I hope that HL3 is announced for the sole reason that it'll cause every major publisher to shit themselves in fear ...right before the boot comes down on them.

Half-Life Alyx was good and they still have a whole bunch of the original devs and writers. In the documentaries they still demonstrate a robust understanding of the world of the games and the legacy they have.
 
There is no sign of Half-Life. As expected.
 
Would there be any possibility of Valve being willing to sell the Half-Life IP to a company that would want to make Half-Life 3? Since Valve has been sitting on it for decades, they could at least get some money out of it that way.

Fuck I hope not. No sequel is better than the inevitable garbage that would come out if the IP were in anyone elses hands.

They got you to watch three hours of ads for gook bug slop and other DEI trash though which was the point. It's the entire reason they booked Gabe Newell in the first place. Hype up some phantom Half Life 3 announcement with journalist scum promoting some big insider secret. Some of the biggest gaming reporters were promising mind blowing reveals and massive news that would rock the industry. They lied.

If Half Life 3 ever is made we'll know it immediately because no one can actually keep a secret or prevent leaks in the entertainment industry. The biggest shows and games have their entire stories leaked in advance. Pirated copies often hit online before the official street date. Trailers are leaked online. Relatives of employees are posting gameplay footage and breaking all sorts of NDAs. Valve is also notorious for not being able to prevent leaks.

Yeah they got me good and I took the bait. My brother might be right though "Maybe next year." I'm hoping Valve has better opsec than 20 years ago but the Deadlock fiasco also seems to point otherwise. You'd think they'd know not to trust Ecelebs.

Did they actually book Gabe though?
 
I am certain Half-life 3 will happen, but Valve is just going to post a trailer online one day or show it at a weird event like CES or something. Half-life 3 is like falling in love. Once you stop searching for it it will happen when you least expect it.

Probably this, I WAS hoping that Valve would not repeat the mistake of last time with Alyx and give it a proper announcement at a show, but I suppose we'll be seeing the former.
 
Anyone here play Vladik Brutal? I needed something to tide me over to Half Life 3 (Trust the plan). Its pretty sweet for a $10 game on steam, and as gay as it sounds its cool to see a Russian take on Half Life 20 something years later.

I bought from a steam sale and I played the first couple of minutes and feels pretty HL ish but in the unreal engine (or at least I think its the U.E). Havent played to its entirety but its very clear that the atmosphere and tone is very HL2 inspired.
