I just want to point out: Xe offers a paid version of Anubis that doesn't have the mascot. We wouldn't even be having this discourse if fewer people were cheapskates with software.

Even if I agree with some of these hot takes, the fact that they're coming from ungrateful bitches that aren't even paying for the thing they're bitching about leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

People, including the post on Lobste.rs that started this, are complaining about viewing the loli. This means they are site users, not site operators. This means they don't have to pay directly for the software, no more than you have to license Xenforo to view this site.

It's open source, it takes 30 seconds to change the logo... no paid version necessary.

The natives are getting blood thirsty, although I don't think there is anything special about this user:

xvello said "I am hereby calling for a temporary suspension of the accounts who engaged in islamophobia, queerphobia, concern-trolling and sealioning in this thread, to allow space to reset our community norms before we welcome them back.". Bathe in all that commie gobbledegook. Thanks Norm. We will need a show trial to ascertain who the wreckers are.

Paul "pushcx" Harkins says he is on holidays for the weekend. It will be interesting to see what's in his moderation queue when he gets back. The other three mods apparently cannot ban accounts.

Let's remember the transparency policy.
Transparency Policy

All moderator actions on this site are visible to everyone and the identities of those moderators are public. While the individual actions of a moderator may cause debate, there should be no question about if an action happened or who is responsible.

If users are disruptive enough to warrant banning, they will be banned absolutely, given notice of their banning, and their disabled user profile will indicate which moderator banned them and why. There will be no shadow banning or other secret moderation actions.

No shit, Sherlock.

Re-read what I wrote, carefully.

"Xe offers a paid version of Anubis that doesn't have the mascot."
This is just a fact.

"We wouldn't even be having this discourse if fewer people were cheapskates with software."
Now, if you're retarded, you might project some sort of false equivalence here that I didn't make in my post. I never implied that the people complaining were being cheapskates. I said that because some people (not necessarily Lobsters users) are cheapskates, through some cause-and-effect relationship, this discourse is happening at all.

"Even if I agree with some of these hot takes, the fact that they're coming from ungrateful bitches that aren't even paying for the thing they're bitching about leaves a bad taste in my mouth."
There are multiple sets of people at play:

1. The people who are whining on Lobsters.
2. The cheapskates that use Anubis instead of the paid option.
3. People that pay for the white-label Anubis that doesn't contain the anime girl.

The people in set 2 are categorically not in set 3. Almost nobody from set 1 is in set 3

That's all I was saying here.

This thread on iceblock has everything.
  1. Undocumented versus illegal
  2. The left admitting they want legal slaves/muh economy.
  3. Evil MAGA chuds
  4. And my personal favour. The food!!!!!!!!
Well worth a read.

Wow, even the newsies are starting to Notice

This post, 4Chan Lawyer publishes Ofcom correspondence, is quite funny. Scrolling the comments I have only seen Kiwi Farms mentioned a couple of times even though the farms is a co-defendant in the case. Comments defending the farms are struck Dead, of course. The amount of comments arguing that the first amendment doesn't apply because the UK government is the one doing the enforcement, not the US government, are pretty hilarious and sad. They also infer that no enforcement will be needed because if anyone involved with 4chan lands in the UK for any reason, they could be arrested at that point.

There are also rare based individuals throughout and you can always tell, since they don't have the stodgy "intellectual" way of discussing things that so many HN posters have.

Holy shit that's why Mullvad is ending OpenVPN support?!
Not directly. They made that decision more than a year ago, for a whole bunch of reasons, but chiefly because they want to focus on wireguard. Writing their own tun (actually forking someone else's tun) is a result of that decision rather than the cause of it, though it does simplify their infra. Their previous wireguard tunnel was written in go, but the rest of their android app is written in rust.

This is more or less a modern day version of n-gate.com. Then, as now, the YCoominators had absolutely no sense of humor.
