Ironically that's a pretty popular coping mechanism many victims of abuse suffer. In their minds getting abused (be it physically or emotionally) is in fact their abuser's way of showing they love them.

In a more competent writer's hands, Octavia would've went "fuck this shit, I'm out" permanently, and this would've actually affected Stolas enough to at least question his romance with Blitzo.

Some of the storyboard leaks that came out suggest that might be the case for the season finale, of course I doubt Viv is talented enough to commit to that and have a major plotline of Season 3 being Stolas realizing how shitty of a father he's been and trying to earn Octavia's trust back. Instead it will all be resolved either offscreen like the fallout from the Ozzie's episode or at best be a massive rush job and have Octavia trust Stolas after a single episode of reconciling.

The ONLY interesting trait of stolitz is how they were both assholes exploiting each other but now it's now just two depressed uwu softbois who cant spit out how much they love each other for the sake of drama.

Out of context, the song is actually pretty decent. It's just the context actually harms it, especially with how it really highlights how far Helluva Boss strayed from its original premise.

S1E2 is about Stolas forgetting a special day for Octavia and preferring to spend time with Blitzo. The episode portrays stolas just as neglectiful as Stella.

S2E2 is about Stolas forgeting a special day for Otavia and having an excuse to hang out with blitzo but NOW he's portrayed as "trying really hard" and Otavia is convinced by this stranger with daddy issues to "cut him some slack".

Every Stolitz episode is literally Stolas making up excuses to lust over that imp dick. The moment his hired assassin kidnaps him, Stolas is actually HAPPY because he gets a new excuse to call blitzo, and even at the end he is more sad blitzo didnt come than the fact he almost die. Fizz's episode is Stolas wanting to talk about Blitzo. Its come to the point we are not even sure if Stolas has a job because he apparently does nothing but think about imp dick 24/7. And then this new song comes out and reveals that yes, stolas DOES work but only thinks about Blitzo while at it.

At this point Stolas is literally blitzo's sattelite love interest. He is hinata/sakura levels of having his entire life revolve around loving one guy. His wife only exists for angst fuel and his daughter for drama fodder.

I dont get it... Why is vivzie gaslighting me into thinking Stolas was never a horny narcissist? It's one thing to milk drama forever like miraculous ladybug but helluva is pretending Stolas is #deep and failing because he's more shallow than ever now.

This is even worse in contrast to blitzo who is clearly portrayed "someone trying hard to be a better person over" time by trying to reconcile with his sister and Fizz... But Stolas is never shown approaching Otavia out of good free will or trying to solve his divorce in a non toxic manner.

The irony is that, in Viv's attempts to make his relationship unproblematic, they kinda made Stolas obcessed with Blitzo to a clearly unhealthy degree. Next episode will definitely be more Stolitz drama where Stolas will do nothing but think about that dick again.

It's funny how consistently it's shown that at the end of the day, Stolas cares more about Blitzo and his dick than he does his daughter, and at no point is it intentional. Hell, as the series progresses he just starts caring less and less about anything else while chasing Blitzo around.

I just don't get this line. I fucked off from this shitty show the instant I saw Circus retcon everybody, but even here, I'm still trying to figure out why Octavia would listen to a total stranger who's literally never met Stolas and is just talking out her ass about a situation she has no context about and especially no business giving her opinion on, especially when we all know Loona would rip Blitzo in half if he did even half the shit Stolas pulled in Loo Loo land. I hate most of these characters, but Octavia I genuinely feel bad for, because she'd be the protagonist pretty much anywhere else.

Bit of a TMI, but me and my friend used to have a homosexual co-worker who's spent a good deal of time on this planet.
He used to be married to a woman, had a son, and years later, ended up becoming "bi", and left his wife for a mongoloid twink boy.

From what I can tell, he's mostly neglected his son, got annoyed by his ex-wife's cat to the point of taking it out deep into a forest, and leaving it there to fend for itself (His words regarding the cat).

Some of his at-work antics would include bringing a bag full of gay shit he picked up at a pride parade, telling my friend to dip his hand in and grab something for himself. His proper response was "Um... no thanks". At one point he wanted me to draw him and his husband as furry characters (Since I'd draw on occasion while at work, and it impressed him). I had a similar response to that.

This was before Helluva Boss came to fruition, but in retrospect, that was my real life Stolas encounter.

And you could actually play that for comedy, the sort of thing like where Bojack Horseman hates himself and knows he causes all his own problems but continues being a lolcow anyway. That's how it looked like it could have been in the pilot and first episode. Stolas started out pretty much unambiguously an asshole.

And you could get beyond that eventually through, I dunno, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT?

But no we couldn't have that. Instead we've had one character arc completely eat the story.

(And as for the swearing, honestly every other fucking word in the show could be fuck for all I fucking care, so long as every other fucking episode has a bunch of murder in it.)
