Another very likely thing is that Vivzie might be going for a more Gnostic view of theology: God (and by extension, Heaven) isn't evil, but Heaven has been ruled by whoever usurped Him, the Demiurge.
Gnostism is basically a very awkward way to explain why God was supposedly a hardass during the Old Testament, but hippie-like during the New Testament. A very shoddy way to answer the problem of evil.
Such a belief system doesn't stand up to scrutiny, and it only seems plausible to Reddit atheist types who never actually read the scriptures they love to criticize so much. Or to liberal, surface level "Christians" who mistakenly believe that the entire OT is obsolete.
In some ways, I actually consider Gnostism to be even more insidious than even atheism, antitheism, or misotheism. It's certainly more palatable than outright hatred of religion, but it's a batshit theological conspiracy theory, and some aspects of it have wormed its way into many parts of modern culture, even secular ideologies. But I digress.
