"Chris: Mmm... Yeah I thought of visiting another country, but you know it's uh expensive. I mean uh, I went- I mean uh I've only traveled on airplane one time. It was to fly all the way to California to visit my uh, half brother Cole Smithey who has a website ColeSmithey.com."

The way Chris said it made it sound like he took an airplane to get to California but then drove all the way back to Virginia afterwards.

>> I could list a lot of drunks in this category, but just to be different, I'll talk about an exuberant 2-year-old who happily shouted "go, plane, go!" as he waited for his Southwest jet to take off. Sadly, the youngster had to wait another 24 hours for "go," because he and his mother got the boot. It wasn't so much his zest for travel that led to his expulsion as the fact that he kept loudly repeating his catch-phrase over and over and over. A flight attendant reportedly said that no one could take it. Well, could you? <<

This would be Chris.

"Go Sonichu! Zap 2 Da XTREME!" :sonichu:

Wait, how did he got from Washington DC during the Mythbusters show? He drove from Ruckersville, VA to Washington DC? Seriously? That's a long drive!

Wasn't the mother given a chance to calm the child down? I would think that common sense as a parent would be to tell your child to be quiet, and if a verbal command does not work, then place your hand over their mouth. I've had to do that to my brothers before.

The mom was like, "but he'll shut up once the plane takes off!"

Seriously? Bitch deserved to be booted off the plane then, I can not stand parents who refuse to discipline their children. (coughBARBcough)

At most, it's two and a half hours so I guess it depends on what you consider a long drive for something important you planned to see. Still, that's pretty hardcore for a day trip for an Adult Autistic Child and his geriatric mother. Once again, the smell in that car must've been something otherworldly.

Nah, I'm pretty sure DC is a day trip for Chris.

Virginia isn't that big a state, it'd only be a couple hours. But it must have felt like a million miles away from the hoard for Barb, I'm still surprised she let him go, considering her extremely short leash. I mean, she bitches if he wants to go to town these days.

Nothing like driving 10,000 miles to save $50.
My family never flies unless necessary. Worse, my dad has a "try to stop as little as possible" mentality. Family road trips (almost always to the middle of no where) meant hitting the road at 4 am and stopping at 10 pm.

I think the leash got shorter as time went on and it had to get to the point that we're at now. But either way, she'd probably have to be persuaded to go to a show in DC back then. Though that persuasion probably wouldn't have been as hard then as it would be now. I bet persuading her to let him go to madicon recently was just as hard as the DC trip was back then, and she didn't even go with him to madicon.

Personally, I love going down to DC when I have a reason to, but Barb looked pretty uninterested in that picture Chris took of her. But I could be reading into things, so whichever.

I like to take greyhound buses or trains instead of airplanes when I can. I don't know why. I wouldn't say it's the price, until I'm actually forced to take a plane trip, and when I see the price, it's pretty shocking. So, I don't know. I took a greyhound bus to Charlottesville for the Emily date. :tomgirl:

God, imagine being with Chris in a car for 4+hours per day. I wouldn't even wish that on Barb.

The stench alone would be the stuff of nightmares.

If he flew on a plane today, I'd feel really really sorry for the person who has to sit behind him :briefs:
