I dunno, teensy powerlevel here, but it kinda sounds like something my mom would write if she was contacted in that manner? Really terse and suspicious, trying to guilt the emailer into confessing they'd said or done something to set him off.

I like to assume he (Harold, of course) is lying, and will likely go to jail for other reasons. But I'd love to see him try to fight a police officer. Just to see what would happen.
