People haven't even admitted the Eli retcon was abysmal dogshit half a decade later. Everyone's still stuck on how stunning+brave it is while also saying that it doesn't matter because EP2 was a long time ago.
people just see the eli retcon because of youtube videos since they can't afford a steamVR.
or even use their fucking phones for VR but that's just normalfag laziness.

Yeah I agree, I doubt that we would be getting any continuation of EP2 were it not for the retcon. Killing Eli off in the first place was pretty stupid and just put the story in tough spot. I also think the retcon, being handled through the G-Man, giving Alyx a "choice" was handled pretty well.

everything hinted at a run for mossman for the critical info she found, klein also had knowledge of part of the plans eli had and there is magnusson being tangentially related to it as the grub power would get his nogging jogging for a counter.
that was fucking perfect but valve had to suck that alyx cock due to durrr passing the torch bullshit.

I don't see how the retcon could have been handled worse. Introducing full time travel instead of just stasis and forward jumps to the series fucks everything. GMan has an instant win button for every circumstance and just chooses not to press it?

Something something employers grabbing him by the balls.
so when we'll be introduced to F-Man then? stuff kinds of hints to gman being a extradimensional entity with a pocket of reailty outside the linear time where they can shelve POI's and if they are going by the rules that they work in non sequential time then you can expect some weird retarded shit like HL1/2 but alyx or blue shift as gordan instead of barney being a possible excuse, even such in a way that they might be time jannies and shit since there will be the inevitable time janny going rouge story.

I've seen a lot of older tv shows, and you get used to some reaaallly tired tropes if watch enough of them for a long enough time. Amnesia, cheesy pychic storylines, etc. I usually think "oh no not one of these episodes" if one comes on. I had that same feeling but magnified 1000x times over at the end of HLA, actually blurting out "oh for FUCK'S SAKE". Time travel is the absolute fucking nadir of modern sci fi tropes. These days, and it's blindingly clear in HLA's case, it only exists to try to undo earlier writing. It's absolute fucking garbage and has no place in HL.

Also Robert Culp and Robert Guillaume are dead, the way their characters left the games gave Valve an absolutely perfect out in that respect. Don't talk to me about sound-alikes, HLA's Vance is not HL2 Vance. He barely acts, moves or sounds like what we were familiar with from the earlier games, and now we probably have to live with skinwalker Vance for another game.

So, Gabe Newell recently acquired a yacht company named Oceanco. You can read about this in the A&N thread:

Gabe is famous for responding to as many emails as possible. Someone emailed him a joke about the Borealis, and he actually responded.

For once I think we'll have a (Valve) HL title that isn't on consoles outside of Alyx

I just don't really see this being a Xbox or PS title for once since Valve has largely abandoned doing that kind of stuff nowadays, but I could be wrong

I don't want to wait 4 years for them to port it

WE don't know if this will be a retcon until HL3 happens, which is the issue. The second Advisor that gets chased off by Dog is absent in the scene. They have the ability to just have that cap him instead if they want to undo it.

But what's the point? It's clear they were attempting episode 3 but cancelled it and probably rushed the ending for episode 2 with an emergency plot twist for them to use later. I think Eli should stay dead since the original voice actor died.

Speaking of; hint hint?

Not sure if he means staying away from HL3 or staying away from the plotline.

I think staying away from manufacturing technology that can travel through time and space is what he meant. As cool as it could be, that'd be a tad bit too much dedication to advertising, especially if it ended up in the Overworld.

The guy who received this email reply from him and posted it to Reddit is adamant that he doesn't think it means anything for HLX, and that it's just Gabe joking around about not wanting to make a time travelling ship in real life.

Half Life 2 came to Xbox before the Orange Box re-release for Xbox 360 and PS3. Half Life 3 might come to next gen consoles if there is enough demand.
No.

HL2 on PS3 is a fucking nightmare port, the 360 version is bugged as Hell if I recall and Valve got burned by Microsoft's bullshit. Never again, for better or worse.
