWs/anti-SJWs that push “woke” nonsense onto other students would be a great idea. I think if Dan and crew were still around, he could have made it work.

You can thank Red Dead Redemption for that. I would've loved a Bully sequel. A school setting with R*'s expertise on open world games and satire writing is just oozing with potential.

Given T2's direction with monetization and "diversity, equality and inclusion," titles like Bully may never see the light of day beyond ports. The big honchos that made those games possible like Benzies and one the Housers leaving also make that reality more unlikely.

Be glad Max Payne got a proper conclusion right before Take Two sold out.

Max Payne 2 was the proper conclusion, though.

I would love a Bully 2 because it would basically be this meme made into a video game instead.

Eight years. It's now been eight years since Rockstar started coasting on GTA V (or more accurately, GTA Online since they stopped giving the smallest shit about the campaign six years ago), and who knows how many more until they pull the plug and start milking GTA VI (GTA Online 2, of course) for at least two console generations.

There's a "blog" of sorts dealing the entire San Andreas plot. CJ being the main narrator of it. It's surprisingly well written.

A Let's Play that you can READ. You ever wanted to figure out how GTA could be a book, there you go. I highly recommend reading it.

I'd rather get reLCS done than this but we'll see
> Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
> Lucid Games

Yeah, don't get your hopes up. Probably it's just a shitty port via Android emulation. LCS mobile also sucked on it's own, since it featured stolen assets from a GTA III ""HD"" mod, thus making the ambience look way worse than the PSP/PS2 version. Look for comparsions online, you'll see what I mean.

Ditto for III/VC/SA "remastered", I bet they are just a port of their mobile version just with a few textures tweaked, if any. Don't get your hopes up.
