Weirdly enough I came across this stuff in the wild. Vee has an alt on baraag.net.(https://baraag.net/@politepuppet) a porn instance pretty infamous for allowing loli/shota. Someone from there followed me and their account was nothing but retweets of shit like this.
The Cherubs felt like they’re being set up to be reoccurring characters, which I think held back the episode. It reminded me a little of the pilot where they had to set aside a bunch of time illustrating what every character’s deal is.
I think there was also a reference to the "surprised Patrick" meme but that have just been a coincidence.

People got all buttmad they didn't have him be a gun-toting redneck any more. And to be fair that was pretty much a core part of him in the original Toons. I'm somewhat torn on whether that was some SJW shit or whether that was just modernizing a character. I also remember people getting buttmad about Popeye not smoking tobacco with his pipe any more either. Does anyone remember Segar cut out all the salty language Popeye used to use in the '40s or so? Was that SJWs? I doubt it.

The whole point is that it’s a subversion of the hunter and his target, with Bugs making a fool of a man with a gun. Take away a hunter’s tool and the joke doesn’t work as well. Given that Elmer still wears his hunter’s outfit, the modernization and “there’s so much that can be done with him!” argument doesn’t hold much water.
