Harley Quinn - DC Universe Series - Verdict s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ I̶N̶. out again.

I was only able to get season one since I bought it off Xbox live but from what I've heard of the harivy shipping doesn't get too under your skin Igor they don't go full woke with it (they way did bat dyke on batwoman) I wouldn't mind the show getting at least one more season. Now if only the second season would get a release on something other than DCs streaming service.

IDK maybe it's just that more than used to Harley and Ivy being a couple having read the Jimmy palmioti and his wife run on her solo book. Plus based on the credits he does work on this show which would explain why it reminded me of New 52 Harley so much

Sorry for necro-ing the thread, I went on a Batman nostalgia binge recently and the weird thing about Harley in this show is her being the aggressive one in her relationship with Ivy when in the original material Ivy was manipulating Harley and the one in charge. Harley was just some ditzy girl who seemed to enjoy her time with Ivy and it would be nice if they did do the shipping stuff naturally where both genuinely enjoyed each other, even if it's in the most dysfunctional way possible (given they're both Batman villains which means being autistic is a given). It seems a lot of movies and such are trying to make Harley some alpha-bitch like this one, though I admit it seems better she is trying to be a villain in this show rather than another Anti-Hero route.

It's at least better than the Suicide Squad Harley that was in the movie/new game or Tara Strong voicing her which is the most annoying voice in the world.

This is why I get so pissed off because the original versions of the characters had legitimate chemistry with each other. Harley being a goofy airhead works well with Ivy as the straight man foil but it doesn't make sense if Harley is the one in control.

There was this really cute web series called Gotham Girls back in the day that expanded the Harley/Ivy dynamic from BtAS and it's occasionally funny as hell. Even funnier are the Dini/Timm comics that were made with the two going on dumb fun adventures based on Ivy's selfishness and Harley's general stupidity. And when I see the tumblr-bait they're throwing at the audience these days I get peeved because somewhere in there is a pairing with real potential chemistry and comedic timing.

To be fair with the amount of twists and baits they keep doing I'm not sure they are going to keep the whole Ivy and Harley thing going outside of the start of the season, hell we might even get a timeskip with them already apart.

Yeah I can see them sticking to it or doing the unthinkable and portraying it as just a normal relationship instead of going ham and romanticizing them being lesbians. Honestly I don't mind the relationship but it felt really rushed in the execution.

You can really only hope they treat it like a normal relationship, but sadly enough I doubt they will with the current climate, plus I didn't believe Harleivy actually existed, thought it was fandom bullshit lol.

Yeah though as long as it's not the focus it's fine since there are other stuff that can still work. One thing that was actually interesting in season 2 that I want to see where they take it is to see how committed they will stay to Joker just being a suburban dad which is an absurd idea I found funny.

Yeah that seems honestly hilariously wholesome, especially with the Joker's background and how much he's been 'buffed' up as a psychotic motherfucker. I hope they take it down the wholesome route, I really do, but I'm very very skeptical of them doing so.

Yeah I doubt it, the only thing I can see why it would stay is how Joker gave Harley actually relationship advice for Ivy. So I can assume that perhaps they could stick with that for that reason, and how they moved on from the whole Joker conflict, but I can see the show writers bringing Joker back as an antagonist for Harley just because they ran out of ideas.

That actually would be a good idea, using the Joker as relationship advice wingman for Harley would be pretty spectacular as a plot point, but you can't do much with that before it becomes 'lmao dude just fuck her already' or something of that sort.

Needs a heart-broken, jilted Kiteman in the background to be accurate.

I'm kind of meh on the whole lesbian romance - it seems to mostly be there to please SJWs and fetishists because they don't seem like a natural couple to me. Especially as they seem to have been friends for years with no hint of either one of them hiding sexual needs for the other. And like others say, it was really forced suddenly. But whatever, the real issue is that whilst Harley is a mostly awful person, Ivy wasn't. You really liked her. And loads of people thought her and Kiteman worked really well together and then she ditched him on their fucking wedding day for someone who deliberately got Ivy blind-drunk in order to seduce her.

Ah shit, really? Why do i keep setting myself for disappointment, i thought "hey maybe, just maybe this shit is temporary and they will break it up" but this and DC vice-president being a feminist/saw (I don't remember which in particular since they are pretty similar now) so i'm no longer hopeful

How it makes me feels (add other disappointments in 2020 and you'll understand why I'm bitter)
