I'm personally inclined to think it's the latter option, after her little endeavour with the Fnaf fanbase coupled with her tendency to overall piss off everyone with her Twitter sperging, it wouldn't be surprising that big company is tard wrangling her to some degree

I understand the sentiment of associating these series with Doom, but I think this lesser known Doom clone would fit both sides, whether you're killing demons or as a member of I.M.P.. That's more of a Duke clone than a Doom clone.
Very quite good though, if ball-crushing. Shame it never had a good sequel.

So watched it and I realised it would have been more interesting if Heaven and Hell were presented as Good and Evil as they are in the Bible and played straight. And Charlie just has to deal with the rejects and try and make them into true hellish demons worthy of being killed by angels. A rehabillitation place for hell or a safe zone from the annual purge.

But maybe that’s because Hell is good has been done to death and an actual animated show that presented things straight but from hell’s point of view is much rarer.

I liked the animation but the songs could good die. So bad they were.

The only way I can see Viv getting around this dumb trope of The Devil being “misunderstood” is if she went this route.

I’d actually give her props if God shows up in season 2, back from his “vacation” or whatever and sees the chaos going in heaven and has a “I entrust you to take care of Heaven and Humaity and this is how you handle it?” sort of moment with the angels, casts Lilith back out and brings Charlie up to heaven to talk.
She gets mad and accuses him of causing all the mess and shows him the book before he chuckles and says “So that’s what your father told you? Come Granddaughter, let me tell you about the Heavenly War.”
And he explains to her all about how The Devil lied to her.

Part of me almost thinks God could show up and there could be a twist that she is actualy God’s.

Why else would she be trying to redeem sinners? How else could she possibly do that?

But Lucifer stealing Jesus’s sister or daughter or transing Jesus just to fuck with God (because that’s what he does) would almost be too good a plot point.

If Charlie was an all-powerful badass from the start you know damn well people would call her a Mary Sue.

That’s why you don’t go into as big scale fights as this series did in Season 1. She’s the daughter of the devil. Her being overpowered against lesser beings of hell would make sense.

If anything that’s how the season ends with Lilith being told that her daughter is screwing stuff up because she’s too stonk and she has to be stopped.

Issue is despite that being the case the stakes almost seem too high too fast

We haven’t really had time to develop the characters enough yet.

Really feels like where we ended Season 1 should have been where we ended Season 2

Nanoha Strikers and Vivid shows two women that live and sleep together raise a perfectly normal daughter. And the mums care for each other and their daughter to an absurd degree. You hirt one of them and you had better pray to god you can survive an angry sentitant german laser canon hitting you at full force in the face.

Nanoha series is truly peak anime.
