Well, Norilsk would still be a fairly decent economic supplier to the Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Oblasts next to it that seems to join the federation.
Norilsk has been losing a lot of people and the only sudden rise of population in Norilsk is the establishment of adding cities like Talnakh into to census. Some buildings in Norilsk are also abandoned.
That's basically all of the cities in Siberia and the Far East, big and small. Almost all young people are desperate to move to Moscow or St. Petersburg
why wouldn't you move to Saint Petersburg or Moscow a friend of mine tried to get me to visit him in Siberia and I told him hell no I don't wanna go hang out somewhere where there's a bunch of mosquitoes in the summer and the winter you literally can't leave your house most of the time.
The worst part about this is that Detroit isn't the only city that feels fairly abandoned, neglected, dangerous and feeling third worldish. Jackson, Mississippi has it's entire southern portion look seriously neglected that it looks like shots from Life After People. The Appalachians have been so remote and horrendously neglected it feels like a different country.
Damn, Siberia has horrendous mosquito's too? I remember the Canadian Arctic was notorious for it's mosquito infestion.
Yes all of those tundras become really uh swampy in the summer and spring months perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes there's also one city in Russia where you literally cannot turn your car off or else you're not driving your car till the winter is over.
