Harley Quinn - DC Universe Series - Verdict s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ I̶N̶. out again.

I think ending the show now would be okay, I rather have a solid finale, than a million seaaons and then it fizzling out. After all, Harley seems to be getting her shit together and once her relationship with Ivy gets resolved, then its a solid ending to her character arc.
Maybe do other shows on that universe.
Where is our Bane series DC?

I also got a good laugh at Wonder Woman rolling her eyes at Superman lecturing her on racism. This show does throw jabs in a lot of directions and I appreciate that.
I just watched this for myself, that was fucking hilarious. (As of this reply that's as far as I've gotten in the episode.)

I saw a clip of the show and apparently Ivy went back to Kite Man, can anyone confirm context for this

Kite actually addresses the cheating earlier in the episode without being as angry & tells Ivy that they can call the wedding of if she doesn't wanna do it. Ivy goes along with it & even kills the Condiment King & a random girl for it too.
Also, let's not forget this is the 4th time cheating. Except this time, Harley kinda date-raped her.

He was actually ready to move on & let her be happy, he literally gives her a chance to leave. She just didn't take it.

The worst version of Gordon in DC's history gets cucked from the Mayor's post

Two-Face is basically playing 4D Chess for the fun of it & manipulates Nu-Gordon in DC history into fucking up the wedding

He does that, & then tips Harley that Gordon may fuck the wedding up (which he does) & helps herself & 2F escape.

This cuts to the most fun & joyful part of the episode, Clayface trying to impress "Tim Burton" (his name is actually Gary) with his godly singing skills, which leads to Harley being a bridesmaid.

Harley "finds" Gordon & well, the misunderstanding trope took over. Ivy drops a truth-bomb & well, becomes Jamie Marchi from the Dragon Maid dub for a second & just... well... I think it's predictable as what happened afterwards, but I'm leaving videos below these anyway

She thinks 2F lied to her, but she doesn't realize it until she finds that the flowers are made of plastic. It cuts to both taking their vows.

Well, the invasion happens. It reminds me of the ending of the Pink Panther 2, except not as funny. Kite-man is basically broken in tears & doing a Crisis on Infinite Earths homage. Also, Clayface singing should be done more. Nora & Zeus are bugging the hell out of me tho.

Harley saves both & Kite-man is just had enough of Ivy's bullshit & says that he can see that she's just don't wanna do it since she was taking the vows. He basically tells Ivy that she just can't admit that she's not into him, so he's admitting it for her. He still wants to marry her, but she doesn't. Then he said her what she told him before at Corn Factory, "He deserves the best". Everyone in the comments of the video below except some shipper yuri-tards & Kite-man haters are practically respecting Kite-Man for being the GOAT of the season.

Now, to the funniest, yet the worst part of it. The climax. Bascially, everything except Harley & Ivy are great. Clayface singing Cielo e Mar, chaos everywhere, Frank "pollinating" the flowers in the florist's truck. But these 2 basically became a better, yet still as shitty version of Korrasami (The Legend of Korra) & Bumblebee (RWBY).

Now to my personal opinions, Seriously, you can skip this if you don't care due to how long it is gonna be. The only thing I'll say is that is just genuine & unbiased criticism from my PoV.

"I'm really sorry, Ivy! But Kite-Man will come around...he always does!"

This, in a nutshell, is why I despise this relationship. Ivy went from being my favorite character in the 1st season to my #2 hated person, next to Harley, who is my #1 hated person. Harley is not "brave" or "admirable". She is NOT some feminist icon, if anything, she's a femcel icon. What she is, is totally selfish & despicable. She of all people should know how it feels to be strung along by a person who couldn't care less about you. Because the Joker did it to HER, and the entire 1st season was basically about her healing & getting over Joker and forging her own identity. Yet she then turns around & (along with Ivy) basically strings Kite-Man along. Ivy could have simply come clean with Kite-Man and admitted that while she cares about him, she is not "in love" with him. But she let it go all the way to a wedding. Even when Kite-man GIVES HER A CHANCE to move on for her sake.

Yet there are still some people here actually cheering these girls on, yuri-fags, shippers, Kite-man haters, femcels, etc.. They BROKE Kite-Man's heart, & very probably humiliated him in front of everyone at what was supposed to be his wedding, & Harley basically says, "eh, don't worry about Kite-Man, he'll get over it. He always does." She is basically saying that she doesn't even consider Kite-Man enough of a person to offer the consideration of even feeling GUILTY for her role in this! In my opinion this is FAR WORSE than what Joker did to her. At least, Joker acknowledged, even if it was in an uncaring & bad light.

Also, Ivy is no better. Harley & Ivy both deserve each other due to their shitty attitudes. I just don't understand what cheap drugs were the writers on when thinking this. Were they having some sort of marathon binge of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. & suddenly thought Ross is Kite-Man? Like, TF were they thinking with this?

They made a character who's whole thing suffering & being a good guy & is loved by many for his great writing, into a plot-device for lesbo-fagging. This is the same shit RWBY did in V6 with it's good villain & turned him into an incel because the fandom & VAs never liked him, or how Korrasami happened & Mako became a massive cuck in the comics later.

Also, The show-runners have admitted that Harley/Ivy was always the end-all goal since start of S2. So if that was the case, WHY set up Kite-Man and Ivy together? They didn't have to allow them to get serious. It could have been a one-sided thing, where Kite-Man is in like with Ivy and he continuously tries to get her attention, but can't. They literally made a better relationship than comics & in this case, Ivy x Harley. In fact, what's the point of Ivy standing up for Kite-man in front of his parents in 2x8, if he's gonna get cucked anyway? What's the point of all this development apart from unnecessary drama?

To make it even worse, Ivy immediately jumping into the arms of her "one true love" IMMEDIATELY after Kite-man dumped her just seems like they were rewarding Harley for all her bad decisions this season. Last season, Harley made mistakes, but she learned from them & became a much better person for it. Here? Yes, she did offer to marry Kite-man & Ivy, but she had been obsessing over lvy the entire time and making really bad decisions that nearly led to the end of the world to take her mind off her. Harley getting rewarded for her actions without learning to let go of her romantic obsession just seems wrong to me. Instead the show-runners thought it'd be a good idea to showcase what ultimately turned out to be ANOTHER abusive relationship, Kite-Man & Ivy. People might not CONSIDER it "abuse" but it very much is, it's Emotional Abuse.

Hell, I don't even find THIS specific Kite-Man as great as compared to his reboot variant (I like him as a character tho), but he was always sincere & always supported Ivy & Harley's friendship. He has never said a bad word about Harley, even though she is always complaining about him. Whenever Harley called Ivy (even when she was in the middle of a date with Kite-Man, or visiting their wedding venue) Kite-Man NEVER COMPLAINED. He dropped everything & went with Ivy, no questions asked. He's the supposed man-child, yet he acts the most mature in this season, all to have this Disney Princess BS happen to him & even then he's the most mature one.

I know everyone was so gung-ho about Ivy & Harley hooking up. But the way they got together, on a bed of deceit & lies & needlessly breaking Kite-Man's heart, is NOT good representation. The 2nd season has made me COMPLETELY dislike Harley's character. Yet I'm sure in the confines of this show, she will be painted as some sort of feminist hero. She is NOT by any stretch of the word. I've been wondering if they are setting Kite-Man up to be the next villain. I can imagine him becoming a big-time villain, conquering Gotham just to show everyone (his parents, & everyone who treated him as a JOKE or played him for a fool. Such as Ivy and Harley) that he is NOT just some bro-ish derp. I hope they don't go this route because it's too predictable.

All in All, I think with this ending the writers have shot themselves in the foot, at least a little.

They have given people what they wanted. the relationship between Harley & Ivy, but to achieve this they have left those characters as liars, infidels, wreck couples, selfish, & they can no longer even play the card "they are supervillains" because they both have recognized that they are not. Hell, This relationship has strayed so far from the romantic idea of Harley x Ivy that the public usually had, as I said in the episode description above, that even some rational ones who shipped these 2 & were major fans of these 2 are happier for Kite-man leaving Ivy than for them.

I'm maybe fanboying here, but they should just end the series here & make a Kite-man show, or a show on other guys like Bane, King Shark, Clayface, or even Psycho.

TBH, re-reading my Disney Princess part, that's what's wrong with the Harley x Ivy ship. They are not allowed to keep developing as their own characters because they're always expected by that fanbase to be coupled together. It's been like that since the new 52 when they decide to turn Harley into their version of Deadpool & Ivy essentially just "Harley's friend/gf".

BTW, if you ever come across a retarded shipper, then remember that she had a fling with:

• Nightwing
• Deadshot
• Lobo
• Shazam (Injustice)
• Batman (I don't know this one that well)
• Wonder Woman
• Red Tool (DC's Parody of Deadpool, who, in a way, got cucked by Ivy)

And here's where it gets better, & these are comic spoilers now onwards for Heroes in Crisis comic & Harley Quinn comic series.

Ivy died 2 years ago in Heroes in Crisis, she's actually laying lifeless on the cover of Volume #7 too.

Now here comes the fun part, since last month, Booster Gold & Harley are a thing, & they have GREAT chemistry.

When Ivy started talking about lying to herself for so long my eyes nearly rolled out of my head. You could maybe argue Harley was a closeted lesbian who got emotionally manipulated into a relationship with the Joker. But Ivy actively pursued Kite Man's dick. There is no credible argument for Ivy being a closeted anything when she spent the first season chasing cock. (same with Korra, but I'm not opening that can of worms)

Good on Kite Man for sacking up and telling that bitch off, though. :semperfidelis:

Ah while it's a shame that it didn't go well, at least they didn't make Kite Man into an asshole last minute just to make it easy like most woke shows.

They didn't. But they did something along the same lines. After being a great guy and particularly great and attentive to Ivy for one and a half seasons, he suddenly starts laying out their future together stating how they'll spend their lives watching cable on the TV, doing nothing exciting and ferrying their four kids to and from school. Pretty much those words, too. I don't know what happened to the guy that flies half-way across the city whilst poisoned to get Mrs. Freeze's antidote or who challenges Aquaman to a fight or risks his life to get Ivy a wedding ring because the diamond is shaped like a fucking leaf. This is a guy who has been 100% focused on her feelings and needs since day 1 and even in this episode is perceptive enough to pick up on a fleeting look between Ivy and Harley; but somehow he's completely unaware of what Ivy likes in the last episode. (And actually, Ivy for the most part hasn't been an adrenaline junkie and mainly been wanting to hang out with her plants and (very) occasionally melt some toxic waste dumpers herself).

So while no, they didn't turn him into a bastard out of nowhere for the sake of plot; they subverted his character for the sake of plot just as badly.

The episode was funny. And King Shark in a tux is seven kinds of adorable. But really undermined by destroying the best relationship in the show and spoiling two good characters. Firstly Kiteman who was great up until these last couple of episodes where every line suddenly became a signal for how badly matched he and Ivy were (when he'd been making her happy until then). And Ivy who frankly now comes across as pretty callous. On the occasions where I've been forced to dump someone, I've actually felt pretty awful about it for days or weeks afterwards. But hey, Ivy - you do you.

Any show that gives in to shippers is going to absolutely shoot itself in the foot because most 'ships' make no narrative sense and require an insane amount of retconning to actually function. Shippers ship characters together because they think its hot. Thats it. They ignore the established rules and relationships of the characters so they can have their little fantasy and while that might work for fanfiction their ideas obliviously won't hold water in an actual story where everyone isn't ooc or working at a coffee shop.
Korrasami makes no sense since Korra was lusting after Mako's cock for 2 seasons and she and Asami were barely friends until season 4 but its hot an progressive so whatevs. Yang and the cat girl also doesn't work since the cat girl is a coward who abandoned Yang after her arm was chopped off and clearly had a thing for Adam and the monkey dude. Yang did't even like her all that much but just ignore that part. The reason so many Ya novels suck donkey balls is almost entirely due to the fact that its actually the authors draco and hermoine fanfiction with some tweaks because true romance involves two people with nothing in common whose only connection is that their opposites (usually bad boy good girl or some other gay shit).
Its not about what makes sense or what would be best or the characters in the worlds, its about what the author and the shippers think is hot.

They did what?! Wait, I almost forgot-- I stopped caring ages ago. But still, they do my boy BG dirty putting him with that skank.

Hit the nail on the head.

Caving to the shippers always always ALWAYS ruins things.

Probably the best example is Arrow. It started off as a good show, and Felicity was a lot of fun in those early seasons too. Then they caved to those "Olicity" shippers and the show became about that and completely ruined it. Felicity got ruined, the romance took over the show, and they never recovered from it.

They did what?! Wait, I almost forgot-- I stopped caring ages ago. But still, they do my boy BG dirty putting him with that skank.

See that's where it becomes ironic, at least for me. Comic Spoilers below:

They're suprisingly a very cute couple. I'd even go as far as to say that this is her best canon romance since the Joker. However they were only there for a short time due to the series ending at #75 & this whole thing starting at #70-#71 onwards.

BG is the best boi in the whole relationship tbh, he's just as loving & caring as Kite-Man in the show was.

Tho here's the irony, BG & HQ worked together in Heroes in Crisis, then they had a beatdown in #7 (the one with dead Ivy cover) where HQ calls Ivy "my love". Yet now, 2 years later, this.

But still, these 2 make a cute couple, even though I don't think anyone will ever pick these 2 as a couple again tho.

Firstly I think boaster and Harley could make a cute pair. Though I shan't considered it until now.

Second does anyone know of the people involved with the Disney xD marvel shows work on Harley Quinn? Cause from episode one onwards the pacing just felt like it was rushing to the end credits while trying to cram in jokes especially cutaways. Which is something shows like ultimate Spiderman and hulk and the agents of smash was criticized for

If the writters are smart this is a meta-commentary on shipping vs real relationships both quinn and ivy's conduct is personally awful and destructive. Quinns conduct would be appalling in a normal context and healthy development would have been her coming to terms with not being entitled to Ivy and not shitting up an obviously healthy relationship and a solid friendship.

Big fucking if naturally.
