So finally got a peaceful moment to sit down and watch and I gotta say this is a great episode, not perfect but as its been said the dumping on LA has been top shelf.

As for why loona and Octavia are so... "popular " I mean besides the obvious reason? It's kinda an inverse on the idea of "all girls want bad boys. " Octavia and loona on the surface have this tough, moody, angry shell but then you see them at certain moments like where they show a softer more vulnerable side.

They're angry angsty Goth girls with daddy issues from broken homes one minute, but sweet lost lonely girls who need a "knight in shining armor. " (not that the average fanboy could be one to girl in real life anyway) the next.

It's a self insertive wish fulfillment that's gone hand in hand with the "Goth girl archetype " since it was first mad popular in western animation, as far back as Raven from the Teen Titans animated series.

Essentially “I can fix her.”

That plus "I'm not like other guys, I can be your knight in shining armor and protect you, I know exactly how you feel cause I went through the same thing. Really the irony is these are typical traits men have experienced towards the fairer sex for eons. The problem is theyre emotions being channeled into affection for cartoon characters.

To get off Helluva Boss for a moment, the reveal for when Hazbin Hotel comes out happened a few days ago, with the release being somewhere around summer of 2023.

I think the funny part in all this is how it was revealed was that it was on Oct. 27, with a post from Viv saying a special treat would happened on the anniversary. https://twitter.com/VivziePop/status/1585668865958084612?cxt=HHwWiICg7dXbtoEsAAAA

Only for a teaser trailer to reveal the exact same thing with nothing new on that day. https://twitter.com/HazbinHotel/status/1586029956244508673

Honestly should have just waited for that day to reveal when Hazbin Hotel would be released but then again, this is Viv we're talking about.

For those keeping track at home, that's 3 years since HH was picked up by A24. For it to be in gestation for that long, Vivienne had better pray (heh-heh) the actual show will live up to the fanbase's sky-high expectations. Otherwise....

Since the retarded little imp show has already jumped the shark, I can fucking guarantee that everyone has waited several years to get hot garbage. I'm getting some strong Duke Nukem/Diakatana vibes.

It doesn't matter if they eat the garbage up, like with Helluva Boss. Vivienne will have real cause for worry if, when it's released, they go "hey, this is actually dogshit on my plate, not the 5-star gourmet meal I was promised!"

Maybe. Personally, I've lost all faith in the ability of crater-head consoomers to assess quality. I think they'll react to the dogshit on their plate like so:

Finally got around to watching the new episode and it was... okay? I also like Loona and Octavia but does anyone else remember when this was a comedy? We've completely changed directions in ten episodes. There have already been retcons of various things too. I wasn't a huge fan of the previous episode either but this one was a bit more enjoyable than that.

I thought there was plenty of comedy, especially at the expense of showbiz in general and Los Angeles/Hollywood specifically. It almost seemed personal, as if Vivz has had some recent bad experiences. I hope this doesn't portend ill for HH but I wouldn't be surprised to see that all end in complete disaster.

Two things did surprise me, though. Loona, a character I had more or less written off as a one-dimensional bitch with no personality beyond being a bitter alcoholic, actually showing care for someone else, and Moxie, a character I've generally considered the nicest of the lot, being an absolute dick and jumping immediately on an opportunity to fuck with Loona, over something that wasn't even her fault.

I know his dislike of her isn't new, but it was even more intense than in the pilot, the last time he just openly lit up on her.

Don't be a dick, Moxie.

I hate the “I can fix him/her” and the, “I’m not like other girls/guys” tropes.

In my opinion, they need to die.

Speaking of Loona, anyone else notice how violent she was to Blitzø this episode? Like she's always been annoyed and argumentative towards him, but never to the point of beating the shit out of him.

Did they give little to no info to the new writer what's been happening in the show so far or how these characters are supposed to act? Or are we supposed to assume that something happened in the "lost" episode of season 1 that made Loona this aggressive?

I swear the more episodes we get, the more these characters degrade into parodies of themselves.

He was being a gigantic prick (even more than usual) and completely had it coming.

Dude, Blitz just told her to be nicer to customers and she beat him up and when he went to apologize crying to her she kicked him in the balls despite having a conversation about how dads care even when they make mistakes

that's not her being reasonable

to be fair she is a literal bitch, but I agree she felt hypocritical, even if she did a little smile afterwards because like others said she felt unusually violent towards him in this episode.

Another merch drop or something for Black Friday. I'm not surprised...just tired of seeing people just throwing their money at this. I see so many reddit posts of people spending hundreds of dollars whenever a new merch post drops, complaining how much money they spent on the last merch drop...yet still go through with it. There's just no common sense here and it's somewhat frightening how the marketing team got these consumers wrapped around their fingers.

I mean there's nothing wrong in and of itself if it makes viv and her studio money, and hey these are (mostly) grown adults, if people wanna blow cash on "limited edition" merch because it makes them feel closer to something they enjoy that's their choice.

I have nothing against the merch promos, and a bunch of the stuff is nice, but similar to Helluva's recent format, I wish there were a bit more variety color-wise with the shirts. I'd get another one if it came in anything other than black because I have enough black shirts as is. Every now and then there'll be a blue one or something, but they're rare.

I think the only color being black comes from vivzie or her marketing team assuming hb/hh's audience ONLY consists of wannabe edgy young people who only dress in black. Granted that DOES consist of a chunk of the audience /fanbase but that doesnt mean it's the only one she should market this stuff too.
