The only part I liked was Fizz's ending musical.

I would have been impressed with the musical number if it didn't sound like a pop song from two years ago and had a number of covers.

Blitzo was such a nonfactor that you could have removed him and have Ozzie deal with the stalker. And did anyone else find the deaf demon child to be just dumb?

This episode was enjoyable in a vaacum, it's well produced, songs are ok and the pacing is actually ok for once but maybe i'm still on first impression bias and hadnt put much thought on it yet. That being said, the plot has finally reached FULL 100% SIDECHARACTER GAYSHIT which is still a loss. If i can sperg about some gripes

This isnt the first time he was unnecessary but just the most egregious example. It feels like Blitzo is turning into this "mascot" and stuff isnt allowed to happen unless blitzo is around to let it happen and tell the audience what we're supposed to think (kinda like steven universe).

I glanced the subreddit and saw a lot praise for Mammon "finally being an evil sin" but i personally found him too weak writingwise. I know i complained about Belzebub and asmodeus not representing their sins well but Mammon feels like they went too hard the other way and made him a generic abusive/manipulative boss figure who loves money. What makes him different from other bosses or people who like money? What makes him the embodiement of avarice?

He also has a rather pathetic chimpout that was clearly an excuse to have him reveal his true demon form. And wtf did he mean by "you'll regret revealing that" lol, why would he mention that and not the fact Ozzy stole Fizz? What is mammon going to do about? Bribe the royalty to vote Asmodeus out? Politely ask lucifer to take his seat?

Aside from how I SWEAR Viv's been recycling character aspects from HH recently, Like Moxxie's crime past coming directly from Angel and now Mammon and Fizz relationship being Valentino and Angel (Which is funny, because Blitzo and Stolas is already a diet, slightly nicer version of Valentino and Angel.)

Viv is really weird about writing abuse, because Blitzo can abuse Moxxie all he wants, with one episode of him realizing that its' kinda fucked, then going right back to doing it, Loona can beat the shit out of Blitzo everyday than tell Octavia to be nicer to Stolas despite pretty much never interacting with the guy, and Stolas can be...Stolas towards Blitzo, but Stella, Valentino, and apparently Mammon are the motherfuckers who cross the line because she says so?

Because they have no self awareness. We're expected to give them a pass and see loona as funny tsundere and Blitzo as a tough lover, while the fandom gives them a pass because "no you dont get it! Blitzo and loona are only assholes cause they're coping with their own trauma so it's ok!"

I liked the fish twins and the music numbers but the story was so painfully dull and full of tropes. Between the stalker, the panic attack, and Ozzie coming to console him it felt straight out of the sappiest romance imaginable.

Fizz felt like a different character in this. He's never come across this fucking weak and submissive, or this disillusioned with being a clown.

I feel like if we had an episode showing Fizz being miserable under Mammon throughout the years and then showing how his hookup with Ozzie improved things would have made this less egregious.

It fails as an allegory when the other show in the same world has the Princess of Hell dating a demon that was human in her previous life. If anything, that should be the "forbidden love" trope and you also get a segregation allegory (since demons that were human are above Imps, Succubus, and Incubi, which you think would piss off those born in Hell that live in the Pride Ring).

It was over a year ago back at the start of season 2 ( wow been a while) but i remember some inner fandom drama happened when stella said Stolas was "terrible in bad" which lead to people arguing between dozens of headcanons to explain it ("surely this proves he's 100% gay!") to people saying stella is a liar cunt who raped Stolas and it's physically impossble for stolas to be bad. Yes, some people were actually more offended Stella said Stolas is bad at sex than her abusing him for years.

What i'm saying is, yes, there are definitely HB fans who unironically care too much about "who tops" or who's "better at sex" to a serious degree. This usually stays locked deep within shipper circle but vivienne seems well aware of her own fanbase, with both Blitzo asking and her mentioning on twitter.
