This is the video that allegedly struck a nerve with Viv.

I disagree with the video only because it would have had to have a peak to fall off of.

The reality is that all Helluva boss had was loads of potential and the hype train coming off of Helluva's pilot being a huge success. Most of which has been squandered to create a tumblr hipsters version of hell, which is just modern day California, with 90% of the focus being on literally gay mellow drama.

There is so much you could do with this premise and Viv wastes it on the most trite and boring bullshit.

You know, it's pretty sad that Vizi is getting offended because Diregentleman, of all people, is having problems with her show.

The same guy who tried to defend The Last Jedi by comparing it to Arcane while proving he has no idea how fight scenes work.
The same guy who defended Star vs the Forces of Evil horrendous ending, the same ending which involved Star destroying all magic and committing mass genocide because she wanted to end racism.
The same guy who tried to make excuses for Lightyear bombing and told people they deserve to die off like the dinosaurs (which is the same thing the actors told the audience to do, only for Lightyear to beating by Jurassic World.)
The same guy who thinks Venom is a gay, vore superhero (no, I'm not joking, he really does believe this.)

The very same guy who made videos bitching about Youtubers Like E;R and Just a Robot out of pure spite because they criticize media he likes.

If Vizipop is taking writing advice from this guy, then it explains a lot as to why her show is getting worse.

Now this might be just my ignorance showing but I have yet to see a depiction of a same-sex couple (male or female) that does not come off as being over-the-top stereotypical for laughs, artificial and forced to virtue signal, or just to be fap material as it's just above the softcore line. Maybe if the alphabet people didn't associate their sexuality with hedonism, I would not have such a close-minded view.

And lol at the post saying that Charlie and Vaggie have chemistry as a couple when others on this thread pointed out the Hazbin pilot had them come off more as platonic friendship. They even acted more like the business relationship of Blitzo and Moxxie where Blitzo/Charlie is the ambitious character and Moxxie/Vaggie is the sensible one.

Oh I agree, Charlie and Vaggie are not a good example. But for the most part they’re right in that all the gay Helluva couples we’ve seen so far are driven by lust and have no substance.

To be fair, we've had literally 1 pilot episode of Hazbin Hotel and it's a canon ship involving the main character, so there's still plenty potential to be had.

I don't mind the Stolas and Blitz being degenerates thing too much (even if it's cringe) because their relationship is one of them prostituting the other to themselves basically, but it clashes with the drama they so quickly tried to force, like it could've maybe been good if it progressed better but it isn't.

It's weird that not a single female character matches the gay male characters in sex and dick/vag obsession though, especially when one of them is a literal succubus.

Edit: apparently production of Hazbin Hotel season 1 has finished, since Vivzie posted photos of a wrap up party.

Which is why it's way too early to claim they're good representation. They probably will be lovey dovey in the show if that one gif Viv shared is any indication but that in itself would just demonstrate that Chaggie is Viv's favorite forced gay couple for Hazbin just as Stolitz is for Helluva.

I agree about the double standard with the male vs. female characters when it comes to sex obsession though. Verosika seems more into binge drinking than anything.

Granted, as cringe and shit as the show may be sometimes, it's very impressive that she has managed to bring out 11 episodes of a fully animated show with animation that is actually pretty good and interesting looking while simultaneously working on a full season of another show that also isn't easy to make.
Like, her work isn't a masterpiece by any means and there's a lot of lost potential already, buttt it's a lot better than a lot of the other animation coming out, especially with western animation for adults, made by someone with very little actual experience, with one of the shows being a webshow free to view on youtube.

Like yeah, it's cringe and fanfiction-y and has pacing and focus problems, but she actually did it and is doing it, managing to make 2 shows with above-average (sad state of affairs) animation, songs, etc. simultaneously, one which you can legally watch for free, with not a lot of episodes out but the episodes themselves are long by webanimation standards.

Most projects like this end up with people not even managing to make a pilot, meanwhile this tumblr girl just straight up managed to make TWO actual shows with her middle school oc's with her in charge, and it hasn't become a complete shitshow yet.

I just watched the video that caused Viv to sperg out on twitter and while I do agree with what was said in the video I do think things can be rectified with a few good episodes. Like, have a few episodes dedicated to tying up loose ends. Have a showdown with Stryker, give Millie some good backstory to meeting Moxie, see what the cherubs are up to since they aren't allowed back into heaven, finalize the divorce between Stella and Stolas ect. Helluva Boss has writing problems that are becoming more obvious but I'm still holding out hope for it and Hazbin.

Aside from Viv the only other internet animators that have gotten their own show for tv are Zach Hadel (smiling friends) and Michael Cusak (yolo and koala man). Every other talented animator from newgrounds or youtube has at most did storyboards for cartoons. Even if it ends up being dogshit in writing I'm still really happy that she go this on air.

Personally, I only really cringed all troughout season 2 episode 1, all the other episodes have enough fun and cool stuff to make up for the bad decisions (for something that I'm not paying for, at least).

I do think Moxxies dad is a bit too much when we already have plenty of shitty dad characters AND plenty of cliffhanger villians, maybe they should've waited to reveal how evil his dad is or whatever for his second appearance and after another character has been permanently dealt with.

I feel like it would help Millie (and Loona) to get a proper antagonist focused around themselves, or have an episode with a previous antagonist focused on them rather than on Blitz, Moxxie, or Stolas.
