It’s been five-ever since I watch the HH pilot, but I remember walking away thinking Husker was my favorite character (his sin traits being degenerate gambling and alcoholism had an old-timey vibe that was a fun contrast to the more Hot Topic-esque hell denizens). My expectations of this show are rock bottom, but a small part of me hoped this minor character remained mostly untouched…

It's funny to think about that now, since originally they were supposed to just be friends. But other people working on the show shipped them. Because females can't be friends. They can only be enemies or fucking each other. Sometimes even both.
Hah, a fanciful thought, but if we go along with Viv's argument that pilots are non-canon and subject to change, imagine if Charlie and Vaggie's lesbian pairing is cut from the full show. As far as I can tell, characterization remains exactly the same because the pilot doesn't present anything about them that friendship doesn't encompass just as well. Even the mean news anchor is portrayed as being so dismissive that she can surely find any number of alternate reasons besides "I don't touch the gays" to demean Charlie.

In fact, I rather envision that splitting Charlie and Vaggie opens up more narrative possibilities for Charlie to have dramatic conflict via sexual tension, not just with Alastor, but also characters/antagonists besides who might have their ambitions set on the literal princess of Hell. Vaggie meanwhile can still be protective of Charlie all the same as a friend who cares about the Charlie's well-being and the mission of the hotel.

And even then, Would that open up a possibility for Vaggie and Angel Dust to have some kind of relationship? I've heard some people remark that was the original idea before Vivzie decided to make Charlie, Vaggie, and Angel homos.

Eh, who the fuck am I kidding. Vivzie is the type to not want to touch the straights, it seems.

Considering he died in the 70's and was in his 60's-70's, I'd like to hear him mention, even once, "I was too old to play James Bond but it is what it is..." as an interest beyond drinking and gambling. That of which fits 007 to a degree, but might be a tad too clever of a reference for Viv.

You gotta realize, these people live in another dimension to us, where their good is our bad, and our good is their bad; a scary bizarro mirror-world called California.
And yet, there's that HB episode that spends all it's time shitting on Hollywood, having Blitzo say "this place isn't really different to hell"...

...On second thought, since Vizie's hell is a gay circus wonderland, maybe it was a compliment this whole time?

Oh it's still in alright.

And we all know men can't be friends either, so expect HuskerDust.
On paper HuskerDust isn't terrible (Alastor/Angel is a much shittier ship that was significantly more popular) and could easily work with a competent writer who takes their time in setting up a relationship. But considering Viv is writing this I fully expect these two to be all lovey dovey by the halfway point of the first season.

That's one of the main problems I have with Season 2 of HB, none of the character development feels natural because it's so rushed, for example Fizz managing to forgive Blitz for what he did could work, but what should have been a side plotline that spans several episodes that would build up to a big making up moment was crammed into a single one.

I wish there was some worldbuilding tension that comes from Vaggie and Charlie's relationship. Like there's a bit of a scandal that Charlie is dating a Sinner who's very likely a fallen angel of some kind but in that case I'm assuming that's kept a tightly guarded secret where only a couple people know about it. IRL cases of high royalty becoming romantic with peasantry always caused some drama, even if Lucifer doesn't give a shit that doesn't mean everyone else won't use it as yet another reason to mock Charlie. But with how Beelzebub is dating a fucking Hellhound without anyone giving a damn and Ozzie dating an Imp seems to only be an issue because he's the Prince of Lust, it will be yet another wasted worldbuilding opportunity.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not the biggest fan of a man in his 30s getting in a relationship with a man who's in his 50s or 60s. I know, they're consenting adults. And once you're in hell, you're pretty much just an ageless being. Doesn't mean I can't still find it a bit weird.

I just never really saw the two having much chemistry together. Probably due to the fact that they barely shared screen time together. And also that Husk didn't appear till like the last 10 minutes of the pilot. Plus, I just found the father-daughter bond that was going to develop between Crymini and Husk to be more interesting. Both are grumps in their own way, so them becoming a positive aspect in the other's life sounds wholsome. Though, I doubt we'll get to see that since Crymini might not even be in the show itself now.

No one has chemistry in this gay fujo Tumblr hellscape Viv has created. Melodramatic bullshit that no one cares about as far as the eye can see and I genuinely don't know why you or anyone else expected more at this point.

The most chemistry any characters had was when everyone thought vaggie and Charlie were just friends in the pilot (which they were, they were clearly retconned to be gay for pandering reasons).

It would have been nice to see a close relationship that's not romantic (God knows it would provide give us a one where constant sex jokes aren't thrown around), however I agree that she's going to be shafted, the best case for her is they're just waiting for season 2 to introduce her, but my money is on being replaced by an already known character like Baxter was by Pentious.
