Celebrity Gwyneth Paltrow / GOOP

The NASA/healing sticker thing was debunked quickly. Lots of "blah, blah, back track, blah, blah".

A protip for medicine: if you hear the term "conductive","frequency", "energy", "natural" or anything about planets or Chi, it's bullshit.

The only forms of carbon that conduct are diamonds (which are expensive and impossible to mold into stickers) and graphite, which is the same stuff used in pencils.

Paltrow herself needs a page here, as a woo-pushing, spoiled drama queen would fit here nicely.

Who cares about science though??

I want to find out which floral salve can cure my ailments.

I'm glad someone's made a thread about Paltrow because she was long overdue one.

Anyhow. Goop had a conference - "In Goop Health," it's called. And it's really fucking autismal.

Here's what you could find yourself doing there:

Here's who you can do it with. I guarantee that none of these people are actually doctors.

Deary me.

I REALLY want this to be a Kiwi field trip next year.

She's pushing steamed clams even though putting any sort of air up your vagina is really dangerous. Plus it's self cleaning anyway. But the part that got me is the magical chakra stickers. She didn't even have NASA's permission to use their logo. You could print the stickers up yourself and they'd have the exact same effect. Absolutely nothing.

I wish I were surprised that Cameron Diaz is doing this, but Nicole Richie? I thought she at least had a brain between her ears.

I was going to say "Sure but the tickets probably cost like, $500" and wow was I ever correct...

>sold out

I will say that I do think she's really good looking and in good health for her age, but I'm sure it has to do more with diet and being rich af than using crystals on her chakras.

I've read in several places she has osteoporosis from her bad diet.

Bump-a-reno!

The second Goop Summit is taking place this month, and here's the lineup, so buy your overpriced athleisure, stuff a rock up your clacker and polish off your coffee enemas!

It has many woo-peddlers and similar nonsense. Functional medicine, anyone? Eben Alexander, who to be fair is actually a neurosurgeon but his book on how he had a near death experience, well, you wouldn't think it to read it. Kelly Brogan is an anti-vaxxer who believes that taking medication is unfeminist because it's effectively saying to yourself that as a woman you can't handle things.

Tickets are sold out but the cheapest one was $650 and the fancy one was $2,000.

Also, the "experts" include this character who I think may bear investigation into having her own thread:

I think that says all it needs to, really.

I can only assume the tickets are priced so high to dissuade "trolls" from infiltrating and accusing the panellists of fraud, because most of them are.

EDIT: Orac's take on it here:
