"No no no, this cheating and prostitution-based relationship between a prince of hell and an imp assassin is totally uwu wholesome, because Stolas is actually the same age as Blitzo and it was love at first sight since they were kids! I'm 30 and I still believe in first loves, lol! Stella was always a maniac, and Stolas was always the nice well adjusted one with a shitty dad, despite them both being aristocratic figures in literal hell."
I wouldn't be surprised if Stolas age was changed to be closer to Blitz's so that people wouldn't start complaining about an age gap; in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of things about their relationship were changed so it would be considered less "problematic". Viv knows her fanbase; she knew at the beginning people shipped the two. But at the the same time she doesn't want to be called out for promoting a "toxic" relationship. So she "fixed" as much as she could where the story is not totally retconned but that Stolitz in itself can be considered...well as healthy as this kind of relationship could possibly get. Problem is that it's still not healthy and now you have the added bonus of characters and plotlines worsening because of said "fixing".

Could a trailer be released given all the teasers from Viv's and the official Hazbin Hotel Twitter account?

At this point, the only reason I'm following Helluva and Hazbin is because I like the characters by themselves, wholly divorced from the entire story, because Viv's tarded decisions keep ruining them
So Zoophobia again (which I actually liked despite it being a complete train wreck).

I have to admit Vivz really hasn't lost me yet. It's not that some of the criticisms aren't entirely correct, but I still like most of the prominent characters, and think the rest at least have undeveloped potential. So while I think it's probable at some point that it completely belly flops, I'll probably keep watching even after that happens.

It's still head and shoulders above all the mindless beanmouth crap that mainstream animation is giving us.

Also I really like the frantic animation style for ridiculous fight scenes like the one in Truth Seekers. It's really fun to watch when the team is in action actually doing stuff and helping each other. There's an almost Tex Avery feel to these action scenes.

I also like when the animation alludes to other older styles like the Fleischer Bros.

The Charlie/Vaggie redesign is actually growing on me.

The Charlie/Vaggie redesign is actually growing on me.
Vaggie is fine (though I kind of wish her shirt was something else than RED), but Charlie I still have to get used to. I think it's because she's now more angular. Her original design was more smoother and rounder, reflecting her more happy, positive attitude. She was different from the rest of the jagged world. Granted, maybe her personality now has a bit more "edge" to her. Thought, I highly doubt that.

Then again I'm expecting Viv to understand the basics of character design and we all know how well she does with that.

My problem with Charlie's redesign is all the red, she looked so much better before when her jacket was more of a salmon color. I know I've said this before but a major concern I have is that the show is going to be oversaturated with red.
It's already oversaturated.

Look at my pfp. Do I look like someone who gets upset by oversaturation?

I'm still confused about why they made her design look more confident and a little more evil/dangerous if her personality seems to be the same. It doesn't really fit.

This is partly why I don't like it. "She's a demon, see? She's all red!" Yeah very subtle, we get it, but the point of Charlie's character is that she's not a typical evil demon. I really think the black eyes and more subdued reds were a better look, the only character whose design is appropriately full of red is Alastor.

Pilot in comparison

You kind of had to expect that though since that's kind of standard for the modern animation industry. Sure, it's cleaner and more consistent, but the expressiveness and dynamic movement is sacrificied. Just look at all the shows that started out with hand-drawn animation and our now using rigging/puppeting.

Also I just noticied that Vaggie is leaning on literal air. Seriously, if you're not going to use shadows can you at least draw some lines on where her elbow would be placed on her hair. At least something to show the allusion of her actually being a part of the environment instead of being placed in front of a 2d background. I can't unsee this now.

If you like this show, you should probably also check out this one:
I'm pretty sure it has been mentioned here before, but the first thing you will notice is Michael Kovach's voice acting, easily the best part of the HH pilot. Also we have Sarah "Serval" Fisher.

Okay it is super furry, but if that was a deal breaker you probably wouldn't even be on this thread.

The animation is absolutely immaculate, Don Bluth Disney-tier. You simply don't see animation this good in indie.

Also it's period-accurate for the Prohibition-era gangster drama it is, with period-appropriate clothing, vehicles, weapons, and general attitude.

If you want to see a bunch of anthro cats shooting at each other in a Prohibition-era environment, this is the place.

Something I thought about during the downtown was having Hell seem so small in HB, similar to what's been going on with Disney Wars. With this vast setting, most of the characters are tied to one another in some way. Blitzo and Stolas knew each other as kids, Moxxie and Millie both had the same ex, Blitzo once dated Verosika and was a former friend of Fizzarolli, and Blitzo and Moxxie were cellmates. This just comes off as lazy writing for convenience sake and to create artificial conflict. Was the detail of Verosika being Blitzo's ex necessary for the Spring Break episode, even if it's part of his arc regarding intimate relationships? Revealing Moxxie and Millie both dated the same guy added nothing to Millie's character growth and could have been removed from the episode.

At least the characters from Hazbin Hotel have not made in cameos in Helluva Boss (outside of Loona watching Charlie's song in the HB pilot). And while HH will be set in the top-most ring, I doubt it will do any further worldbuilding.

It looks good, but those guide lines that keep leaking through the art are kind of distracting.

The episode itself is okayish, I'm not really a fan of furry based media, but that's mainly preference and not really a knock against the show.

This was amazing. I would even say it was a stronger pilot than Hazbin Hotel. I also wouldn't consider it "Furry" in the same vein that I don't consider Blacksad to be "furry". The term "furry" has a lot insinuations that I don't get from this. Its a funny animal cartoon, in the same way that old Looney Tunes were funny animal cartoons, and Talespin was a funny animal cartoon. Yes, the furry fandom grew out of the funny animal fandom, but I don't think every work has to cater to that specific demographic of degenerate.

This short is actually based on a webcomic, which I also highly recommend. Its very good, and has very good artwork. And definitely doesn't stink of the "furry" aesthetic. Its very much a period crime drama done in that classic funny animal style.

So was the early anthro fandom where you had stuff like Steve Gallacci, where most of the focus was on things like politics and military hardware. He was a technical illustrator for the Air Force, so his stuff was accurate. Pretty much anything in the Fantagraphics Critters comic would have qualified.

Anyway, this is more related to that era where they were still called things like "anthro" or "funny animals" without an implication of extreme perversion.

What I liked about this additionally was it focused on period-accurate clothing, vehicles, weapons, and even attitudes. There was some clever dialogue but it never got to that "everyone must sound like they're in a Joss Whedon show but gayer" stuff that happens now.

I'll probably check out the webcomic too, because it's been years since I've noticed one worth it.
